  1. sometimes , but not in TheMinel 's case can't improve perfection
  2. not much! (compared to an APS TT conversion anyway) I'll let Kevin get the price out in the open Did a bit of research on this kit today on my350z and tech, it's not as widely used in the US like the APS one but probably better suited to a stock motor out of the box, and very complete out of the box (bar some sort of engine management which I'd always want tbh). Question is: (and my dilemma too) would the power out of the box (stock engine) suffice or would you want a little bit more later on? because if you did... then you'd end up having to upgrade injectors (the 380cc it comes with are a bit on the small side for over 400hp aims) get a proper fuel return system, and of course open the engine for the internals. it sure is quick out of the box, and with std internals (only tt kit with std internals to figure in the top 15 1/4 mile times lest for my350z users... ) but is it worth it if you want over 400bph? An APS kit is good for 600bhp (turbos are bigger than the PE ones) but then again, are you going to be able to put all that power down anyway? (so the 500hp could be reached with these PE turbos, proper injectors and fuel return system, and possibly just a short block without going sleeved anyway) haven't heard of any std engine blow up with one of these out fo the box either
  3. move on. The "let's stay friends" thing doesn't work imo. Now get yrself a proper ASW car and let the good times begin :teeth:
  4. FANTASTIC! One of the best action films of the year. Extremely funny too.
  5. Agree with the power/weight ratio statement, but that's exclusive to your own car. Like for like (same car, same weight, same driver), even a TT Z with std internals will be quicker than a 300whp NA car both in a straight line and on track, imo. but I do agree that over a certain hp level for our car, the issue becomes traction.
  6. research thoroughly mate, as if you start opening the engine to get more NA power, then change your mind and want to slap FI on the Z, you'll have wrong compression, wrong cams etc etc. not as easy as you think... do your homework and understand how things work by yourself , don't just listen to what people post on an internet forum
  7. Hi Nick, nice Evo 8 sounds fukin mean Nice to see you again mate! No luck in the Show N' Shine Finals, but tbh I'm happy i got to that stage considering mine isn't a show car that lives its life in a garage, Not sure how many of those cars in the Finals are driven every single day saw yr old Z for sale in pistoheads iirc mate
  8. morning everyone! overall a great weekend (saturday could have done with a bit less rain and mud tbh) shame only myself choptop and hanel BBQd on saturday night, we had a nice dry spot under the structure there, and i stayed until the fireworks which were quite nice! Managed to go throught the finals of the JAE Show N Shine competition, fending off A LOT of great cars, including Giles's own Z, for which i was incredibly chuffed about (considering how good it looks and the amount of £££££ money he spent on it!) but didn't win any category on the Sunday, best Nissan went to the Skyline who went through with me to the finals, and have to say it was a great looking car At least I got my 2 minutes of fame (and shamelessly plugged this site ) with our resident comedian StephenG I heard Mike got interviewed by JAE radio, but mssed it, heard it was quite good Nice to meet old and new faces alike, and my personal favourite Zeds of the day were the Envy one and Patto's one on the EPRacing stand Also found out some interesting info on the PE TT kit that Kevin has on his Envy Z... will have to start researching (and saving up.... ) Special thanks to Ian (dunker) for helping me wax/polish my Z and Mike for doing the tyres and George (hanel) for keeping my stuff in his tent/boot most of the time! FInally, with 8 tickets from the EPRacing Charity Raffle, I went away with 2 prizes, can't complain for £8 (apparently the 4 DVD set is worth about £50, it's a step by step video for rebuilding RX7 rotary engines, will try and flog it on the RX7 forum) and some 5L oil from Opie
  9. option 2. with the extra senior role, extra money and great benefits, if you are not then happy down the line, you can always look for something else, even a sideways step and still retain the salary level and push for the benefits to your potential new employer anyway. I would highly suggest get both options in the bag first though, then choose with the 2 contracts in your hands PS time to move on methinks, as long as it's a step up and not down.
  10. today's supposed to be awful but tomorrow and sunday should be decent (meaning cloudy/light rain only) fingers crossed, although hotel for me this time, as much as it hurts since the JAE spirit is to camp!
  11. £20k get you 600+ hp limiter and why on the straights only? track: turn the boost down (less issues with traction) and still have more than enough to eat you alive it's probably transpiring that I'm a FI supporter Adam, where's the BC stroker gone?? or has that been put back ? Was looking forward to some data on a stroker for NA
  12. let us know how it goes limiter PS £20k (which is a reasonable estimate once you start opening the engine) for 300whp is imo rather pointless but each to their own you'll surely be different, but way slower than a Z that's had spent that amount in TT form
  13. let's talk cost Adam, limiter will soon change his mind
  14. the title of the advert gives it away.. they are nismo style skirts, ie replicas
  15. surely not with my posts... thought i was straightforward enough?
  16. but they should upgrade you if they can and yeah 2pm and I'll be there checking in
  17. photobucket is your friend if you don't want to photobucket them, your choice, but these gratuitous links just **** me off tbh try do the reverse over there and see what happens AND you need to be registered to see the pics, what a PITA.
  18. I'm a priority club member Also, most people still camp @ JAE and I was looking in Autoroute, there appear to have quite a lot of hotels in the vicinity of the Showground. In any case I'm checking in at 2pm in order to avoid overbooking issues which some times can happen
  19. booked in at the Holiday Inn Peterboroguh West too.
  20. I'm booking a hotel guys... friday forecast looks abysmal heavy rain!!! suggest you do the same I'll still be at the stand on friday afternoon though.
  21. very good but for the money spent on it you'd have got well over those figures going FI although your goal wasn't HP related but more of a NA build over 300whp but i guess you heard that one before well done and great write up
  22. you have tomorrow to finish it all !! are you gonna run the exact same map it comes with?
  23. Removed

    JAE!

we are of some use to you again eh Stephen? just in front of the Celica Club again...
  24. if anyone wants to try it, let me know and I'll help you through it seems quite daunting at the beginning, but it's a lot of fun! only a few games to the end of Season 9 and I'm 12 points ahead of the second team in league 2.3 in the Uk, so headed for promotion only started playing in May too, so if you know what you are doing you can do well, fast. My Italian mate living in Thailand has just won the Thai national Cup and he only started in March! Next season he'll be eligible to play the International Cup 9equivalent to the Champions league)
  25. agree 100% on what you say Zzzz but you can't say it's the same argument as with aftermarket cast vs forged wheels imo. simply because as I just said, both EBC and DS2500 improve braking, whereas heavy cast wheels don't improve on oem wheels, quite the opposite! do you see where I'm coming from?
