Hi guys, I'm a bit stumped here. Car brakes were stock previously, I've had new Dba T3 discs fitted all round, pfc compound 11 pads on the front, Pfc pads on the rear goodridge braided lines fitted all round, brske fluid flushed and 660 motul brake fluid added . Had a new front left caliper fitted as well all parts supplied by Zmanalex who has been fantastic.
The fitting was done at lockwood and greenwood in Ashton who I've always used since I've had the car for service/mot.
Drove it back from the garage today and it was like the handbrake was on, if I took my foot off the accelerator the car would very quickly come to a stop. High pitch squeeling whilst driving in lower gears, took in straight back to the garage and they got it on the rack and the mechanic said that the tires were free and the handbrake definitely isnt stuck on. I've just driven it home on the motorway and struggled to get up to 70mph and the car was shuddering eventually it seemed a bit better but when I came off the motorway if still feels the same as it did coming out of the garage. Their was a still a high pitch noise as I was driving in 2nd gear down my road. Car feels and smells very hot like it's been towing a caravan.
I know the brakes need bedding in, which the mechanic said might be the reason why the car feels like it's being held back. Is this normal at all? Because it just doesn't feel right to me that if the brakes need bedding in that it can affect the driving of the car?
