Hmmmmmmmm This is the first non GT pack zed on pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/311375.htm £17k but it is 3 yrs old and a bit overpriced imo. An 18 month old car right now is a 06 plate almost 56. There was a blue 07 non GT posted on here for £20k ish. Based on that I would hazard at a guess of about £18k for an 06 non GT zed based on a new price of £26,265. I assume your weighing up whether to have the GT pack? Nope. I'm weighing up whether to cancel my new car order as delivery doesn't seem to be getting any nearer. So, whats depreciation got to do with you cancelling your order? Surely if they're taking the ****, they are taking the ****. Not directly related but I'm leasing the car to free up cash for the business. We've got off to a flying start, which is great but will mean cashflow becomes very tight around next Spring/Summer. The increased turnover means I could actually do with spending a bit less on the car to give me some more flexibility when things get tight so I've been thinking about cancelling the order, something I can do without penalty given the delays. Back to the original question, the depreciation was just to give me an idea about how good my original deal was in comparison to buying. Pretty good actually! Decisions, decisions!

Zed is still in semi-retirement so was in the Micra...

No, you have though...

In a panic stop on dry pavement it's virtually impossible to actually lock the wheel with standard braking systems (including non-ABS) -- the decelerative force simply exceeds the tire's grip capacity. You may think the wheel is completely locked but it's actually still rotating. You lose a lot of rubber, but it's lost somewhat evenly around the whole tire. When the tire is hydroplaning though it's quite easy to completely lock the wheel and it will remain locked (particularly if there's some level of rubber reversion going on -- melting or melted rubber) when the car exits the plane, thus almost instant pop. When I was a student I locked the wheels on my Civic in an emergency stop and flat-spotted the tyres. It was a very long, smokey and scary stop though....

Thinking Digsy means from new, well that was what I based my figure of £10k on Spot on, Tim.

Ok guys, how much do you reckon a non-GT Zed doing no more than 10k miles a year would have depreciated at the 18 month mark? Your answers may help me make a decision.

The 18" rays come as standard. Just ordered a Nismo carbon gear knob and CTD short Shifter. Let the modyfying begin! Whats the best Ipod intergration kit available? A piece of string and two paper cups I think........

its not from top gear, its from clarksons dvd +1 from the dvd. i didnt think much of his latest dvd either, not as good as his others but even them wernt that good anyway. Yep, should have been good as some great cars on there but no real content and the script was decidedly sub-Top Gear.
