  1. That's one I hadn't thought of. Looks a bit small to me. Isn't it based on a Focus? Worth a look though if its in budget and snobby-arse will be happy with the Vulva badge.
  2. +1 I wouldn't fook around with tyres on a car with this sort of performance.
  3. Whoa, hold on a sec! He's an ignorant snob but in reality I think that only rules out Skoda and possibly some of the Korean marques. I never mentioned that we needed a prestige badge - I've already told him its a no go! I'm thinking 9-grandish on a Mondeo/Vectra or similar and the rest on a five door supermini (or bigger if we can stretch to it). The other option would be two Astra-sized cars but unless one was an estate I can't see it being a goer for a cross-europe trip. I was going to shy away from French/Italian cars for quality reasons - or am I just falling foul of out of date prejudices?
  4. Thanks Mark. Stuggling with those links though!
  5. You don't need to tell me, mate. I convinced another pal to go with an Octavia VRS as his company car a few years back and he had a real problem with the badge. That was until he drove it and realised what a bargain he'd got.
  6. You're not kidding! Went to Rhodes once with 6 lads on a drinking holiday. 6 lads, lots of lager, 1 sh1t-bin..........
  7. He doesn't know. Probably just to get from A to B!
  8. Any other tips? Fancy going at the beginning of September.
  9. OK, my best mate knows sod all about cars and wants me to help him replace his Freelander with two new motors. The criteria is a bit tight:- 1. £15,000 total spend across the two cars 2. Both must be less than 1 year old 3. He has a 2 year old and a new born so both must have five doors 4. One must be big enough to carry all children and paraphenalia and refined enough to drive across Europe on holidays 5. He's a bit of a snob so as unfair as it may be no Skodas etc. No need to make the jokes about selling the kids and buying a Zed coz I've done them already. Anyone have any thoughts?
  10. Hope the bad luck's behind you, fella!
  11. +1 Not keen and strangely they don't look that big on the photo.......
  12. Can't lower mine - it wouldn't make it into my yard! I know when the tyres need replacing because the car bottoms out when I take it through the gates.....
  13. At the latest to payment to me by next weekend Why so early? Come on Sarnie, get the wallet out again! I just can't commit so far in advance 6 weeks!!! Have you never heard of forward planning! You need to show those new rims off remember!
  14. 1. beavis 2. Stew 3. Ian 4. Morg 5. TheMinel 6. Zzzz... 7.lomoto 8. Digsy I was thinking maybe the Peak District or Trough of Bowland. I think the Lake District whilst beautiful is likely to be too busy to keep even groups of ten together unless we go off-season ( ). The smaller groups idea is good but Chris is right that at some point everyone has to get together for maximum impact. I'm not sure about adding a competition element. We don't want to encourage irresponsible driving - the last thing we want on these meets is accidents. This looks like it could be this site's "National" if we get it right.

  16. I can't understand why they're so dull. Its hardly a car for the shy and retiring! BTW I understand the blue roof on the Roadster is no more but you can have a grey roof if you spec the frost seats.
  17. Maybe, but trust me for peace of mind and also, resale and the cost of a full respray its definitely worth it! I know from experience, as my Azure looks like its been stood in front of a firing squad! its not that cheap, but the expense is worth it. You only have to look at a car thats had it vs one thats not...... Should've bought a Blade!
  18. What confuses me is that there are 3 or 4 UK Zeds there with monster wheels yet they don't seem to be members here or the other side nor does anyone ever spot them.........weird!
  19. Twilight grey is apparently much darker than GM.
  20. FFS Sarnie, speak to Chris @ Funkystyling! Even those who know what you're getting are only guessing here. I got centre caps and nuts but mine aren't the same and came from a different supplier. I find telephones very useful for this sort of enquiry, if a bit 20th century.....
  21. Hint There also is 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear on your car Believe me, by the time you get to about 3000 rpm it is loud! Supercharger, kinetix plenum and cats, nismo exhaust.... Time to back down now, Elrao's isn't your common or garden Zed!
