  1. When you get to almost 70 tell me this again lol
  2. I'm surprised no one has bought one of these. This is the one I've decided on but it's out of stock until April, so I've put my name down and will report back. Getting the car off the ground is half the work so hope this works ok. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electric-Wheelnut-MAKES-WHEEL-CHANGES/dp/B00ANKV9GQ
  3. Is it possible that the starter motor bendix could have got stuck in the flywheel and dropped out while working on it? Not sure but thought it might be another possibility. Edit.. Read it again and think I may have got the wrong end of the stick. Still suffering from New Years party I guess !
  4. Anyone recommend or Curse a 12v Jack. Been looking around but getting conflicting reviews. Would like a 2 ton but could get away with a 1 or 1 1/2T.
  5. Just came across this article on the Honest John website. Apparently you squirt Slime into your punctured tyre, inflate and drive off. The tyre can then be cleaned and a professional repair carried out. It only seems to be available from USA but has anyone know anything about it or better still used it? http://www.honestjoh.../2011-08/slime/
  6. Can't believe the battery is at fault here. When the engine is started the battery doesn't do anything, it only receives charge. All the voltage and current are supplied by the alternator. Check to see if you voltmeter is running at around 13v with engine running. Or turn on the headlights, heater etc then see if Reg headlights go brighter when you rev up. If so the alternator is ok, if not its on the blink.
  7. Thanks for the reply young man. I've searched the Internet and can't find anything to explain it. I've emailed the supplier but not heard back yet. I'm starting to think it's their own identification system they use when selling lots of parts. When I find out I'll update the post. Bought the wife this S-max which is the first car I've had that comes without a wheel of any kind and not even a Jack. What's going on. Why would anyone squirt a load of gunge into a new tyre that will destroy it, when it can be repaired for a fraction of the price. This has got to be a con the industry are trying to force us into.
  8. Had mine out a few weeks ago and pretty sure this unit just pulls out. Remove the two screws on the LHS and RHS which I can see you've done on the LHS. As I recall the outer screws hold a bracket mounted on each side of the Bose and the inner ones hold the air con box. Here's the guide I followed http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/45398-how-to-bose-phono-ipod-hack-guide/
  9. Looking to buy a spare wheel for the wife's new S-max. Seen a couple on eBay but don't understand what part of the description means. This is the description below: FORD GALAXY MK3 S-MAX 2006-2014 ALLOY WHEEL R18 WITH VERY GOOD TYRE LV07-4 What does LV07-4 or EN07-2 and similar terms mean.
  10. You guys are obviously budding geniuses. Don't laugh but I never thought the info would be available on the web sphere. I'm getting old you know, I come from a time when the telephone was at the end of the street and all you needed to know was which of two buttons to press...A or B........ask your dads ha ha Thank lads most appreciated
  11. I had thought the PCD would be 360/5 = 72 deg but having read your post I looked it up in Wikipedia and they quote 4 different PCD's but there in millimetres. I Assume this relates to the arc length between bolt centres. I'll get my string out and try it. Thanks for your input
  12. Bought a Ford S- max for the wife. The wheels are 5 stud 18" and was wondering if I need a Ford wheel or if any 5 stud 18" will work and do I need to take iaspect ratio and tyre width into account. Thanks
  13. I probably got the idea from you then because I remember seeing that someone on the forum had done it.
  14. Don't blame you Jimmy, it's to cold just now, good luck!
  15. Just a bit of luck really. When I first tried it in the cubby and it fit so snugley it inspired me.
  16. Decided to install my Tom Tom Go 530 into the front cubby the other day and to carry out the Bose Phono/iPod hack Posted by Husky a while ago (see Guides).....Apologies for the poor picture Removed the Tom Tom to computer docking station USB, removed the power supply cable mini USB and connected the two cables together to get power to the Tom Tom from the passenger side 12v power socket. Because the Tom Tom on/ off switch is mounted on the top I had to open it up, drill a small hole in the back and connect a wire in parallel with the on/off switch and route it to the small red switch you can see in the picture to allow you to turn it on and off. The Tom Tom, when sitting on the docking station, fits perfectly and snug into the cubby so no need to secure it. I then carried out Husky's Bose mod and terminated the wire in a 3.5mm jack socket seen in silver on the left of picture. Mounting the jack socket was a bit of a struggle as the plastic is thicker than the thread length on the socket (had to counter bore it) and cutting a hole in the cubby rubber base to line up with the socket mounted in the plastic was a bit of a fiddely mission also. Anyway the end result is tickety boo and my daughter can now find her way around the country and play her iPone music at the same time. SATISFACTION
  17. I sprayed mine a while back and used Peugeot Silver from Halfords. I was well pleased and think it's a good match. Anyway a blind man on a galloping horse would never notice.
  18. Thanks lads will look into it
  19. Anyone know of a place where you can hire a ramp, the hydraulic or electric lift type used in garages. Want to get under the car to do deal with any corrosion that might be going on.
  20. Could it be something to do with the alarm disarming. Whey not get out, shut the door again (don't lock it) wait a while, then get in again without the alarms deactivating and see what happens? Maybe it's the door lock motor or window motor humming following activation. After that I would look try isolating the noise by removing fuses in turn for each possibility you can think of and see if it disappears
  21. BUMP......Still here and winters coming!
  22. Turning the air con on sorts it quickly. BUT when turning it off again mine steams up again because the air cons been on. No winning this one
  23. Price Drop....now £100 ...(the £20 drop will probably cover delivery charges)
