  1. Hi and welcome, Nick! Sounds like a good 'un for those South Central folk.
  2. Contract hire mine not personal contract purchase.
  3. This was my primary reason for buying mine with contract finance, I worked out the depreciation over the last few years and the deal I got matched that history. I give the car back to Nissan in 3 years (assuming I keep this one...see my other posts!!) Thus not having to sell it or face larger depreciation. I did the same over 18 months and my calculations were before the market nose-dived so makes better sense now. Only problem is I no longer really use the car but can't get rid for another 10 months without getting stung.

  5. Search, young jedi, its all there.
  6. Happy Birthday, Mark - y'auld git!
  7. When you are paying top dollar for a new car who wants a recon part on it? Plus, judging by the experience the majority here in the UK have with the Nissan dealer network, I wouldn't trust most of them to undertake any major work on a Zed. Marshalls may be different but most of them are used to working on Micras and not doing such a great job of that. A new car should be perfect - that is what you pay for. A repaired car is not a new car in my book, however well repaired it is.
  8. I hear you... really I do... I am not sure what to do... If the gearbox is replaced with a new one then the job is done no? The chances of it having the same problem are minimal, and the rest of the car seems fine. ( at this point) The car is on contract hire finance so will go back to Nissan in three years. Why the big call to reject the car? If it was the engine or electronics then I can see the point but a gearbox swap for new is no big deal?? I really do not want to have to deal with all of this and I just wanted sorted. If I reject the car, I have to wait another few weeks for another one and who's to say that one will be any better, maybe not the gearbox maybe something else. More hastle more time wasted. I will not except a repaired box thats for sure but a new one will do for me... A few days wait rather than a few weeks. I would imagine that Nissan will want to compensate me in some way for the inconvenience. Just as I was about to put a deposit down on a GTR and wait.... the prospect of owning another Nissan right now is not appealing. Like the GF says... I bet you wish you bought that BMW or Audi now!! How will you know that the new 'box is really new and not a recon?

Either I'm getting old or the one on the right is never 18 - probably both!
  10. I agree. I'm no consumer law expert but at this early stage I think you are within your rights to reject it outright but you must act now. How can you be sure they won't cobble together a fix that lasts weeks or months before its off the road again? If they replace the box how will you know its new and not recon? I'd speak to the CAB tomorrow and check on your right to reject. The longer you leave it the more likely you will be stuck with it.
  11. I know what you're looking at and out of the current crop its the one I'd be interested in.
  12. Nice install. Did you do it yourself?

I can't see them getting anywhere in disputing it. It can't be unreasonable to hand over your keys to someone brandishing a hammer. Its just that "stolen with the keys" term and how do you prove you have been carjacked and not just had it crushed to claim and clear finance ? it must happen ? Like any other claim it can be fabricated but you would have to report it to the police and most people would be put off by both committing insurance fraud and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
  14. Hi and welcome! Do we know you????
  15. PMSL at this - hope it was tongue in cheek given that one of them has cuddly toys hanging from his rear bumper....

Looking at the American sites there's no mention of 19" TDs just yet and the offsets for the GTRs look to be +20.
