<06 vs > 06 air box Velocity stack -Upgraded?
rtbiscuit replied to slimjim's topic in 350Z Technical
i'm not far off introducing a conversion kit for pre face lift air boxes, to turn them into post facelift air boxes. the aim is also to supply them with a good performance filter, and possibly even plenum spacer as a complete kit, people cna then pick and choose how much they want, either all 3 or just one etc and mix and match, -

you can input every mod from superchargers to a decal. add the cost etc, where it was bought from, who fitted it etc, and then link to it reviews you might write for the garage that did the work, to a review of the place you bought it from etc. But you can do that on a build page... Still don't really see the point myself.... A build page is like one giant block of text with pictures, that then disappears into the forum never to be seen again, its then down to the ability of the poster to add in things like hyper links to other threads etc, most people don't do that. they then have other threads for whos the cheapest insurance, where can i get a JWT, how much is this, where do i buy this etc. with the garage area.it automatically seperates things out etc, its a database at the end of the day, with a funky skin on it to make it look pretty and easy to search and flick through. in your area for your car, you can add all the different mods in each section, add any info etc. then it adds it to the main database, it will then give the club updates on the front page, like, latest mod fitted, etc but it keep sit all linked to that car, it then links to others who have done a similiar thing, so if you click on the JWT pop charger it will show you all the others who have one, what they paid (if they put the price up) have a look and a browse round the MR2 roadster one. it just makes alot more sense than a build thread. -

Worth noting, we might limit the cars to 350z and 370z i suppose it would be embarrassing that the fast car wasn't a Zed what with Ians R34 and my Jag, and dans Porsche and Attaks aston the top of the table would be void of Zeds in all BHP, power, Top speed, Dyno etc tables -

Just to let people know that the vote is changeable, i set it up so that if you change your mind you can switch you vote, so all those who "don't care" might see the use of this and maybe swap their vote. -

NGK ebay tat damn those small time japanese suppliers with their inferior tech ... oh hang on a second.. aren't NGK one of if not the biggest supplies of spark plugs in the world
-
you can even get them for less on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350Z-3-5-V ... 2a0913e685 thats NGK for £46
-
Well i just bought 8 sparks for my jag for £70 and they are NGK ones as well. fitting on my car requires undoing a few bolts to gain access to the coil packs etc then just undoing each one and replacing it. about as difficult as scratching your arse. and similiar style of job on the 350Z

How much is worth 350Z on 04 Plates with D cat????
rtbiscuit replied to GoralGT's topic in 350Z General
Cat D is becoming more and more common as insurance companies are becoming less and less likely to fix cars. due to the extra cost of hire cars, medical and injury cover, its starts to cost alot to repair a car, and the lower the value of the vehicle the more likely they are to write something off as a CAT D for something minor than they ever where. CAT D offers a good option in to owning more expensive cars, it just needs to be checked properly, and if your not mechanically minded places like the RAC and the AA will do it for a fee. the myth of shocking CAT D's are a bit of a thing of the past, everyone is still hung up on what their parents grew up with and there folks warning against dodgy cut and shut jobs etc. Yes dodgy and bad repaired cars still exsist but there are still alot of good cars out there. it just takes a good eye to find them thats all. and the comments on not buying a performance car that has had a repair on it as you'd be worried it might fail at 70 mph. you'll find lots of cars have had lots of work on them but you'd never no as it was within the insurance repair costs when it was done, the only difference is with a Cat D that the cost of the vehicle was less so they didn't bother. i know of at least 10 cars on this forum that have had spin offs and had to have work done to repair them, but they weren't Cat D. as long as good OEM parts were used (even 2nd hand) and the work carried out well; there isn't or shouldn't be an issue. i tend to be alot more cautious of cars that need heavy chassis re work i.e. needing the chassis jigging etc. but even then, if its done properly its not an issue. -

How much is worth 350Z on 04 Plates with D cat????
rtbiscuit replied to GoralGT's topic in 350Z General
looks like it needed a new wing possibly new door, headlight, washer bottles, some suspension work etc. as long as the chassis wasn't damaged badly it should be fine as long as it was repaired well. and as it was graded as a Cat D just means it was an economic write off, not a hazard write off. you just need to know what your looking for when viewing it to check the quality of the work. if you can take a good mechanic friend with you. nothing wrong with Cat D's and the way the Zed price has gone there will be more out there soon as the cost of original nissan parts are silly that alot of zeds with minimal damage will go the way of Cat D. price wise i'd be looking at about 4.5k to 5.5k for it. -
looks very similiar to pauls off here

the mr2 forum is the best example in my eyes, the amount of options it gives you cures alot of the issue we have with people asking stuff sbout insurers costds, and garage reviews http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/garage.php -
i'd like to see more competiton on service parts, only having one person supplying them isn't the best setup, there is no competition, there for prices aren't competitive
