its all rubbish the ecu and the voltage delivered, i had led sidelights in my corrado and the did the same and on the corrado the lights get fed 9 volts and the ecu is made of dinosaurs teeth it usually just means they are on their last legs when they do that, i have them in my Z and they have been fine since last september (touch wood), mine are the quad led type, were yours ? got mine off ebay aswell

it will show swirls and water marks very easily, any dark colour will, so if you're fussy and lazy its not a good colour imo certainly not a colour you could just wash and leave without drying off as it would look horrendous
