  1. > Was it a sudden purchase only a week or so back or did you long to own one for years? Was meant to be buying a Peugeot 307CC, had even bought the CC05 PUG plate when put on sale on 1st Dec 2004. Then I was talking to Neo who had bought a coupe. Got a test drive in a coupe early January, put down the £2k deposit for the Roadster in January 2005 with delivery due around 15 months later . Then put the CC05 PUG plate on ebay . Then the car turned up on 31st March 2005 over 1 year early . > Could you sleep the night before? A little less than normal. > Did you wake up earlier than you would normally? No. I don't waken easily. > What did you do in the morning and what were your feelings (anxious, excited, worried, etc)? I went to Glasgow Caledonian University for the day as part of a work thing. Had to ask to leave an hour early to go home 35 miles and see if the postie had delivered by Esure insurance certificate that the dealer needed to tax the car. He had so it was another 20 mile drive to the dealer. > What were your feelings collecting it in person and sitting behind the wheel knowing it's yours for the first time? When I got there, they had stuck it on the path at the front doors presumably to tempt other customers to buy one. > Did you go out for hours of driving straight away or did you go back home to admire it in peace? I stopped by at my mum and dads to let them see it and surprise them as I had managed somehow to keep quiet about it turning up over 1 year early. I then took it home, left it outside for 15 mins to let the neighbours have a stare then went back out in it > Did you go straight to a family or friends house and give loved ones a quick blast? See above. > Was it your first sports car? If not, which experience was the most memorable? The first one or your zed? Yes > Do you remember others pointing and giving you the thumbs up or taking pics for the first time? Car turned heads everywhere you went. 350Z's were very rare back then. Roadsters just weren't around and even still are pretty rare where I live.
  2. If you drive with an illegal plate then you are wide open to being pulled. I drove around for long enough in a Peugeot 206CC with P20 GCC spaced as P20G CC. When I eventually got stopped, I got the thing to get stamped at an MOT station with new plates fitted.
  3. I really want some of these... Halfords Professional Tool Set - 120 piece I think currently reduced from £189.99 to £89.99. Got one during the week.
  4. Pics of Z are 2.5yrs old but apart from a dent in drivers side rear quarter from someone who was kind enough to bump into it last year and not hang around - it still looks as good.
  5. Must be something about keeping Z's a long time My previous record for keeping a car was 2yrs 8 months with the 206CC and I will be 30 days off 5yrs with the Z. I take it yours is still going strong
  6. Being a Peugeot I will need it Most definately Good luck with it, you'll be back to Jap before you know it though, if its anything like other French cars Owned 7 Peugeots before the Z so know what to expect If 350Z's were 4 seaters then I would have considered another but I took a £6k per year pay cut last August for personal reasons so had to go back to one car hence why I am getting a 308CC. As far as CC's go, the 308 is the only one I would consider. With getting the GT with additional integral leather and in White, it was a 14 week wait and it looks like they are holding it to 1st March now for new 10 plate, it arrived at dealer last Thursday. Front not to everybody's liking but I don't mind it too much
  7. Try Direct Line, I paid £324 for a Roadster - 35/m, full NCD, protected NCD with no convictions/accidents.
  8. Being a Peugeot I will need it Taking it out tomorrow up the east coast of Scotland for it's last day out
  9. Not been on here for a long time apart from last night After getting one of the early 350Z Roadsters in March 2005 I have owned it for nearly 5 years which is an absolute record for me in owning a car Z will be going on 1st March with a Pearl White Peugeot 308CC GT taking it's place. A bit of a difference from a Z but time for a new car, need 4 seats again after selling my 2nd car in November and also more practical (350Z not good in snow). Will really be a shame to let it go but I have enjoyed nearly 5 years with it so it's not all bad. It's been a full trouble free 5 years with nothing going wrong apart from normal servicing, MOT's and tyres. Although that's one of the reasons for this being a good time to let it go with a few bills due this year with it if I had kept it. And the replacement.....

    petrol!

Having owned my Z since March 2005 and done over 36k miles, I have only ever used Optimax / V Power apart from once when I used Tesco 99 and once with BP Ultimate when filling up at Dover as I couldn't find a Shell garage. Since January I have changed to normal Shell and noticed no difference in MPG and even performance seems ok. Only reason for doing this is beause Z was traded in in November although I still have it until 1st March or I would still be using V Power.
