  1. to the forum You will like the roadster ...plenty for sale sure you will find one soon. Good luck
  2. my idea was to get a 3.5 ton transporter and fabricate a cover for it as I will use it to do some work on the car as well as transport it. with regards to the stickers I think I will need huuuuuuuuge ones. trouble is people will expect to see a pink Zed coming out of that transporter Thought you were going to say Pink Caddilac then! Sheilas wheels stylie!
  3. Blimey you will be busy then with all that lot! Why not fit that new Subaru 2.5 Ltr Diesel Boxer engine in the van - bound to be quick and good on fuel - its a flat 6 also I think? RX8 engine is tiny that may even fit in the Bug - trouble is the first corner you come to will end up on your door handles!
  4. OOer - in that case - why not go for a cheaper option of a low level car trailer. Buy a cheap Crewcab pickup/van VW transporter Type 4 (get a 1.9TDI not the TD I have or the 2.5 TDI engine) fit a towbar and your away! Later on you can get those fancy covered trailers so you can put loads of 350Z-UK.COM stickers on the side of it!
  5. Hi Caroline Never mind the bike rack ...Wow nice Split - same year as mine (dont have it anymore though ) Have you got the stock engine or put a later 16 in there? Beetle looks nice - and what do you mean they are not good on motorways - just plant your right heel on the gas and it will find its own speed! Still got my '71 1300 but its patiently waiting a resto for 19 years! Re: Bike racks I have a ragtop Zed too so interested in your findings, as Mart has mentioned earlier the boot is plastic not metal so not much strength in there and it will dint easily so those MX5 type racks are not much use? You need a folding bike! When you get the rack delivered and fitted can you post some pics - so the rest of us can see how it all works out please? Good luck with it and dont let the bug drip too much oil on your drive!
  6. Probably checking out your ICE and interior bling console (very nice btw) But you wanna get some home brew paddle shifts like Marzmann!
  7. Come on folks ... get your name down - make a long weekend or week of it, its even better. Promise you wont regret it?
  8. Dan those are superb pics - deffo a few for the Calendar I think in this lot! Particular fave is the last one under the bridge - spot on matey!
  9. Just ask Stan about ladies without underwear walking about..... Oh God - thanks for reminding me Stew! I was about to eat my dinner - dont feel hungry now.... The streets of Edinburgh have never been the same after that fateful night! Mike you got those pants from aldi by any chance? Very trendy but obviously need stronger seams!
  10. that is very helpful stan thanks alot. to be honest 3.5 T can also do the job. I am looking to by one rather than hire cuz it would work out much cheaper for my needs. The 3.5 Tonners are generally Transit based or VW transporter based - go for the VW version more likely to survive longer than 5 minutes! The one I used was a Mitsubishi 7.5 Tonne Beavertail. Mitsubishi- seem to be quite common and very good (fast - well up to 55 anyway!) There is a company in London that hire the 3.5 Tonners out maybe they have second hand ones - look on google for 3.5 tonne car transporter- but its best to look for beavertail - thats the name of that type of rear platform ...ooh I'm a sad git!
