The car is always garaged so i'm not too worried about that, not sure where they would ice up either I have never understood the whole, being able to open the doors in a crash' thing either.....what happens if your doors are locked from the inside? I hear what you are saying though and do need a secondary way of getting into the car.

Sorry for posting in the wrong section Martin, wasn't sure where was best!! Was just thinking about his car as last I heard he was over at TDI @ Thurrock having the ecu dealt with. Founding member of the SE Mafia as well!

Cheers for looking mate. That is what I have at the moment, I have run a jump point off the battery to a hidden location. Do you know if this is how the TVR's are wired up?? Cheers Stew, will check it out
  5. Anyone heard from Jeremy lately??
  6. Can anyone recommend a good one that will charge the Z sufficiently well bearing in mind it needs a fair amount of power?? Any tried and tested ones?? Cheers

    Door Poppers

As some of you may know from my rebuild thread, I have smoothed my door handles off and modified the stock solenoids to now pop the doors instead of unlocking them. I was wondering if anyone knows how TVR get round the problem of getting the doors to open even if the battery is dead?? I am assuming there is some kind of mechanical entry as well? I don't need to use this yet but the way I have it at the moment is a bit long winded if the battery goes so am looking for a better more efficient solution. Any ideas??
  9. Looks awesome, glad you got the shipment ok. There is something very satisfying about the first clean of the year after winter!
  10. Fantastic Colin! The car is barely yours and you have made a couple of great mods there, can't wait to see it in person!!
  11. Will be touch and go on the front but a shim should pull it away enough if it is touching. Front tyre sizes are cool. I am running 275's on he back of mine but Stew runs 285's. Down to personal preference really and as you say the 275 will give a very slight stretch so might help if you are lowering as well. I believe Stew has lowered his on 20's so he may be able to advise as well.
  12. +1 when its done you'll want to put it in a glass case and admire it rather than drive it It is a bit of a pain but I enjoy doing it and at least it gets done my way by doing it myself!! No chance of a glass case though, it's being built to be driven
  13. You are correct, the Z center bore is 66.1. What wheels have you gone for? You are also right in the Z fitment being M12 x 1.25
  14. Another small update. I have been concentrating on the bodywork for the last couple of weeks as I want to get the car repainted asap. I started by taking the front bumper off and giving it a full strip back to remove some stone chips followed by wet & drying it all. I also removed the reflectors and cleaned them up as they had some overspray on them. The other major thing that needed to be done was mending the front arches as they had cracked in several places and the mounting points needed reinforcing. I started by filling all the mounting holes with P40 filler to give a strong finish. I then started rubbing them back with various grades of sandpaper and wet and dry paper, going from coarse to fine. Wet & drying towards the end of smoothing The fibreglassing, filling and wet & drying was repeated until I had a good fit on the car and the arches were smooth. Once I was happy with them, they had a coat of filler primer. On the car ready to be painted after a final prep
