Massa is now F1's biggest loser IMHO. Bearing in mind he came within 1 corner of winning the championship a few years ago, and now all he does is drop off and move over the second Alonso comes near him, and you've got a case for the most pointless driver in F1 currently. It's all well and good backing one driver over another halfway through the season when one's already built a substantial points advantage, but on the first race? C'mon, that's not right. I feel sorry for the guy as he's a really nice bloke, but he needs to leave either Ferrari or F1 completely to start winning stuff again.

Tyre size does not dictate pressure, the tyre type itself does. As has been mentioned in this thread already, I'd go for 37psi all round as a start, probably moving up to 38psi.
-
I love them, they're superb on the road as no-one expects you to be able to corner that quickly!
-
As people have said above, stuff like the FK452s will need more pressure in them to cope with the soft sidewalls so 37-38psi would be more appropriate, whereas something like the PS2s would need less. Tyres like the R888s will need even less pressure in them, dropping down to 20psi isn't unreasonable although I found 22F/23R gave a nice balance for road driving.

Correct. I used to run 34 front and 35 rear, so as to cure some of the understeer the Zed naturally has.

I don't think the whole RB & KERS thing is that much of an issue. Truth is that Melbourne isn't the best track to use KERS on anyway as there's relatively little straights, so RB did the right thing by junking it and letting their natural cornering ability do the work for them. On a track with longer straights they'll have much less of an advantage so will need the KERS, but then they'll have the extra weight which isn't going to help in the corners. There's no doubt it's the best chassis out there atm, but I doubt that when they do have to add KERS in that the car will be even further ahead than it is already. Also, I had a huge grin on my face watching Ferrari struggle yesterday

Given that he's already had to change the time manually twice since signing up here, you'd have thought he'd probably have remembered that by now But yeah, as Wasso said just tick the box in the UCP.

My old car was a ragtop with the K1 and I'm sure that having a fabric roof meant I got a lot less shaking and vibrations than the tintop guys. I loved mine, never had the bunts in except on track. Bunch of wimps That said, mine was an original K1 not the Japspeed version, I wonder if that's the reason?

Meh, it'll probably be fine. You're not the first and nor will you be the last. Simple human error, irritating but hardly the end of the world. God knows how you managed to do 100 miles without the cap on though, most times you're lucky to get 2 miles before realising there's an issue! Get the garage to clean the engine bay thoroughly though else you'll get that smell for weeks.

Shouldn't need to, personally I wouldn't bother.

Nooooo Heikki

Depends on whether or not the previous owner cared about a good fit or not

A decent tyre place is worth its weight in gold, I hope you find one soon.
-
So DRS is useless, and Jenson gets a drive through for getting frustrated and cutting corners. Looks like the RBs are eating tyres too... I've missed F1!
-
Well I gt up at the correct time Feels good to be back, hoping for good result from McLaren and especially Lotus (as long as theycan get some heat in those tyres!).

If the car is unstable at speed, then may I humbly suggest not driving it as silly speeds until you do get it fixed?
-
Yup. 'Tis a good place for it if you don't want to put a satnav in there

You can flip a car at North Weald, but it does depend on the kind of car. Jo had her old Aygo on three wheels and it was very leany when we did our last day there, and then a couple of weeks later a Fiat Panda went straight over as it took the high speed bend. To be fair to Walshy he put everything right out of his own pocket and took full responsibility for the incident, and I believe he's re-adjusted his views on what cars he will and won't allow you to do a day there in light of this. That said, you're never going to be able to roll a sports car of any kind there unless you're being particularly stupid, and I mean ignoring Walshy completely and going past the drain and digging your wheels into the grass. Honestly, that is never going to happen in a million years though.

On a £30K sports car, yes they are. prove it then go price some up. Why, is your Google broken then? Look, I'm sick and tired of having this same argument with you over and over again, it's getting very tiresome. I'm not actually referring to price at all, budget can also be used as a term of being not very good, and that's exactly what the T1-Rs are: Not very good. They have soft squidgy sidewalls that give a mushy ride, a compound that melts as soon as you get any heat into it and with 300bhp and 1.5tons you will get heat into it, and wet handling that is average at best. If you want to run them on your car then that's fine, but you might as well chuck another 500kg in there, detune the engine and swap the brakes for chocolate as you're basically hamstringing the car. It's a sports car that enjoys being chucked around, so what's the point putting tyres on that are just going to dull the performance just to save a couple of hundred quid? Since your calculator appears to be broken I'll do the maths for you: It's the equivalent of £3.84 a week to go from the T1-Rs to the VUS. That's absolute peanuts, and if that is still a huge sum of money to you (or anyone else) then you've bought the wrong car. The Zed is a £30K car with £30K car running costs that should have quality parts put on it. If the only other tyres available were PS2s then there might actually be a case for not wanting to spend £1K on tyres for the car, but as there is a bloody fantastic option available in the VUS then there is no need to put rubbish crap on the wheels. None whatsoever. They may not be utterly pikey brand like a Nankang, but they sure as hell don't belong on a decent sports car. Chuck 'em on a cheapy MX-5 where the weight and power aren't such an issue and they're perfectly acceptable. I'm really not sure what you're trying to say here, I wouldn't mix different N-spec tyres front and rear. I've got a fair bit of life left in the RE050As I'm running but the rears will need doing long before the fronts, and when that happens I'll probably change all four to the PSS if they're available in N-spec by then. Again, a large cost, but one that I need to do to keep the performance of the car right. I could just chuck a load of crappy Toyos on there but then I'd be left with a car that has less grip, less composure and worse braking capability which might be acceptable on a family shed, but personally I don't think it is on a performance sports car. Look, this really is going to be the last discussion I have with you on this because all you do is oppose my opinion without giving any reasons why, and not only is it frustrating for me to read it's probably boring to others now too. I'm not a professional, just an enthusiastic amateur and I don't expect to change the world but for every ten people who ignore all the good advice given not just by me, but by others on here with equal and greater experience than myself, there's the odd one who does make the jump and is genuinely grateful that people are prepared to share their knowledge: When you get them PMing you personally to say thanks it makes everything worthwhile and brings a smile to my face. If you want to make your car worse than it was than when it came out of the factory then that's fine, I genuinely couldn't care less any more. /rant

Glad you're happy

No worries fella, I'm just glad that someone listened to me for a change and hasn't run off and either bought budget 452s or gone onto mixed tyres! Give us a review once you've got them on and they're settled in, I'd love to know what you think of them compared to the VUS.
