  1. i wish people would stop using the word Banana , call the parts by there correct name, cutting seized nuts with a disc cutter is normal, i think Z's are a nice bit of engineering compared to a Merc
  2. nice set of wheels and tyres
  3. Ive had my 03 fairlady for 3 months, always had bonking noise when driving along bumpy roads, replaced drop links, had suspension leg apart to check the shock, even lubricated the sliding part of the caliper, got a friend to lever the wheel up and down with a length of 3x2, checked all rubber bushes, all looked ok. decided last week to book it in for MOT at my local garage, told tester about clonking noise, car past its MOT no fault found. decided to have another look today, must have had the front wheel of 6 times. having a really good look and lever around i noticed a grease nipple which supplies grease to the lower rear track control arm, its only accessible by turning hard lock, gave it a good clean off and 6 pumps with the grease gun. took the Z for drive the knock has almost gone, only noticeable if you listen for it, guess there must be some play in that ball joint. i can find nothing on the web about that grease nipple only fitted to Jap imports?

the center pipe is cheap to buy new, look on ebay
  13. could be a good buy for some one who wants to do a custom paint job, auto gear box, better than the heavy to drive manual
  14. Hi have any members bought a budget stainless Y pipe back from uk-performance-uk Ebay?
  15. I use direct line, online, then spoke sales person to check details, £246 12 years no claim and 63 years old
  16. dont bother fitting larger wheels you will make the ride so hard you wont want to drive it
  17. I got best quote from Direct line for my Fairlady Z
  18. Have any members compared the pull and push of Jap import shocks with UK OEM ? my 03 fairlady has rock hard suspension, even an 18 stone friend cannot compress any corner of the car, the ride is so hard it makes my eyes and teeth hurt, have read on this forum European cars have softer shocks but the springs are the same, my rear springs are 2 red / 1 white dot fronts 1 purple dot. im thinking to buy some used OEM shocks from a breakers, also do you think there is any demand for stiff shocks so i can sell them on, i guess there idea for track use
  19. i forgot to mention, im thinking to replace only the rears with 40's as the fronts have plenty of tread
  20. i have 19" rims with 35 profile tyres, i would like a bit more rubber between me and the road looks like i could fit 40 profile will it cause a problem with the traction control? with tyre wear and going round corners etc the ecu wont notice?
  21. Plenty of used springs on ebay, easy job to replace
  22. update on my previous post, removed both off side wheels, car has standard springs and gas shocks, have read the forums to checked the color coding on the springs, looks like 17" with a high side wall is the only way to get a smother ride, harsh ride seems to be a common topic with 350z
  23. Hello, im sure the wheels are not the only cause of a hard ride, if i press down with all my weight on any corner of the car there is no movement like the car has no suspension, going to take the front wheel of this week , looking at pictures of 350z the gap above the 19" looks normal
  24. Thanks for all the posting, the previous owner was into golf his wife with only a auto licence did not like driving the Z, they bought it from a dealers for £6250 only kept it for 6 months.they were only offered £2000 as a trade in, i acquired it for £2750 nice quite engine no smoke, 90000 miles. strange rattle from off side corner on B roads, hand brake not working at all, horrible bone crunching ride, a car dealer friend has driven it,worse than a smart roadster!
