  1. A friend of mine had his car done by a company called H-Tech I think it was. Seemsed liek a pretty good job but was a while ago he got it done. Sorry I can't be more help. by the way
  2. Agreed. These are very good pieces of equipment. I am sure someone will get a bargain.

  4. That's very interesting!! Do you have any more details such as exact mods and where he got the car set up? Cheers.
  5. Jay went with spacers I believe both with the original wheels and the RS8's that are in the pictures. I 'think' he also had problems with some of the kit craking where it had been blended in which is a bit of a nightmare tbh!! I agree though, it does give the car a much more finished and smooth look.
  6. As far as I know, the JDM ECU's are a bit more leniant but still eventually re-calculate after a period of time. Someone else will be able to confirm this I am sure. The Plenum works by directing the air flow more evenly and efficiently to the rather than the standard one which is a bit chaotic. However, this increase of air led to mine running lean so I guess it is a double edged sword. The ECU is the best way forward but better to get some mods first to get the best out of the ECU and setting up time.
  7. Great news!!! Welcome to Z ownership!
  8. Well, first thing would be to get it done at the same place for both runs +1 hence why I went back to the same place as before. Confirmed none of their equipment had changed and they loaded up my results from last year to compare temps, conditions etc etc and they were pretty much exactly the same so could confidently discount any major environmental factors effecting the results which is why I am confident I got a sound reading to compare to last years.
  9. madmarky I'll try and answer your questions as best I can... I have plenty of speed bumps round my way as well but haven't currently lowererd mine although I have had some Tein coilovers sat in my garage for a fair few months now!! I am running on 20's as well and at the moment, I am happy with the ride and ride height. For example, I went on a Rolling Road day yesterday and my sideskirts missed fouling on the ramps by less than 5mm. If the car was lowered there was no chance of me getting on there. Leaving the ride height as it is also means speed bumps really aren't an issue for me. 20's are a direct fit so long as you get the correct fitments. You shouldn't need to roll the arches at all. Mine are 9's at the front and 10's at the rear, can't remember the offsets off the top of my head so will have to confirm those when I can. For the front number plate, I just made up a couple brackets and fabricated my own hanger in the front bumper. I'll add some pics below so you can see what I mean. As for the exhausts, I have the full Nismo exhaust and the cutouts are perfect for it. The Nismo has the same size pipes as standard though and retains the original mounting brackets so you shouldn't have any problem with that and tbh it seems to be the favoured option to go for. I wouldn't like to comment for definate on any other exhaust but I would have thought that if you got the exhaust on first, any decent bodyshop should be able to manipulate the fibreglass without too many dramas to make a decent fit. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any others if I can help Some general pics of the VSIII kit & location of front plate Wheel Clearance Nismo Exhaust Clearance
  10. WHP figure for the run today was 219.9, will have to dig out last years one from the garage tomorrow
  11. As far as the fuel goes, this time, I filled up yesterday with Shell Optimax. I couldn't say for certain how long the fuel was in there last time but the chances are that it was less than a week as the Z is my daily driver and I do a fair bit of mileage in her. I only ever use Optimax so would have run it on that last time too. Kev, I am only going by what the operator suggested to me. I would only believe it if I was handed the new Rolling Road prinout once the ECU is on there so it will be a case of see what happens once it is on I think! As far as doing a Rolling Road day, I am more than happy to organise one for the South East area. The place I went to was Surrey Rolling Road which is near Chobham, just off J11 on the M25. I have used them 3 times in total now and they seem ok. http://www.surreyrollingroad.co.uk/
  12. Further from a previous post that was up a few weeks ago, here are my rolling road graphs with 'before' and 'after' results. Previous rolling road I had a non heat shielded filter alone and that gave me 268.4 bhp at the flywheel with c240ft/ib torque. See graph below for readouts. I have now had the car re-done today at the same place and almost exactly a year later but I now have the K&N Typhoon Kit, larger Plenum, Hi-Flo Race Cats and Nismo Exhaust. The result was I got 268.1 bhp at the flywheel and c248 ft/lb torque. Graph below shows the readouts. The operators comments were that the majority of the Z's he has run usually give these figures so mine was nothing out of the ordinary. He has seen a significant number of Z's actually loose bhp with just an exhaust added. The other interesting point is that last year the car was overfueling very slightly but now with the new larger plenum, the Z is struggling with fuel and is now running lean. With confidence, he said with a decent ECU mod, the car would be running good power, potentially in the c320bhp area so looks like that's probably the next move for me. Hope this has helped in some way or another
  13. Excellant!!! Might be in touch at the end of March
  14. "Transport Secretary Ruth Kelly watched as the first sections of earth were dug from what will be the longest road tunnel under land in the UK." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/surrey/7221857.stm I think the South East Mafia have found a new meeting place!!
