    My Zed

Well I've had the car a few months now and done various bits to it, as we all do. the most recent additions being a new clutch (thanks Alex), 20mm & 25mm Spacers and today, a vinyl covering on the roof. The Nismo Kit and Full Veilside titanium exhaust were already fitted to the car before I bought it Time to tidy up the interior, so I've just got some glyptone leather restorer, so thats a job for next week.. I cant believe I even considered selling it, as Im gonna need a van for work, think I'll try raise the cash another way.. Anyway, love it or hate it, heres some pics:
  2. Can you give me a complete price posted to Leeds, West Yorkshire and approximate delivery times please?
  3. just wondering if anyone has any opinions, advice or if anyone has had the same problem. Over the past few days, for the first 20 minutes or after starting the car, the clutch seems to slip, its the usual high gear, low revs thing, where I put my foot down and the clutch slips slightly with the revs being a little erratic in comparison with road speed. Its not major, maybe only a couple of hundred rpm, but after the car is warmed up, I can put the car in a high gear at low revs, floor it, and everything seems fine. So my question is, could it be a hotspot on the clutch, an inherrant fault or is it the start of the clutch failing? Im using the car for a daily 30 mile commute, mainly motorway driving and I obviously dont want a complete clutch failure, on the other hand, I dont want to be shelling out a fortune on a new clutch if its nothing to worry about. Cheers Phil

  6. As I work in TV and film, I thought I'd take the opportunity to get my car on set of the new series of DCI Banks which is due out later this year. The pictures aren't great as they were taken on my phone.
  7. well, it now seems that both my windows are playing up. I've read the guides thoroughly on how to clean the bushes etc, but think its too big & fiddly a job for me to take on. just wondered if theres anyone in the Leeds area who has done this before & would be good enough to lend a hand, lunch and coffee/tea supplied
  8. I understand the disclaimer thing, but we were doing nothing illegal, not speeding etc, he didnt use the rest of his throttle because it'd be daft to be side by side, or having to break the speed limit to overtake. Anyway, thanks for the input, I know the zed is heavy, just guess I didnt expect the power he had. I've had evo's etc that would blow away the zed, but as has been said, for comfort mile munching, then its hard to beat
  9. A friend at work has an astra VXR, bog standard and after a few discussions, we decided that we would see who could out accelerate who. so on the way home yesterday, we exited a roundabout, which entered a very wide and straight dual carridgeway. with nothing in front of me, I floored it. To my suprise, he kept with me all the way to 60mph, and said afterwards, that he still had a little left on the throttle. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought a 350Z would be quicker that that, either that or my car needs to be seriously looked at.
  10. Can you tell me what size tyres I'd need for the 19" wheels please, gonna look for some prices, and will these fit ok with no modifications with standard brembos
  11. ok mate, I'll take them, pm me your paypal addrees please
  12. I was lucky enough that when I bought my latest Zed a couple of months ago, that it came fitted with a Veilside Titanium exhaust. I havent got any ramps to get under the car, so not sure if its just a rear box or a cat back system. I would imagine that anyone who origionally put on a full nismo kit and a veilside exhaust probably didnt scrimp and went for the full cat back. I've been looking all over to find some info on it, availability, cost etc, but keep drawing a blank. It really does sound immense when the revs get up though Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for some info on it Cheers Phil

  20. Ive had my Zed about 4 weeks now, not had one for 4 years and its great to be back behind the wheel. The car has had a few things done to it, but the thins I'd like to know are, are you able to tell visually if its had a plenum spacer fitted? if so, what should I be looking for? And secondly, whats the best way to give the pop charger a good clean? Cheers Phil
