Hi there and welcome. You can use the same wax as you do on your paintwork to protect your wheels, although you can get wax especially for your wheels as well. Have a look on www.detailingworld.co.uk for advice.
Tim's as shown in the pic is the correct size although it's not a standard size that is generally stocked. Mine is a bit smaller and you can see tiny bits of the hole at each side.
Surely it's not about saving £2.50, it's about not paying the extra £2.50 now, then in a few months time, then again and again and again as it slowly creeps up and up and costs double what it costs now.
on the subject of washers - my left one shoots water to the side, completely missing the windscreen and squirting pedestrians (which is quite funny). I've tried poking a pin in but it hasn't made any difference.
