  3. are they answering the phone yet ? spoke to a very nice woman about 6 weeks ago, said they were going to look for my original engine cover, never heard back. last time i rang he was still in hospital. will try next week as work isn't as mental now GCSE marking is out the way
  4. bit of a thread resurrection, i think this might have died a death. last post was october 2009
  5. reminds me i need to ring them again this week
  6. same as yoko and waylander i to have a JVC double din and it also has a removable front facia. Ian has a pioneer which you can remove the sat nav screen section.

  8. YEs the interior needs aproper clean. will have it all sorted by Wales hopefully. Got some trimming to do on the interior.
  9. looking very good and shiney
  10. i recommend the vreds for the money honkooks are menat to be good, but never had much to do with them, some of the MR2 lads ran them, seemed happy enough. but different cars. have a chat with Dixon at DMS as i think he runs some track cars on them.
  11. ?? has obviously been a member of our fellow uk club.
  12. rear tow hook is behind the little square on the rear bumper. take the square off and then screw in the tow hook from in th eboot. as for the front. this is why i've been running the folding number plate. if you have the zunsport grille you'll just have to pop the grille out, or buy the one with the cut out for tow hook. if your running Zmanalex mesh i can't help you there. my guess is you'll have to cut a whole in it, but that will look messy.
  13. didn't trim anything off the top edge, mine catches slightly sometimes but other times it doesn't, the more i use it the more it seems to have found its best resting place. i'll see how it goes and i might trim some off if its needed.
  14. was contemplating running the video out to the sun visors and running sunvisors with screens in
  15. Husky its a real shame this situation happened. and could have easily been avoided if the job had been done properly in the first place. i get the distinct feeling the first place took on more work than they could handle and therefore couldn't give it the attention it deserved to do the job properly. i know all 3 parties involved and think Johns been very good at not just smearing a garage to make himself feel better and has also given the first garage an opportunity to post up and give their side. The original garage owner is a good bloke and i'm fairly certain this would never have been deliberate. everyone makes mistakes at some point, this one just happens to have been a costly one. but now might be a good point to come forward. better to step up to the plate, than wait to be revealed. i'm not sure if someone had cost me the best part of £4k that i would have posted such an impartial thread and protected the identity for so long.
  16. the JVC had a neoprene case for its front, but i didn't get it with the purchase. so i shall go into the textile lab at work and knock one up for both uinits a bit like a back to back double case. as for storage they could be put in the rear cubby and locked in or put in your bag when you leave. i carry a very large laptop case for work big enough for marking and laptops or if i'm visiting friends i'm usually staying the night so they'll go in my overnight bag.
  17. i didn't want the satnav in the double din slot, its too low down to view. wanted it in the cubby as its the best place for it. hence 2 systems and not 1. also i can have 2 things running at the same time. if i eventually get and OBDII system put in, i can have satanv and dials both on at the same time.
  18. fully understand the lack of updates just hope all is well
  19. heres my contribution pioneer Avic F500BT and JVC EXAD AVX810
  20. First off a really big thanks must go to Husky, met up today at Subzero's for a secret mission, and as we had some time spare afterwards he helped me finish off the last of my ICE install. I had already done most of the soldering and wiring set-up but was being a bit of a chicken with the actual plug in bit. I'd also like to say a big thanks to Sobrien and Rob quads as both of their ICE guides have helped me do the wiring. sobriens guide: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=19787 rob quads guide: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403 also used this: but still have some issues so need to have another read: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=32337&hilit=steering+wheel+controls and last but not least i need to thank Yokomo; who has helped behind the scenes with cabling issues and just generally givein encouragement via PM. I Bought the JVC EXAD 7'' KW-AVX810 MULTIMEDIA CENTRE, i got it 2nd hand off ebay for a very good price. and the unit is in excellent condition. it offers loads of options and expandability. paid £250 inc P+P for it. i currently already run the Pioneer Avic F500BT as a satnav in my cubby and thought that this unit would compliment it well. for one simple reason, i can remove the front off the headunit and i can remove the sat nav; both in about 5 seconds. so for the pics; as we all know thats all you lot are interested in. the car centre console with all removed the connectors in the cubby for the satnav the pioneer unit the JVC front some of the start up screens with the nav running with video; my favourite comedy film as it shows its also got an SD card on the front haven't had a proper play yet, have learnt a few things but need to use it for a bit to get my full review done so i will come back and update. Problems: had an issue with the incartec steering control unit; which currently means i have no steering wheel control. will go back and re look at this. Things to finish: still got all the extender cables under the gear shift surround. we ran out of time but all i need to do is wire up the reverse camera. put the USB connector in the arm rest. buy a portable Hard drive. put the video in cables to the passenger cubby. along with my video out. might only be a headunit change, but the sound quality is so much crisper
  21. labour PR team are obviously desperate. its what puts me off about politics, if you can;'t beat them, smeer them, cleverly done though, considering they got it out of 1 interview