  11. Not GT but got an 05 Azure roadster with 37k miles. Goes on 1st March so open to any offers.
  12. Hmmmmm maybe he should have bought a Fiesta
  13. My 1st visit in ages and I can't believe I am reading about someone driving a 350Z that wants a free aerial and thinks £10 is too expensive. Nothing but an embarrassment - maybe overstretched himself buying the car ?
  14. Seen a few threads on this so thought I would post.... 350Z Roadster is 4 today and just over 31k miles so due it's 4th service and another MOT. Booked it in for Thursday at Arnold Clark Livingston, providing own oil and will pay £230 for service and MOT. Will show my brass neck and try and claim usual 10% discount on top Price is £200 service and £30 MOT. Normally £53.10 for MOT and I said I can get it done locally for £30 as I did last year. They offered £40 so I said no point travelling further and paying more so said I would be as well getting service done at same place as well. No intention of doing that as I wanted a Nissan service but they didn't know that and dropped to £30
  15. Does anyone have a picture of where the aircon inlet is under the bonnet ? Might try the halfords idea if I know where to put the stuff. Don't have time before going on holiday but there is a Halfords in Torquay which is the 1st stage of the holiday.
  16. Documents for replacement are below, they may help. Anyone wanting them, save now as they may be removed at anytime.
  17. At what time of the cars life have people had the aircon serviced / recharged??? My car is now over 3 years old with 25k miles and I don't feel it's anywhere near as good as it was and with going on holiday to England/Europe on Friday and remembering how hot it was last time, I was thinking of getting it recharged. Sometimes had to use it last time even with the roof down it was that hot Also if you have had it done - where about and what cost. Thanks.
  18. Had mine for over 3 years now and never a drop of water inside.
  19. It all depends Jim as they have set areas that they can't go outside due to the franchise. If you want to give him a call to check his name is Scott and number is 07703 015391. Let him know that I gave you his number. Really good guy and knows what he is doing. Does a lot of work for Rio Prestige in East Calder - the hire Lambo's, Koenigsegg... you know all the fancy expensive cars that I don't even know the names of http://www.rioprestige.com/
  20. Due to not paying attention - both my alloys were badly kerbed at the front - both happened on the same bloody kerb too Ended up being both sides as the garage swapped the wheels round when I got new tyres a few months ago. Was quoted £60 per wheel last March by the local Chipsaway guy and his prices are now £60-£80 depending on work involved. I expected to pay £80 each and he only charged me £120 for both today and they look brand new again. Charged £120 as that is what he quoted me 15 months ago....
  21. Buts its always cheaper than Shell! (And Shell has produced two "super" formulations that ruined engines) Not in my experience. Local Shell is currently 3ppl cheaper than local Tesco for NUL so probably 1ppl cheaper for their 99 octane.
  22. I have tried Tesco 99 but now refuse to use Tesco fuel. Don't know if it's UK wide but their tactics on petrol pricing are often aimed at driving up the local price to the maximum level possible. You will NEVER see Tesco lead the way on price - profit maximisation is their aim.
  23. To save sending many e-mails, I have tried linking to the file below, hopefully it will work. If it doesn't let me know. http://hometown.aol.co.uk/Dsneddon/Cust ... June08.xls
  24. 352 posts now, your due a sticker It has took me long enough
  25. Can't say I'm surprised at that, that's Arnold Clark for you. I claimed for a new CD player under warranty when it was in for a service in March, few days before it ended. Long story but it looks like they submitted the claim late and Nissan knocked it back and only offered a 60% goodwill gesture. Once I spoke to Nissan, AC suddenly said they had found the correct paperwork and they would replace it - absolute pish but the fact that I said I would take legal action against Nissan for refusing a valid warranty claim or would strongly deal with AC as I have done before if they are at fault and suddenly they were covering the £600 cost. It's in tomorrow to get done so once it's done I will tell them that I will be complaining to Nissan about Nissan refusing the claim - that should get them squirming when it's 99% likely that they are to blame.
