  1. Dont forget you already have a Voltmeter in the car!
  2. As far as I know they all open at the same time. Lithuim or copper grease would be ideal yes. Have you managed to get in it yet? I've not seen one of those heaters for the locks in years do they still make them? Remember in winter any weaknesses in the electrics will manifest themselves on cold days like today - so maybe we are looking in the wrong place - ensure you check the battery connections are good and tight and with some of that grease smeared on the contacts.
  3. Oh dear poor old RX8's getting a beating again .... The RX7 engines apparently needed to be rebuilt on a regular basis (old tech -high power!) the RX8 engine in my opinion is a fab design and treated well should last. Dont tarnish them all because people are too lazy to do regular maintenance checks ! Yes there are loads of RX8's on Mazda forecourts because of the running costs , the road tax and because people think they will sponteously combust! There are also 350Z's lined up on dealer forecourts because of the tax the running costs and because nobody wants to buy a big gas guzzling sports car when they are struggling to pay the mortgage during a recession! There are Z4's lined up on dealer forecourts for the same reason etc etc etc and so it goes on. Any car sat on a forecourt for any length of time will get a flat battery and also have you seen they way salesmen treat cars lined up on forecourts! Surprised the poor mites still work after they have had the @rse revved past its limits from cold! Sorry felt the need to stand up for RX8's again
  4. Matt Nissan UK warranty cover the car bodywork for 12 years not 6. Peeling paint finish - its probably been resprayed at some point most front bumpers are as they stone chip easily? Take it back and see wht you can do otherwise I think its £200-300
  5. to the madhouse mate wow no speed lits nice Btw best take your personal number off mate never know what loons are about on t'internet
  6. It will most likely be condensation on the mechanism - remember its just a lowly solenoid - and if its not been greased regularly you can get this kind of bahaviour - all I can suggest is pour some warm (not boiling!) water on the door about the middle of the door or use a hairdrier on the door to raise the ambient temperture - then wait a while and try a few time with the key not the remote - eventually it will free up - is the boot locked also? Maybe worth climbing in that way ?? Hope this helps - ps dont use WD40 (its p$sswater waste of time - its just parafin - use some engine oil mixed with it or white spirit to smear on the lock mechanism on the door? Hope this helps?
  7. Yes you only need about 1/2 an inch rubbed away from the window strip on where it meets the door - personally I would clear the whole window anyway (so you see your mirrors) but thats because I do a long motorway journey first thing anyway. Just remember a few basic rules about driving this time of year - save your poor battery from a premature demise! Dont use your wipers until the windscreen is defrosted and only after you have checked wipers not frozen to the glass. Dont drop the side windows until you know they can move freely Dont put the rear demister on until at least your engine has had a minute or 2 to warm up and likewise the heated seat. Dont ever pour boiling hot water on your windscreen, side glass etc! Do invest in a good scraper and gloves - and some handwarmers - they are 2 for a £1 at Aldi - and reusable. Invest in a Club Fleece they are just the best fleeces you can buy! Happy motoring! Discovered today that a bigger car takes about 10 times longer to defrost than the Zed and those leather seats were like siting on an iceblock until the heater came on and boiled my backside
  8. I think Colin is getting tempted to buy one
  9. Scrape the ice off the where it meets the door weather strips on the door - thats where its normally frozen to - this is the wonder of having doors that autodrop when you open the door - they are pretty tough but dont wind them down until they are defrosted properly
  10. to the forum yes deffo buy one you will love it
  11. to the forum mate - hey your not going to go far with that kit stuck on with tape!
  12. Blimey I was into the aircooled version of that scene years ago but after 10 years of it - you've seen it all, done it all and had enough spares to build them from scratch! (still do! sorry Lucy! ) Surprised you got ribbed like that Mart having said that I'm on the Type 4 site for the van and there are a few people that leave a lot to be desired - so far this is the best community ever

    370Z in Black

£950!!!! ffs!!! what that for planting trees or building duck houses!! I've seen a 370 in GM , blue , yellow - the blue is my fave colour yes it makes the 350 look dated but agree with Trev not really my bag even if it better in everyway? Marmite again is'nt it!
  14. A few of us in the same boat here - but we have to be practical and the Zed is a large drain on funds for one reason or another - at least you can say you've owned one and can go back in a few years and get another - just make sure you support this site in the meantime.
  15. Plus your 4 posts shy of the rule - so reply to what we have written!
  16. Did you card him then? Damn now I have to find the designer of the 300C (not quite the same is it - probably some lardy bloke from Staines!)
  17. Thanks! I did put it up on here but it was taken down.. rules are rules.... I don't have enough posts thats easily fixed just post up some rubbish (like I do!) and you will be fine! Mention PKAT in the title and before you know it!
  18. Yikes everyone is selling their Zed (ahem ) Good luck with the sale - get the ad in here also - if not already done so?
  19. Damn I just got a new RWD car Back to the van it is! Dont mind the snow as long as its not raining the whole time like it is !!!
  20. Honda Civic , Toyota Yaris , previous shape Micra Sport
  21. Your right Chris It could be the 'clearing the road' for the club run patrol - I basically ram any caravanners and Vectra owners out of the way!
  22. Chris wow surprised me there with this thread? I agree with you mate for me the cost of owning it just got too much plus its not practical for me anymore . The other thing if your going to sell do it quickly or you will agonise over it like I did and that just makes you unhappy? But hope you can get a manual Zed and your still going to stick around the forum - blimey at this rate we may need a special section for zedless club members