  11. Awwww come on Jay - I'm only messing - mine was covered in s*** - all of it in less than 5 mins on the motorway!
  12. Was that you Louis?? Blimey did'nt recognise you from the pic on the forum - think Beavis may have to reintroduce nametags again Nice to meet you and glad you liked the cakes (Only kidding about Richies car btw ) Forgot to mention thanks to June and Colin (Ebized) for traffic direction duties - we always end up going the wrong way at that turn off! Beavis proof read the instructions next time ... It would'nt be Wales if we did'nt take a wrong turning at least once! Nice to see Rick's Interlagos Fire Zed again after its rebirth. Looking good as ever. Mart and Liz - as always good to see you - hub of the club Andy and Fran nice to see you again. Get that B&B booked before its too late - we should have asked for a club discount at that place! Andyspak - we meet at last - nice looking car - bet you spend hours with a toothbrush cleaning that chicken wire grill! Thanks to your mum for photographer duties. Ren and Stimpy Chris! (Toon Chris?)(why is everyone called Chris on this forum!) nice to meet you also - hope you got home ok? Chris (Marzman) cool home made Ferrari Paddle shift sticks fantastic! Also like the headup display - you've got a home business in the making there - what next firebreathing Turbo chargers ! Tmjak Chris (I know its all Chris's) nice to see you again mate - like the leather trimmed dash panels - looked really good - think I may have to do an Aston/Bentley stylie interior myself? Have to see how it turns out for Chris'I (yes another Chris)? nice to see you and Amanda btw. Tilly and Sam car looks pristine and really good with that front bumper and kit on. Me and Lucy had a really good time ....here's to the Hoon - come on everyone get your names down (shameless plug for Uncle Stew)
  13. wow the pics are excellent only a couple from me....... What a Mucky Pup ....tut tut tut...come on this is the main club meet - make an effort lad! Damn Blast Gadzooks! The OTHER Night Blue ragtop - my plans for world domination are foiled! There can only be one! Top motor and no swirl marks! Nice to meet you btw 'Ere meester wanna buy a cheap Datsun ...... any colour you like!' T'was just a spot of rain nothing to worry about!
  14. Just wanted to say a big thanks to the Mods for organising this especially Beavis. Yet another great Wales run - even though we had the Wales Police everywhere(I did bribe them with cakes at the Services - I think it worked! ) and the rain on and off it did'nt dampen spirits and I think everyone had a great time. It was a great sight to see so many Zeds there - the car park at the pub at the end looked like Nissans parking lot at the docks! Nice to meet you all folks - put a face to the web name so to speak and meet up with old friends Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Squarehead by the way , good to see you both and with wedding cake in hand (by the way - its all gone Mark - sure its cost me about £10 extra in fuel - the weight of it! We heard at Chester Services about Steve and his son thank goodness they are ok. Hope the rest of you arrived home safely. Just a couple of pics on the other thread too busy gassing this time. :bye:
  15. Unusually I know the answer to this? If you passed your test before 1991 you can hire/drive a 7.5 Tonne transporter on your normal license otherwise you can usually get a 3.5 Tonne transporter . Note the 7.5 Tonners are limited to 55mph so be warned! (Engine limiter!) Look on Fleabay if you want to buy one but they are about £140 per day for a 7.5 Tonner if you want to hire. Hope this helps?
  16. It was lashing it down this morning to work but so far my bit of North Wales is fine - seems to be clearing up and its quite mild Washed the Zed on Saturday , waxed and sealed on tuesday - drove to work on Wednesday - covered in poo! - lashed it down thursday and Friday - looks clean again but wheels need a spruce up ! By sunday it will need a wash and wax again! Who cares its about taking part and meeting up not worrying about the sheen! Hope to see you there folks
  17. We have just booked at Fort Augustus but due to work commitments we can't make it the week before the weekend run , so will be spending the week after in sunny Scotland somewhere - as yet undecided? Looking forward to seeing you folks again on the Hoon and hopefully meet up and discuss on the Wales meet?
  18. That'll be my job! Well I will organise a run further north for myself and Colin. Anyone else can join in too. It'll be before the big drive I think. I'll be in Ullapool for a couple of days then. Cracking little place! I'll post up the date when I confirm when Ebized is journeying up from waaaaaaaaay down south. Hmmm sounds interesting? We are staying for a week up there - heading further north for the rest of the week. Like last year its great to go for a week - you have enough time to relax in between and enjoy Blackpudding/haggis stacks with Drambiue cream on top .....mmmmmm ! We are booking the B&B tonight - hopefully they will still have rooms for us!
  19. Look son I've told you about pooping in Stews Garden.............. if he catches you he'll force you to wash his cars with that funny wax stuff using your furry ar**!
  20. Behind me for a while - vanished somewhere off the Airport junction I think? Very nice btw
  21. I can deffo recommend this kit - it works a treat and the hood looks like new afterwards! Water beads off it nicely http://www.premiumcarcare.co.uk/detail.php?pid=FHK Be careful not to get any on your paint though? If you do wipe it off straight away and ensure you can let the hood treatment dry off for a few hours first before you fold the roof.
  22. sorry I cant remember Mike - will have a look tonight
