  1. I'll do it as soon as I can Val, but personal issues mean it won't be today. Looking forward to seeing how good your French is
  2. Trip was over 14 days. Furthest was 471 in one journey with a 2hr sleep after 401 miles and a quick stop at 331 for fuel and something quick to eat. Then there was around 340 when I went from Devon to Brugge with a stop on the way to Dover for something to drink then stopped at the ferry at Dover. There was also a 330 mile trip from Lille to York via Calais with a stop at Calais and one somewhere midway for fuel. I was worried about the driving before setting off but it wasn't that bad.
  3. Give me time V Been a bit busy but will get something up in the next few days. Just need a French > English translator now
  4. First time I had drove abroad and I have to say I really enjoyed it
  5. Just got back from my 2 week holiday from Central Scotland > Devon, England > Dover > Calais > Brugge > Lille > Calais > Dover > York > Central Scotland. Had a great time and the roof was down for virtually every single mile. Also got new number plates made up the day I left with the address of this site so with any luck the car may have attracted a few new members over time Even although the car is standard, it got plenty of looks in both the UK and Europe. The amazing thing in so many miles of driving was that I only saw 2 other Z coupes, and no roadsters on the road. One coupe was an Azure in Torquay which I only saw once and another was in Brugge and I think it was Gunmetal. Didn't have any issues with the 350Z and it just passed the 10k miles mark on the way home. The car also made it into the local papers in Lille via a guy that works in the hotel we were staying at. The article was to do with his passion for cars and he used mines for the pictures with my permission. I got a few copies of the paper so I will try and scan the article later or tomorrow and see if anyone has time to translate what it says Got over 600 pics to download from the camera so away to do that now
  6. Probably a lot to do that the site is a free resource and all the information is free for the members. I'm sure they respect that very much.
  7. Thanks for the replies. Running out of time so will probably buy anything I need down in Devon as I am there for 8 days before hopping on the ferry
  8. Smooth on the back for the roadster and two small holes i believe for the coupe. I got both badges from Chris (funkystyling) and they look great. I would do the back one as well
  9. What are the legal requirements for France and Belgium ? Running out of time as I leave on Friday night so quick response appreciated Already got Euro AA cover, extended insurance cover and fluorescent jackets for french motorways but what about beam deflectors, first aid kit etc.. Also getting new plates tomorrow with euro/scotland flags and have magnetic gb badges as backup incase scotland plates are not legal. Thanks Derek
  10. I was p****d off with the 'waiting' appointment too. I turned up and they said it would be at least a few hours. In the end they gave me a lift home and collected me again but it did mean I couldn't do anything else that day while I waited. Next time they won't get away with it.
  11. Good luck anyway, next weekend I'm off on a 2 week holiday covering England, France and Belgium. Two of us going and I have the roadster with a tiny boot
  12. As with Gus, I have used them for servicing and didn't have any problems. Pricing was excellent as well.
  13. BP is dearer everywhere you go. At least Optimax shows a benefit seeing as we need to use it. Can't wait until Tesco sell 99 up here although the local Tesco does nothing but maintain high prices for all garages locally. Luckily I work in Edinburgh where it's 4ppl cheaper.
  14. No worries, Lyndon knows he will get even more stick back Reason I got the old model was because there is a near £2k price difference between old and new model for similar spec. The old model is still being produced until September and is badged the Campus and Campus Sport, I got the Sport model. As much as I like the new model, I am not stupid enough to pay £2k just for nicer looks when the car is only for work and trips when I need a 4 seater car. Hopefully I will keep the Clio for a minimum of 5 years. That was the plan for the MG ZR but it being a heap of junk meant I couldn't suffer it any longer so cut my losses and flogged it.
  15. Blue is the best colour as most know and the 1.2 engine will need to stay Over the MG ZR not only should it be more reliable (can't get any worse) but also lower running costs which is ideal.
  16. The 350Z has got a little sister. Got to pick the plate from the dealer list so got one as close as possible to the Z
  17. Send me one early and get some free coverage in France & Belgium
  18. No problem for going off topic Neo - question already answered Good excuse to show off the 206CC as well
  19. Looks like I will be fine then Just a little paranoid these days after my 206CC used to scrape on dust on the road
  20. Hi All, After a week in Torquay during July I'm heading off to France and possibly Belgium from the Sunday to Thursday of my 2nd week. Originally going to go across via Eurotunnel but because I pi**ed about for so long before booking, the cost has now gone up to £145 for the times I would like to go and return. The g/f wasn't keen on the ferry but has now changed her mind and would go and it's tempting as I can get my ideal times for only £54 return and the saving will help pay for some accomodation over there. So my question is (eventually) - is the Z ok for getting on and off the ferry without scraping anywhere. I would hope it will be as it is standard but thought I would check before booking up. Thanks in anticipation
