  1. We are all different personalities and it's a shame Val can't get on with the current team. Whilst he may not have always got on with evryone on this site he remained a true Zed enthrusiast, e.g. certainly more so than many of us me included. Persoanllly I always got on with Val so I'm sorry to see him gone and wish him all th best in the future. PS: I don't approve of posting up things he said when leaving during an emotional time, as I'm sure he didn't mean it all. Maybe the Italian temper took over, and he is now not able to defend himself. Anyway, Cheers Val and all the best...
  2. The London Lite said tonight that Alonso had seigned a letter of intent that he would be joining Renault for a 3 year deal from next year, so this is probably why. Also mean Alonso will have to pay to get out of his contract. I reckon $100M sounds about right..
  3. Sounds like your no hurry to sell may be moving along more quickly Once the idea of a new car is in your head...... Just trying to work out whether a trade in is an option and yes I'm impatient...
  4. Spoke to my BMW dealer ad they are giving me a price. I've also realised that Stratstone BMW also have a Lotus dealership. Plus they have some good deals on Exige S cars new..
  5. I've been invited to an evening with Jackie Stewart at Graypaul Maser/Ferrari Dealers in Nottingham, but can't make it damm it. You get to listen to 30mins presentation, meet the guy and get a sign biography...
  6. Elise R or possibly an Exige... I'm sure you've missed the 'S' out after Exige.... Of course.. However.....The thing is the Elise R with Super Touring Pack is just about an Exige and the Exige S adds a supercharger, (more to go wrong), and not much more power. An Elise R is 189 bhp after all and I do like the option of removing the top.
  7. I've called the dealer I bought the car from to see what they will offer. It's very well spec'd with nearly £5k of BMW optional extra's, e.g. 1. Steptronic Auto 2. Logic 7 sound system (surround sound etc.) 3 Professional Sat Nav 4. Voice Control 5. Heated Seats Plus all the usual 650i Sport extras.
  8. 6er's can't tow. The car was never design to take a towbar, which surprised me. The 6er is a ground up design car built to be very light, so I guess designing the ability to tow would have added significant weight.
  9. You did a good job on your advert too. Did you do an auction or best offer etc.?
  10. I wil be replacing the 6 but with a cheaper car though. I wonder if a dealer really would take a car in p/x and give me cash? I think a trip to the dealer I bought it from is first on the list. Then probably Autotrader for a few weeks. As I say I don't have to sell so can afford to wait for the right buyer. Just concerned that as many have said, the average private buyer wants finance/trade-in etc.
  11. Makes sense. Link changed so should now work
  12. I'm tinking of selling up, but not sure where, what price and how to sell such a nearly new car, i.e. most buyers will probably prefer a dealer over private. 1. How much is it worth, as nearly new cars are all in dealers etc. Also the M6 kit should help sell it and maybe add some value. The car has a list price of £59k with £5k of M6 kit. It's a June 06 with 11k miles at the moment, so has over 18 months warranty left. 2. Where do I sell it? I was thinking of a Pistonheads advert to start with. I'm not desparate to sell so don't need to do anything drastic. Picture are on the thread below on page 2 http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... hlight=bmw Serious sugestions welcome. Thanks guys
  13. I can understand your dissapointment, but these are 2 professional drivers so their oppinion is surely valuable. Rather than the 3 amatuers on Top Gear. In do agree that in the looks department though, the Zed wins. Not sure what engine size they picked for the Z4, (wasn't paying attention), but they could have picked the Z4M...
  14. A bit graphic, but hope yir missus doesn't find out Is this her? [link to pornographic images removed]
  15. Lewis would have been advised before any statements were made, so not sure it was his age or anything. Personally I think that was a good tactic and I would have done the same. F1 needs Lewis next year if only for the extra interest he has created. The guy was simply standing up for himself, which I think is justified, since everyone else seems to have it in for him. As for his driving, he is in his rookie year for god's sake.
  16. Absolutely right, all this bickering is getting on my tits Other drivers are making themselves look childish. Get them all in BTCC for a season with Plato and see how they like that!! Here here.... Hamilton said before the outcome he would be prepared to quit if he was punished and did not want to be a part of F1 if this behaviour carried on. Quite right if you ask me.
  17. Racing used to be a gentlemans sport. Not any more. Seems Lewis's arrival is turning them all into bickering girlies. Not offence to any girlies
  18. That's excellet for a 4x4. Our Jeep used to do about 28mpg on a motorway. The Range Rover is more like 24 mpg....
  19. Why diesel. Buy a cheaper car and with the money you save you can afford a petrol engine. You could get an RX8 for £12k and they have 4 seats. Not to mention Scooby, Evo etc. Other wise get a diesel Pug / Citroen, say a C2..
  20. What did you think of the Bowler Nemisis. These are built about 2 miles from me by Drew Bowler. He's been building off road racers for years. I used to own one of his early Bowler's called a Tomcat. in fact I bought it from Drew. Drew sold the rights to make this car a few years ago and ther are now built Lincs way. Here's the Tomcat website if anyone is interested. Also shows me in action. Drew now focuses on Daktar cars, which cost upwards of £50k. http://www.tomcatmotorsport.co.uk/gallery.htm Here's the picture shown on his website of me racing a Super Special Figure 8 2 day event. I managed 4th at this event by making the most of the handicap system.
  21. Touareg's a good motors. Basically the same car as a Cayenne as they were developed togther. If you are in the market for a CLK or a Jeep, you can't get 2 more different cars. Sounds like you are after something with 4 wheels.
  22. A CLK is a coupe not a 4x4. The Merc 4x4 is an ML. Not very good cars until the new model came out last year. They are made in the USA... X5 is a brill car, but residuals are so high. A mate has just bought a 2004 X5 3.0d and it cost him £27k. £20k would probably get you a 3.0 litre petrol though.
  23. Had a V70 and XC70 Cross Country estates on hire. What awful cars. The alarm sensor in the middle of the headlining in the V70, (well I think that's what it was), kept falling out whilst we were driving it. It's like stepping back in time. Reminded me of a Ford Granada Estate. Put me off Volvo's for life...
  24. Just sold my wifes Jeep Grand Cherokee and bought Range Rover Vogue Td6. We looked at lots before buying. Don't get a Navara or Pathfinder they are awful cars. I wouldn't recommend a Freelander either unless it was the latest shape. £20k would get you the latest shape Jeep Grand Cherokee but be prepared to loose lots of money. You could also get a Hummer looking Jeep Commander for that money almost new. A safe bet would be a Discovery, but it would have to be the old shape at that price. Also, the old Merc ML is a horrible car compared to the new one so that rules them out. Not sure what to recommend at £20k, Jeeps are OK, we had ours for 3 years. I guess a Shogun would be a sensible option or if you want something a bit more extravagent, £20k should get you a 2002/03 Range Rover.
