  1. hey, just thought I would drop back in and give an update. still searching for the right car however I think the 350 is back as the preferred, having looked hard and long at both 350 and rx8 yes there both nice, both handle well, costs about same running wise but we (yes, the missus and I) both think if im going to get a fairly expensive, reasonably powerful car I might as well do it properly and get a V6. that and she prefers the 350z so, eyes open for a 2003-2005 GT with black leather and sat nav!!! A friend of mine owns an import company, is there anything I should look out for if I choose to import a zed? seems I could get a 2003 or so for an absolute steal of a price but having never looked at imports I need advice! Cheers again ps - lexx - still open to that offer of a look at yours? its too new for my budget but it would be nice to be shown around one by someone who knows about them, perhaps show me how to get best out of the engine too?
  2. well, i took the rx8 out for a drive and i must say, im swayed much more towards that than the 350, it just felt 'nicer'. had that something the 350 lacked. still like the 350 but for now i think im going to be looking for an rx8. that is unless a z turns up at a 'too good to say no' price
  3. an nice thought, shame eh! Will report back my thoughts later, Im not really sure what to expect with the rex. Im used to high revving cars, last two have revved to 7500 and 8300 so a step to 9500 is nice
  4. cheers lexx, nice to here pretty unbiased opinions of both cars! Ive managed to book a test drive of a 2008 RX8 for later today to see how it compares to the 350Z. Im not looking for an all out power machine, it has to tick all the boxes. I have searched the site for RX8, doesnt allow it as its too common a term! tried mazda and got 25 pages of results! crazy for a nissan forum! Some good info tho and I certainly have no worries going to look at either car having read so much about them on here. It is interesting how many have went from RX8 to 350Z tho! at least im looking in the right direction!
  5. cheers for all the welcomes lexx - can I ask, I see an old post on JNE from yourself, did you used to drive RX8? How does it compare day to day to the 350Z? I know Z is more powerful car but on daily basis how you find both? these are my two choices and I just am not sure 350z pros - more powerful feels heavier uses less oil cons - cant afford one until spring/summer no back seats higher insurance costs RX-8 pros - can afford a 231ps version now back seats lower insurance more comfortable ride cons - uses more oil less powerful I hate choices
  6. cheers for the welcomes. lexx - I run tunedcar.co.uk I dont get out to many events tho, so busy working I hardly have the time! Typically a spanner has just been thrown in the works in the way of my manager selling his RX8... bit concerned about the unknown, cant go wrong with a big fat V6
  7. Hi all, Just a quick intro for you. Im Marko, from the North East. Im 25 this year and have been driving since 17. Also a qualified observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists. Currently driving a Toyota Corolla TSport but looking to get a UK 350Z GT spec towards summer just as soon as I have saved up enough to pay the difference! Im getting there! Have test drove a few and whilst the performance wasnt as MUCH as I was hoping for I absolutely love the looks, feel and driving position of the 350z and feel the little hike in performance is something that I could improve myself with a few mods, namedly intake and nismo exhaust for now. I have plenty questions regarding this but wont ask until have had a good read over threads! I run my own car club up here (dont know rules on advertising so will refrain for now) so I know my way around a motor, hopefully my knowledge can help some on here! Im also an electromechanical engineer by trade and by uni, specialise now in industrial automation. Looking forward to getting to know you all and if anyone is after a smaller, 35mpg hot hatch...
