  1. The BOSE set-up has a few quirks as follows:- 1. The output is at a different level, meaning you need an adapter to get an aftermarket head unit to work with the BOSE amp. 2. The BOSE amp is constantly on, for the purposes of the hands free technology in the headunit. Depending on the quality of the grounding in individual cars, this is audible when the headunit is off through floor noise coming through the speakers (white noise) 3. The components aren't the best quality, so upgrading the head unit and using an adaptor actually does nothing for sound quality. It is all lost through the adaptor, amp, cabling and speakers. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link..... 4. Steering wheel controls can be maintained using different adaptors, but this is usually through the aux port on a headunit. This means that no other aux options can be used with the head unit if you wish to have steering wheel controls 5. The hands free kit technology is in the BOSE head unit and as such when removed you remove this capability If you want a better sound, that you will truly notice, sound deadening behind the front speakers is about the only thing you can do if you retain any of the original components in the chain. You can add functionality, get iPod and bluetooth and a prettier look through after market head unit. Zedrush's seems to work. I would recommend Alpine everytime as well. HTH.
  2. Have a good one Stevie. I trust the car has been left in the care of the squirrels.......
  3. Alpine every time Nixy. Their software overides the Apple stuff for replaying the tunes and the interface works really well.
  4. Ooops. Not the prettiest sight.
  5. yes its a 350Z-UK calendar mate, there is another thead where each member is invited to post a pic - closes dec 14th then there will be a poll, the 12 with the highest votes get to go into the calendar welcome back Ta! Cheers bud. Needed a break, should've taken the Zed for Nothe Devon's roads though.......!!
  6. I thought Denttec used the paintless, sucker-less approach and got something behind the door skin and massaged it out.......
  7. Bracknell is lovely Suggest you wander around the High St or Princes Square after dark and see what you think. Why do you imagine that Oracle, SeeBeyond, Met Office, etc, etc choose to move out??? Come back in 10 years if the refurb gets off the ground. Now you could look at Ascot, Sunninghill, Virginia Water, but then your 350k won't go far There is a never fail check for the quality of medium size English towns and it goes like this - check out the restaurants in the middle of town... * Premier League - several high quality chains like Est Est Est or maybe even a Conran-a-like gastro pub * 1st Division - Ask, Cafe Rouge, etc * 2nd Division - Pizza Express, Cafe Nero, etc * Ryman's Premier - Pizza Hut * Sunday Pub League - McDonalds ...guess what you'll find in Bracknell Pregnant teenagers!
  8. Am trawling through 229 unread posts from hols, so apologies..... Is this a 350Z-UK calendar. What cars etc? Assuming it is, I'll have one.
  9. 1. beavis 2. Louis + sarah 3 Martin + Liz 4. Chesterfield (Chris) + Tracy 5. M13KYF + Karen 6. Gixxeruk (paul) 7. Andy (Provisionally) 8. xstric9x(Mike) + Bex 9. H5 I will take a look into this over Xmas, just got back off hols and work mad this week. I am happy to help organise the stand etc and call the organisers to make sure we get a full set-up. IIRC, an area for all the cars in about £150 but that includes at least 3 driver tickets plus reduced fees for other club cars. They may change it for 2008.....
  10. Don't know for sure on the other car wash stuff, but I used some CG Maxi Suds II through it and it worked better than with the Flash wash IMO..... As long as it isn't too thick I would think you'd be OK.
  11. In a more real world way, ask yourself the same question using a 350Z and Audi TT as your reference points.....
  12. I think you have that the wrong way round bud. Take a look at the technology and electronics that keep a G on the road vs. an F430...... I'll give you one to start, 4WD vs RWD.....
  13. Especially once they've had the Stevie touch. They don't look so black! git I used a squirrel to clean it You're supposed to use the tail and body, not the claws!
  14. Hate sounds like a strong word.... Glad you feel you've made the right decision. Each to their own. As for the drive, that is the difference between something you 'feel' and become part of the machinery, and something that does a lot for you..... 350Z vs TT, Gallardo vs F430 I guess. Now lets hope the repair and insurance all goes smoothly.
  15. When your ears are as low to the ground as Sarnies are you tend to pick up lower sounds, they travel further. He is clearly a deaf goon!
  16. +1 -1. Ferrari for me I'm afraid. I'd have a Lambo too, but for me the Fez wins hands down.
  17. Tut, flimsy as well as expensive......
  18. +1 I would almost get in contact with the other insurers first and make sure they are aware you have a car so they get things moving too.
  19. Be careful mate. Seriously, the Elise got hit a year ago, anf throught all the denial etc it still isn't settled. Which means as far as the insurance on the Elise is concerned, there is a claim outstanding, therefore nil no claims bonus until it is resolved. Unless you settle the insurance bill off yourself...... Which at that amount is unlikely!! The only reason we haven't done that is we took an Accident Exchange car tht we ended up with for a month and it cost about £10k.
  20. Hmm, never heard of accident exchange giving people better cars than theirs before......

    Newbie Questions!

How did you wangle a car for a week out of Nissan??? Any ipod thingy would need to be an aftermarket option i think.... Pearl white has only just been added to the uk colours but there should be some pics of imports on here somewhere... I averaged 24 mpg in my zed 17-17 does sound like a lot of traffic and then hard driving New model around recently so there shouldn't be a new one for a couple of years.... +1 except I get about 25-26 average. The fuel consumption in the Bimmer will be a lot more as you tend to burn more waiting at side roads while no-one lets you out naturally assuming you are a to$$er. Welcome to the site.
