When I'm using my TTG it bluetooth's to my phone and that's great cos Texts appear on the TTG screen. However, when I get a call I'd sort of assumed it would be a Hands-Free type alternative, but when I press answer although I can clearly hear the caller throught the TTG loudspeaker, they cant hear me! So, is there a mic. in the TTG or am I missing part of the jigsaw? Thnx

Are you sure? - I maybe confused but then I'm old! Chilli's aren't as rare as white ones - I've only seen mention of two in the UK.
-
Been thinking about Chilli rarity. I assume its because the colour wasn't available until quite recently. Certainly wasn't in the range when I was choosing during first half of 2005. So most of the other colours have been availble a lot longer, and therefore there will be more of them! JohnK

BLADE/GM they all look the same Coupe leaving Wallingford

I blame senility - I think thats what they call it. The colour was correct in my memory - but the database lookup went one to far down the list. Thanks to the mods! JK -

Realised last night this wasnt GM but was a Blade! Can a mod change the topic title? Ta. -
Got two midi-towers in the boot this week. Bit of a squeeze but just went in. One's a doddle. The real pain is CRT monitors - they tend to end up on the passenger seat. Tomorrow morning is one tower, a scanner and six Belkin power surge adaptors plus my small tool box and emergency cable tray. Cheers!

I think it looks better in the flesh than the pics. Ting-Tong's got one but not sure if he posts here. (Not is bright as Ultra Yellow though! - I wanted a white one but n/a from Nissan UK)

I'm not looking forward to mine going in even for just 24 hours so you have my sympathies. Interested by your "350ZR"! Does that make mine a "350ZC" (or even a "350ZCGT4") ? Cheers!

Morning all! I think the above option is great and use it all the time (and wish more sites had it ), but... There have been one or two occasions when, through my own fault, I've gone off-site and when I've come back (within a few minutes) clicking on the link gets me zero topics. That set me thinking it might be nice if there was another quick option that enabled a user to View posts in last x hours. It would also be a good way of doing a re-cap. If there isn't a way to do this (I might just be ignorant) is it worth thinking about? Cheers, JohnK

The "offending" GM didn't have a passenger - I dont think! JohnK

Funny, I didn't find the ESP intrusive at all. Only saw the warning light once or twice all day. Perhaps I'm too slow! JohnK

Stevie_350z... If I do another one I'll probably change/upgrade the Brake Fulid & Pads beforehand. More than 5 laps and things smell like they're cooking. (But I want to keep my car as near OEM as poss.) Steve_b... Thanks for the offer. If (or when!) I sign up for another I'll be in touch. Cheers, JohnK

Hi Steve. Didn't feel anyone was catching me on the straights (apart from the TT) but one of the other GMs (standard I think) seemed to be quicker than me through the corners/chicane. It may be just an impression... I tried the chicane in both 2nd and 3rd on different laps and top speed at the end of the following straight was exactly the same (104mph with son in car, 105mph without!). Watched the Grand Prix today - maybe its just the closing effect of slowing down for a corner and then hammering away.... JohnK p.s. Want to practise with ESP off before I commit to it - I used to be able to steer a 3-litre Capri with the throttle pedal but I'm a lot older now! (And tyres are a lot dearer!)

At a recent Track Day I had a great time but noticed one thing that intrigued me. It seemed my car was slower through the corners than other Zs. In discussion it seemed the other guys were using 3rd & 4th for virtually all the corners, and I was dropping into second for at least two of them. Since then there has been discussion regarding the performance of the two different spec engines (300ps vs 280ps?) and it seems my extra (it's a GT4) may be at an expense of Torque lower down. So was that why I felt the need for 2nd? Or was it my old fashioned driving style? On general driving I sometimes feel the car is not as fast through the corners as I'd like it to be (people keep catching me!). Is that the heaviness of the Z or am I just not brave enough? Discuss.... JohnK

As some of you know I recently did my first track day (well, for 30 years) at Abingdon, and had a great time. I'd like to go again but next time with two specific objectives: 1) I want to turn off ESP for the whole day. 2) I'd also like to have a go in the wet I realise 2) is down to luck but if you know of somewhere that can do it artifically I'd be interested. My only disappointment with Abingdon was the "No timing" rule. Not because I want to show off but because I'd like to know how different techniques affect speed as well as handling. Are there Track Days where timing is allowed? Or should I look for Motor Club Sprint type events? JohnK p.s. My car is OEM standard. I dont want to fit roll-over bars, full harness seatbelts, fireproofing, etc, etc.

Aren't the Laser Detectors ilegal to use, or about to become so? (Just checking!) JohnK

That's great. Shame we cant get a copy without buying QuickTime.... JohnK

Seen it twice now so think it might live there. Anyone here? JohnK

"Rubbish is good" Reminds me of how I became a "Yob". Jezza said tat 350Zs are driven by Yobs. Ergo I'm a Yob! JohnK p.s. I browse both sites. I like the people. They answer my stupid questions. Just dont want to pay for discount on oil and club stickers....

" ... be careful out there." (copyright: Hill Street Blues) Hope you can keep posting! JohnK p.s. Was it you who posted the aviation pics? Any more would be appreciated by my son (who keeps wanting to know when he can have my car!)

ScreenTech number is 07831 193999. That's David Lee (the Boss?) - Wheel-ace was Simon.

Hi. Wheels done by a local company called ScreenTech (or TrimTech, or DentTech or WheelTech - all the same org.). They're in Witney, W. Oxfordshire. Dont know he got the colour match but he only sprayed the rims and the blend with the rest of the wheel looks fine to me. I'm well pleased. I did notich he did a grey primer first, then a black base coat and then the translucent silver. He said it was the same finish as some Merc. Alloys but that many cars end up having them sprayed an ordinary silver because the job can be such a pig. He also didn't even take the wheels off the car, let alone break the bead. Said the damage to the rim could be dealt with without it. Took him 3 hours for the two wheels. I'm being very careful now Cheers JohnK

So...what's wrong with the 350Z?

I'll be interested in your view of getting anyone into and out of the back (even with the half door open). JK -
What's happened to the trackdays show for 30th April?
WoREoD replied to Grant's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
Would seriously consider the drive but just realised its the weekend that marks the end of my finiancial year and a two-day stocktake. Perhaps another time... JK
