The latest Stones do quite well (for RWD at least) and the performance of the Pirellis is pretty shocking all round. Would have been interesting to have had a few more makes tested.

    Wheel Spacers

I thought it was high offsets which caused problems with the Brembos not low or -ve offsets which you obviously need. What are the offsets as they stand? Have you found anyone with the same kit on the American forums and asked them what they have done?

    Wheel Spacers

Erm I did, They actually come out past the arches by 5mm. but doesnt help when the new arches are alot wider than usual Sorry, mate, I don't understand. The wheels when fitted come out past the arches or sit inside the arches by 5mm? Spacers will only push them out further AFAIK. Lol, I need them to sit out further, by quite a bit lol, I am getting a new bodykit and the wheels will look sunk in OK, I think I've got this! Without the body kit they sit outside the arches by 5mm but with the kit on they sit too far inside. You want hubcentric spacers and I think Eibach do some which should be decent quality. As for downsides, IIRC they can cause undue wear but I can't remember if its driveshafts or hubs. The bigger the spacer the worse it is. Don't know if that will be magnified as your offsets must already be pretty aggressive. HTH

Why didn't you just buy wheels with the right offset?
  12. Lexx, weren't are cars delayed over Xmas because Nissan GB were waiting for alarm parts? I'm wondering whether ours are different.
  13. No doubt that the NISMO is the better looking exhaust - easily distinguished from stock as the pipes have NISMO on them and are straight at the tips, therefore it sticking out a little more. It does still look pretty OEM though.
  14. Hi mate. Welcome aboard! I'm not far away from you in Aigburth and the folks live in Rainhill so if you see another Twilight Grey about it could be me.... PS If we get snow that sticks I'd seriously consider postponing your pick up - its not worth bending your new toy for the sake of a few days. Where are you buying from?
  15. Looks like he was too busy polishing his lips to spend time on the zorst!

  19. Cheers guys!
  20. No good mate for my requirements - pipes are not mandrel bent. (sure they are good for other peoples needs though ) I'm a bit of a thickie - can anyone explain what mandrel bent means and why its better?
  21. Can't help you there - I'm in sunny Merseyside! Good luck with it.
  22. He's very wrong abut the BHP. Only MY07 cars from this spring on got that power (GT or not) and they can be easily spotted as they have the power bulge on the bonnet. The light should go out if you press the button to re-engage the TCS but it may need to be held for a second or two.

    My Shortlist

Would be worried about Alfa reliability and the TT has the exclusivity of an Escort and really isn't that good a car. For me it comes down to the BMW and the Zed. BeeEmm has the badge and feels a higher quality product but you do pay more for the privilege. The Zed is extremely good value for a fine sports car and drives just as well. I love the way both cars look but whilst pretty much everyone I know loves Zed, the BMW is a marmite car and many will think its fugly. As a final point, if you drive a Zed people generally are friendly and intrigued by it, if you get Beemer you may never be let out of a junction again.
