  1. You have to give them reasonable oppurtunity to make good any repairs. They won't.
  2. Very unlikely it's been clocked IMHO. Is the mileage stored in the ECU or the dash clocks?
  3. Google for them, there's hundreds of bad experiences out there across many forums sadly.

Cost isn't too much of an issue for me with tyres, I'd rather spend money on them than on things that make the car look prettier Same reason I went with the PS2s originally, I want the best rubber I can possibly afford for the car, as that's where there's so much gain to be had. They're cheaper than the PS2s as well!
  5. S20004U sell @*!# cars as a rule, and sadly I think you've got one Good luck getting anything out of them, personally I'd consider it a hard lesson learnt in doing research about garages before buying.
  6. Exhausts don't last 5 mins anyway, and the Zed can eat clutches. Tbh probably nothing to worry about, what does the service book and MOTs tell you about the mileage? What about the interior wear, especially the drivers seat bolster?

Exactly what I was thinking too. Already got plans for uprated ARBS and some droplinks won't be far behind, but I didn't want to shell out just yet in case the tyres aren't entirely to my liking on the Zed and I go back to the PS2s. Interesting to see how low you set the pressures, gives me a good idea for a baseline to start on mine.
  9. But surely they gave you a price breakdown when you ordered it? Granted, when ordering a high-price car I guess you're a bit less sensitive to the cost options (especially with Porsche), but you surely wouldn't just order a car and leave a deposit without actually checking what you pay for? Dunno, might just be me.

Just ordered a set for summer to run on my spare set of Rays as a summer/track tyre. I know a few guys on here run them already but I'm looking forward to seeing just what difference they make to the car given my relative lack of mods in the handling department so far (just the full Summit bracing kit). Having used the Yoko A048s on previous cars I know just how much more you can extract performance-wise when swapping from normal road tyres, and it's a shame that they don't do the 048s in 245 size at the back else I'd have gone for them instead, but I decided to go for the R888 now instead of the R1Rs as the 8s will be illegal to run soon sadly I'll keep this post updated with my findings, and will also add to my comparison post in the main tyre thread when I've got a bit more use out of them.
  11. Surely you must've noticed the tax on the final cost sheet before you ordered the car? Tbh on a £100K car I'd haggle that cost away elsewhere, maybe a discounted 1st service or something.
  12. Shed load of clear mastic on the back of the plate and push it straight onto the mesh. Leave to dry overnight (at least) and you'll be fine. It'll also come off a lot better than No Nails or similar will.
  13. Can't hear you at all as in it's not working, or can't hear you due to ambient noise?
  14. Vinyl isn't legal either
  15. I'm actually one service ahead of myself with my car, and I figure that if I sell the car to a dealer he won't care, and if I sell privately I'll be able to explain why and point out the extra attention the car has had. Tbh missing one service isn't really going to make the blindest bit of difference to the value of the car anyway.
  16. I had a similar issue when I bought my ex-Nissan fleet car, 18 months old and with only a single 80pt check stamp. The car was low mileage (7K) and in great condition, so I asked them to give it a full P2 service before I bought it which brought the car back into date. I carried on with the normal service interval since and have happily claimed on the warranty until it ran out. There's no issues with that at all, as the car has been in their care anyway. If you're that bothered ask them to write a letter stating that the warranty will still be valid despite the lack of stamp, you're covered then.
  17. If someone sprayed my cat with water I'd cave their head in as well. Sprinkle a bit of fine black pepper on the car. Doesn't need a lot so you won't notice it, but it will very actively deter said feline.
  18. 37psi would be a better pressure for the T1Rs and their soft sidewalls, but no harm starting at 35 and going up from there until you're comfortable.
  19. There's a hell of a lot of benefits to being in Europe from a financial POV, although if you don't work in certain industries or have never just buggered off to the continent and got a job just because you're a bit bored of this country you might never see them. I'd rather have a slightly weaker currency that keeps the monarch's head on, though.
  20. I HAS MAEJOR TROOBLEZ UNNERSTANDING WOT HE HAS WRITTEN LIEK ;)
  21. Without trying to be funny, it will work it's just a PITA to do especially by yourself. I remember when me and Rich gave it a go for the first time (!), it took both of us a while to get it right. Stick with it mate.
  22. Cruise will almost always be more economical than a person, as long as you're in the right gear. I tend to go into 6th as soon as possible if I'm just driving from A-B, else I'll leave it in 3rd or 4th and MPG be damned.
  23. That was just the morning session too, I did the same again in the afternoon!
  24. Some insurers don't care if the car has a tracker or not, and the ones that do are often the more expensive ones so any discount you get is made irrelevant by the extra cost of them in the first place, plus the cost of the tracker and the subscription in the first place. I've had one before, and I certainly wouldn't bother again.
