  1. Does anybody here use these when detailing their cars? I gave mine a good clean last weekend, wash, paint cleaner, polish and finally a waxing. It was the first time I'd used all the megs stuff I bought months ago (work, innit). And while I stuck to the very letter of the various instructions, I found the wax an absolute nightmare to buff up (megs NXT). A week later, I've discovered a couple of small areas on the lower panels that have hazed up where I hadn't managed to buff off the wax properly. The bottle say to apply, leave until a haze appears and buff off, but doing it this way renders the wax almost impossible to remove! So it was a case of apply, work in, remove immediatly. Then I got to thinking about rotary polishers, are they safe to use with a good quality polishing head? It has to be easier than braking your back trying to get dried in wax off, doesn't it?
  2. It's all about aesthetics, doesn't matter if it's functional or not, it's simply a personal thing. You could argue the same for carbon fibre bits under the bonnet, they're only visible when you open it, doesn't stop people buying it though, does it? I like it, a very nice touch.
  3. I LIKE IT! Not sure it'd look right on my jdm, though. Don't think it'd have the same impact spread over two lines
  4. I think those were the ones I saw, Jim. They are gorgeous. Did you remove them and spray, or paint in place? I really like that effect, it makes something as mundane as opening the door a highlight. Thanks for showing those again. Also love the rest of the pics. Carleton

    Brembo sizing

This'll sound dim, but does anyone know if Brembo calipers are a universal fit? What I mean is, do nissan make the caliper mounts to fit the Brembo, or do Brembo supply calipers to Nissan's specification? I have seen a couple of Brembo sets on fleabay, one from a Subaru, another from a Porsche and they seem reasonably priced. I'd like to upgrade from my standard brakes (purely for cosmetic reasons), but don't want to really spend thousands doing it. If these others will fit, I might consider bidding. Thanks for any help.
  6. Oh, they're niiiiiice! where'd they come from?
  7. I remember seeing once, somewhere, a vent cover in aluminium that goes over the door vent (the one with the 'Z' in the centre when you open the door). Has anyone seen these/have them/know where to get them, or did I just dream it?
  8. Just looked at these fantastic pics with Lisa. Looks like we might have settled on a holiday destination at last. Absolutely stunning pics, stunning.

    Thanks Phil

No flashing lights, nor static ones either for that matter. As for performance, haven't yet had a chance to really test it, but it don't 'arf sound nice
  10. Can anyone help with this? When my passenger window is full down and I raise it using the 'one touch' function on the button, the window fully closes then opens to about a third of the way down on it's own. I can close it by holding the button up, and it stays shut. But if I use the 'one touch' the above happens. Never noticed when this began as I don't drive that much (work), and when I am home, it's rains. A lot. Any ideas peeps?

    Thanks Phil

Okay, just got in from fitting my plenum spacer (for which I bled and swore quite a lot!) and all is well. No air leaks, minor coolant leak quickly fixed, and I'm feeling a bit chuffed Not being what you call "mechanically minded", meaning I normally end up in a far worse situation than I would be if I'd left it alone, I'm pleased with the result I even managed to fit on the new set of PIAA wipers I got with barely scraped knuckles And after a few trys at it, I eventually managed to reset the ecu so it's not displaying the warning light. I am the preverbial happy bunny Thanks Phil
  12. I'm a strapping six footer, and fifteen stones (not a porker, though) and I have bags of room.

Thanks bud, will have to try that in the morning now, as the rain looks set for the rest of this evening. I was sure the jubilee clip was tigh, and I definitly plugged in the connector, but I'll double check before doing the ecu thing.

Hey Gix, I'm always about, well sorta, when I'm not away working. But it's good to be at home for a while. Here til the 20th, then it's all go again. gotta cram in as much modding as possible, but not if my warning lights are gonna keep coming on!!!
  15. DON'T DO IT!!! Like you wouldn't repeatedly slam your testes in the fridge door, you'll regret it. I have one fitted, what an utter waste of money!!!! there is no depth perception, it'll look like you're right up close to what you're backing up to, only to find you could still fit a moderatly sized aircraft carrier in the gap behind you. Honestly, put it back in the box take the reciept and get your money back.......please!
  16. Parcel arrived today with my bits inside. The fastest delivery of all time, methinks! No sooner do I think "the weather's nice I'll crack on with this" and it starts slinging it down! Still, had enough time to fit the pop charger, so it's not all bad. will have a crack at the plenum spacer tomorrow. Thanks again for your help and advice, Phil, and I'm looking forward to dealing with you again. Carleton ps. my engine warning light has now come on since fitting the charger, will this go out once the ecu picks up the mod?
