    350Z Number 1

Japan as far as I am aware. I stand to be corrected however...
  3. They definitely pulled me for both. I actually designed the plate myself on coreldraw and took the file on floppy disc (it was way before USB sticks were around) to a local number plate printing firm. The police weren't that happy about the illegality of the plate but I think they were soft on me because it made them smile at the same time. I find that if you are nice with them you can usually talk your way out of any serious trouble. Although being nice to them is tough, especially when I think they would be better deployed trying to catch the guy who smashed my passenger window and nicked my tomtom rather than fining people for doing 80mph on the M6
  4. Gunmetal isn't quite as fast as Azure though is it
  5. OK OK, I'll rephrase my comment... 6. I had a heavily modified plate (in order to create an obscenity) on my car a few years back and got pulled 7 times in 6 months for it. Everytime the Police told me off and said I need to change it but I never once got a fine or even a producer for that matter.
  7. R33 GTR - Not the fastest but definitely the coolest of the Skyline family Welcome
  8. Its a completely ridiculous concept
  9. Interestingly enough, when the Stig took the M3 round the TopGear track it recorded exactly the same time as the Zed (plus the RX-8 & 535d). I agree though, the M3 feels quicker when you're in it
  10. Lotus have probably sold them the chassis etc
  11. Welcome to the club In defence of the RX-8, I ran one from new for just over 18 months prior to getting my Zed in October 2007. The oil situation is much less of a problem than car reviewers make out. The manual suggests that you check the oil after every fill up but having started out this way, I soon relaxed to checking every 1000 miles and then every couple of thousand. I did 40,000 miles in 18 months and added about 7 litres of oil in total (cost around £25 because there is no point putting expensive stuff in and the manual actually recommends mineral oil over synthetic). The petrol consumption on the other hand is diabolical. It was a brilliant car to drive though, the handling was sweet and the steering was very sharp (probably a little bit better than the Zed) but overall I much prefer the Zed. When I was choosing, I looked at the following: Boxster S (3.4) - In the end I thought it was too expensive considering I was going to pile the miles on and what I really wanted was a Cayman S (that I couldn't afford) Z4 (3.0i) - Not a fan of Beemers (like a clitoris...) TT (3.2 Quattro) - Dull to drive I think you've made the right choice Dan. Merry Christmas to you too. Andrew
  12. I don't think the back is too offensive but the front doesn't do it for me at all. Looks like there should be tailpipes sticking out of those three holes on the front bumper!
  13. As a kid, I remember... Listening to my iPod during lessons at school Playing Xbox games over the internet with my mates Texting girls to ask them out on dates A pint of beer costing £2.50 Laughing at "The Office" Christmas Special Getting mithered by all my mum's friends to help them set up their wireless broadband routers Booking ski holidays in resorts with Glaciers to make sure there was some snow Having family weekends away in places budget airlines can take you
  14. Aigburth is not too far from me either.
  15. Hi Martin, I think its a beautiful machine but I've heard its going to be priced at around £100K in the UK??? If thats so, I think its a bit steep for an Alfa no matter how good it is.
  16. This is a few years old but if you've not seen it its sure to make you smile http://www.snopes.com/photos/advertisements/vwpolo.asp
  17. I bought an Azure Zed a couple of months ago and it had a Grilltech Mesh Grill fitted (Silver). I've been trying to figure out whether or not I like it or not and wondered what the rest of you thought?
  18. Hi Lexx, I ran a 192bhp RX-8 for the last two years as a company car. A change of job saw it get handed back and I was left to choose something else. I picked up an 54-plate Zed in October and since then I've done 3,500 miles at an average consumption (according to the onboard computer) of 25.8mpg. My gut feeling is that its much better than my RX-8 for fuel consumption although I never worked out what it was in the RX-8 as I had a fuel card and didn't care. Overall, I'm probably a bit like you too, I don't really mind what the consumption is I just want to enjoy the car I drive. With that thought in mind, I much prefer the Zed to the RX-8. Its much much easier to drive fast without having to rev the nuts off the car and I get loads more looks in the Zed than I ever did in the RX-8. Andrew
