I wouldnt even say you have to drive an Evo hard to need to fill it every 200miles. My mate commutes ~30miles a day all on motorway and he has to fill up more than every 200miles I used to have a WRX STi Coupe about 10 years ago and I only got about 200 miles from a full tank in that. Petrol was a lot cheaper back then though...

I think that you are justified in your statement about all the driving on your own but I wouldn't be too concerned about meeting people you only know from the internet when there are probably going to be close on 100 people there. If you were just arranging to meet Stuey then I could understand your concern but I'm sure you'd be safe with the large number of people going. It might cost £4 (or whatever) but its worth every penny and an excellent place to test the max speed of your car Regarding washing your car, I wouldn't bother because once you've driven through a few "fords" your car will be covered in muck.
