Hi and welcome!
-
But there in lies the problem: As soon as someone else asks a question about 'best shampoo', then that's 71 threads to trawl through. And then someone else asks, so that's 72 for the next person, and so on and so forth. By not using the search you then make it more difficult for the next person who does make the effort to use it. Besides, 70 posts really isn't that much to go through: You can scan the results and see pretty quickly if it's relevant to you. There's a difference between searching and not being able to find the info you wanted and not searching at all: One is understandable and, by mentioning what you searched for, people can guide you for the next time, and the other is just about as lazy as you can get and quickly fills a forum full of wasted threads. Whilst everyone needs a bit of help sometimes, to be expected to be spoon fed every little thing shows a certain amount of contempt for your fellow owners IMHO. No thread which answers a question is wasted IMO - there are many other threads whch qualify better for that description. There are about 60 threads hit daily here and I guess I only look at 3 or 4. As noted above, answering is voluntary and if you don't wish to answer (or answer through gritted teeth) then don't, plus if there are 70 threads which answer the same question, then by definition you only need to select one to look at And if no one answers the thread because they are so tired of typing out the same information time and time again? OP starts posting "bump", "anyone?". The reality is that someone will post up out of kindness but to post without even trying to search is an abuse of that kindness. I'm actually quite shocked that someone as intelligent as you, Dorian, would suggest that its OK to simply post questions without searching first and that its fine to clog up the forum with hundreds of threads all saying the same thing. If that's the case, why did you take the time to enter all those threads in the FAQ section? IMHO (and I do not necessarily express the views of the team here) its fine to search and fail and if you explain that I don't see a problem. On the other hand, if you can't put the effort in to search why should anyone make the effort to help you.

2005 Gunmetal - 35th Anniversary Edition (297bhp) 350z

Ad is much better but the photo link on PH isn't working. -
-1 any car with an import cries out i cant afford a uk car A bit harsh IMHO People do think it though, I think it depends on the car and if it there's a dodgy fog light or random mirror bolted on. Doesn't matter on a Skyline its just general opinion unless the car is import only From personal experience 95% of folk don't even know what a Zed is, let alone know that a square plate means its an import. You're mixing with the wrong people not everyone i know would know what a zed is but at least 80% would know a square plate is an import Not talking about people I know but people generally. 90% of my male friends would spot an import, 0% of the girls.

Sorted for you, Chris. This is a nice one:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/584926.htm

Definitely import or super-high mileage (100k+) on a UK car. How about this as an idea? http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16193 or http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12901

Hi and welcome! The cheapest (high mile imports) seem to be coming in under £10k at the moment. Nice start for a project....

was offering a PX/swap just not directly! Because a Teg and a TT are so similar. -

No offence, mate, but he hasn't tried too hard with his PH ad. If he wants to sell at that price in this market he needs to put the effort in. -
Nice job, Jim. Does anyone remember the guy who had the tan leather seats done on the old site? I've never seen that Zed again and wonder what happened to it.

Sake-bito, please do not spam other people for sale threads to promote your own. -
Just not true, Rob. From last month's EVO's choices:- Supermini - Fiat Panda 100HP Hot Hatch - Megane R26 Small Coupe - Zed Sports Saloon - M3 Big Saloon - M5 4X4/Estates - M5 Touring Sports Cars - Boxster Coupes/GTs - GT-R Convertibles - XKR Supercars - Ferrari 599GTB IIRC their best handling FWD car was a Teg. I could go on.... Without going back and looking at other cars they include in the categories, I'm not sure what the summaries mean. But 30% of them go to BMW, so I'm not wrong there! I am referring to the articles themselves, and the constant references to '3 series' this and '911' that. Just as I find it. I love cars with a passion, but I just find their reviews predictable. Rather less predictable of late - R8 trumps 911, GT-R trumps R8... I suspect the BMWs are there because they are the best in class. Clearly you don't like the mag and that's fine but there really isn't a German/overpriced bias beyond the fact that the Germans make a lot of mighty fine cars. Maybe you have an anti-German bias...

The lads a natural at this presenting lark.

I've owned a car that cost nearly 5 times a MY03 zed when new and had nearly twice as much power. I still love the zed and will buy a third in the non too distant future. Anyone with a braincell knows that the two are not comparable. You can't compare it to cars outside of its price and performance range. Compared to a Carrera GT, its crap. Compared to a Saxo, its amazing. He is a complete ****. He may not like it but he has no journalistic objectivity and is obviously trying to engineer a bit of notoriety. There are people on that thread slating the zed because there is one for £8k, what a load of @*!#. I was offered a Ferrari 360 last week (with 100k on the clock) for £20k, does that mean the rest are the worst cars in the world and lead to financial suicide? No. The bloke is a total knob imo. TBH I've never heard of his online mag before and having read that I won't be looking it up in a hurry. If he was any good he would be writing for a published magazine, what a ****. Not strictly true - check out the team behind Drivers Republic.

Hi Frank! Glad you remembered us and enjoyed the meet. These sites aren't mutually exclusive as some would have you believe.....
-
Well I am extremely jealous of you guys. I'm gutted that I missed out on this one. The photos are stunning and huge respect to Stew (ably assisted by Martin) for pulling together such a great meet. Please, please, please organise another one before my car goes back next July....

Ok, the guy doesn't like the Zed but the suggestion that its the worst handling car he's ever driven is just a rather poor attempt to be Clarkson-controversial. But then he gets uptight because people question its credibility...
