  1. Thanks Neil it certainly helps and i must admit it does look nice Its a carbon fibre Ings+1, typing this on my ipad but here is a link that 'might' work http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ings+350z+spoiler&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=XfqUUOOBFMyX0QXXhYCABg&biw=1024&bih=672&sei=Y_qUUP2FEqHE0QXotoCoCg#biv=i|21;d|PWgpWqj8LkqThM:
  2. If it works with mark in the car it will work with anyone else in it We are taking different gears around the corners and still getting the same times... Next week we hope to be able to extract the gps data from the dash so we can really see where we both lose/gain time on each other!
  3. Certainly was, better than being in the office
  4. Thanks guys, was a cracking day, really looking forward to next week and getting the whole team involved with the strategy
  5. Today Abbey and TLM rolled the car out as a shakedown at brandshatch for our race next weekend. The car has had a lot of modifications since we last went out but the two major ones from my experience today has to be the torq and the diff. I cannot explain just how much difference a really well configured diff can make, we have tried three now and this plate diff is amazing Day started at 6:30 - Greeted by sunshine a clear sky and a flooded garage and two dedicated marshalls sweeping the water out we knew we were off to a good start Mark and Jamie from Abbey arrived shortly after and we had the tools/car unpacked and ready to go. Today was really about trying to gather data and learn what the car can do with different setups so we know which choice to make weather dependent for the race and also to give Mark and I some time in the driving seat. We kept laptimes the best of which was 54.9 (which is only 9 tenths slower than our slick tyre time - with the old diff) We did have a couple of issues through the day but nothing Abbey couldnt handle. Slight issue with a front bush that is attached to the banana arm (is that right?) Towards the end of the day the heavens opened and we saw rain, snow and even lightning, though the lightning turned out to be Rosie taking pictures of Marks face with the flash on... We have a new camera in the car now which is much better. It showed up just how different mine and Mark's driving styles actually are, laptime wise we were very similar putting in an array of 56 sec laps building up to handful of 55 second laps, after it rained we also put in very similar laps, though the car was almost uncontrollable as we wanted to run it with a fairly dry setup to see how it would fair if it rained mid race! Mr Mark Abbey in session 3 putting the car through its paces. This one is of me in session 2 having some fun after Mark stiffened the suspension up and changed the bump settings, the car seemed to enjoy eating the curbs Please check out our facebook page and we will be updating with progress as we go, we are trying to report on things as they happen at the track now! http://www.facebook.com/tlmotorsport Huge thanks to Abbey for today, without their expertise we would not have got the times we did or had as much time on track, the car has progressed to a really good stage now and we have a clear path of what we want to do next! Ta Steve
  6. Some good progress on the car by Abbey Motorsport: Dyno'd at 275bhp at the wheels, so now running 275/275, really happy with the amount of torq abbey have squeezed out of it The suspension springs have been altered for slightly softer rating as we are moving back to semi slicks from slicks for the championship regulations We have weighed the car and please to say its at 1355 kg's, this should allow me to consume some more pie pre-race Extra fuel pump is in and working so no more fuel starvation/lift off oversteer some pictures because everyone likes pictures...
  7. easy to spot the three mics at bedford, small white pole with a black hat on, all three are on straights, two near the end of the lap and one near the start, i ran a k1 there and just lifted off past the mics, no problem all day
  8. you can get a resistor for the airbag light but i suspect you might be able to do something with that in the ECU? assume you have taken the yellow airbag ecu out of the car? (worth quite a bit if it hasnt deployed) Awesome progress, really looking good, you have to take the dash off to get at passenger airbag really, but i had to take dash off to get roll cage in so did it at the same time. love the cup holder We used DS2500's, good for 10-15 mins use with the AP's we have on the car but start to suffer after that a bit (currently no brake vents), the DS3000's are better for longer and thats what we shall be using this week/next week
  9. ahh this is where it all starts soon you will say "if only my brakes were a bit better i could save a few tenths here and there", "if only my suspension was better i could go quicker here or there" etc welcome to a slippery slope
  10. lovely bit of kit, cant wait to see this on a 370 in the uk
  11. I think its space for heat, the closer u weld the plate the hotter it gets, not an issue with no carpet as long as u dont wear shorts
  12. its quite a common thing to do and allows you to drop the height down quite a bit and use runners, though bizarrely having done it we decided not to use runners wasnt a huge job but takes time to do well
  13. Just had these made for use on the track 350z, they are a composite of FRP and Kevlar, i will be test fitting them over the next few weeks and of course using it, they arnt cheap but would probably become cheaper with more interest In true motorsport style we may well hack some brake ducts into one but the finish is excellent
  14. we mounted the fire extinguisher in the passenger footwell and have a removeable seat there, we found that when we took passengers out they were kicking the invisible break pedal (fire extinguisher) so we put some checker plate down to stop that, for the driver side we used some non slip material but to be honest it wears so quick a decent pair of race boots are just as good. drivers seat we removed/rewelded the hump that pokes out of the transmission tunnel to flatten/drop the seat
  15. good stuff, you hoping to move into racing next year, do a full season? let me know if you want any help with anything, not that im a fountain of knowledge but i do have a little experience with at least this car
  16. yes the pie factor isnt good, i need to stop eating pie/biscuits as well. Weight loss for the car is imperitive, carbon doors/boot make a big difference, adding a roll cage doesnt help though! We will be moving to syvecs, have you used it much in the wet with the TC? what tyres you using?
  17. MSV - Teamtrophy, i have raced in the nippon challenge before though (picture is from nippon above) nippon or trackday trophy would be a good place to start, how is your car coming along ?
  18. lol, right now i dont have enough money to do this unless it works, maybe for the start of next season, depending how we get on in November
  19. potentially interested, looked at this and the apr one, needs to make some difference to me so i would be interested in hearing from someone using it on a 350z on track as to what they think. ta
  20. id be happy to test the results on a 350z for you if you like we have 2 test days booked for brandshatch and have on board data logging/gps/g force/split etc might make more difference now we are moving back from slicks to semi's and we do have a chunky rear wing to offset potentially. let me know if your interested
  21. haha, to be fair it was me that fell off the track last time we were out
  22. does that mean i could have you sat on the bonnet in lycra holding the number up on the start grid? i think that falls under secretary job requirements In other news, the race is 11th november Practice/testing is still up in the air, will let everyone know.
  23. I shall do guys, be good to see you both
