I agree. I'm no consumer law expert but at this early stage I think you are within your rights to reject it outright but you must act now. How can you be sure they won't cobble together a fix that lasts weeks or months before its off the road again? If they replace the box how will you know its new and not recon? I'd speak to the CAB tomorrow and check on your right to reject. The longer you leave it the more likely you will be stuck with it.

I know what you're looking at and out of the current crop its the one I'd be interested in.

I can't see them getting anywhere in disputing it. It can't be unreasonable to hand over your keys to someone brandishing a hammer. Its just that "stolen with the keys" term and how do you prove you have been carjacked and not just had it crushed to claim and clear finance ? it must happen ? Like any other claim it can be fabricated but you would have to report it to the police and most people would be put off by both committing insurance fraud and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The 32-year-old driver stopped after his Nissan 350z was clipped by a Ford Mondeo on a roundabout on School Road. Three men, wearing balaclavas and wielding hammers, then forced him out of the vehicle and drove away. The incident happened on Sunday at 2130 BST. Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses. Left stranded The victim had been driving towards Manchester when the two cars collided on the roundabout at the top of School Road, between South Shore and St Annes. He was left stranded on the side of the road by his attackers. Police say the stolen azure blue Nissan and the dark-coloured Mondeo were seen heading towards junction one of the M55 motorway. DC Alan Quanbrough, of Lancashire Police, said: "We are very keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any further details relating to it." Sorry to hear this but if you are going to have non-locking ones and run it with them on day to day be prepared to lose a set on a regular basis. I eventually gave up and only put my fancy dust caps on for meets and special occasions. Shame it has to come to that. Remember that thread from when you had yours stolen Digsy? Yes...
