not been there since I was 15! Wouldn't be able to drive and claim the cost back - not that I'd want to drive in that place either! I can get to my mum's house in southern France quicker and cheaper than I got to London yesterday!

I had to attend a meeting yesterday at Millbank Tower - my first trip to the big smoke since a school trip! I was relying on public transport - nightmare! Train from York got stuck between York and Doncaster for about 40 mins as the train in front had broken down. My meeting was re-scheduled by an hour to compensate. Finally got to Kings Cross and had to get a tube train to Pimlico. I couldn't believe how claustrophobic and hot the underground was! Anyway, that train was stuck in a tunnel so I had to find my way via other tubes then hoof it over to Millbank. Took me 4 hours in total and cost..............£205!!!!!! No wonder people drive! How anyone can stand doing all that Tube business every day is beyond me - it would give me permanent migraine! Got to do it all over again in a fortnight - can't wait!

bizarre! What makes it more odd is the fact it went in for a service and they never noticed anything wrong - like no oil etc. Wierd........

they ask you as part of the form filling in - they asked me when they got me a few weeks ago for the same thing. I never got a fine though - had to get new plates and get it signed off by an MOT station though which was far more hassle!

that would be far too instant - something more lingering would be good!

it's not like they could be quick and subtle by walking past and keying the door - they have spent time on that and quite clearly didn't give a @*!# if anyone even saw them do it. They should be tied to a pole in the town centre and let people throw stuff at them.

absolutely agree with the above comment. Wait and see what your true outgoings really amount to when the time comes. At the end of the day you're still very young and have many years of sports car ownership ahead! On the other hand, you only live once....................

I suppose I'm relatively new compared to some of you and have not been party to any fall outs or anything. Val always gave me good advice and was very helpful to me so I can only judge by my own experience although I know there were some personality clashes with others. I am not sure that opening up a debate about someone who is no longer here is worthwhile or useful. I do feel however that this is a very well run site and long may that continue.

bizarre! It's so annoying when you can't immediately diagnose something that seems as if it should be obvious. Thank goodness you've got another car to use! Hope you get it sorted - keep us posted won't you?
