  1. yeah I'm going to try a few others but if you look at my earlier posts a "nissan" specialist 2mins from said they have to pull the engine and would take couple weeks so I'm dubious about other places that hasn't been tried and tested by the like of the guys and girls on here
  2. sorry mark but your even further away then hdev :/
  3. haha I can never remember the name of it and my lass keeps calling it gold so guess it's stuck in my head now, yeah I've seen the grey one a few times. especially aswell as a white 370 around whitemere pool aswell
  4. well that's the same as hdev have quoted to me so once I get the go ahead that's where I shall head
  5. well after a nice phone call with hdev I've decided that if I get the go ahead from finance company I'll be going to them as they said they can turn the car around within about day and half garage have said they won't fix it so hopefully finance company kick their heads in and make them cough up
  6. that's me :/ were you the gold one by any chance?
  7. because even if it is someone else paying for it I certainly won't let someone who doesn't really know what they are doing loose on it
  8. Horsham and abbey would be the ones I'd love to go to but I'm in Newcastle so a bit of a trek to be honest waiting to see what the finance company and garage say as I have to let them try first :/
  9. I knew someone would know for definite, this guy "specialist" although mainly does nissan 4x4s he was certain that it was quicker for him to pull the engine and do it on a stand but wasn't sure if he was just trying for extra hours that's all
  10. well it's been quite some years since ive touched pistons as I've been all about rotary for a while but even i was a little bit suspicious about the bottom end damage, I've read a few threads that people have done these gaskets in situ but this gup said the sump needs to come off for the front case to come off hence why he wants to pull the block out? anyone else think that's needed or is he fishing for a few extra hours labour?
  11. I bought my 08 350z about 10weeks ago and noticed I have lower than normal oil pressure, needle barely registers at warm idle and only 30ish at 2k which as per fsm is too low, now after all my reading on here and Google I'm almost certain it's the oil gallery gaskets, so.... I went to a Nissan specialist near me in Newcastle and he's pretty certain it's that aswell, but he said it's quicker to pull engine? and that there could be a chance of damage to the bottom end? just wondered what people's thoughts are on this? he said it could be a couple thousand? (finance company will be dealing with costs)
  12. I go up to Wooler quite a lot so I'll keep an eye out
  13. they must have changed the product and or advertising as it used to be petrol only ie cat instead of dpf and was shown by mot test stations the difference in readings from sniff test that it was a mild cleaner
  14. jm imports seem to be the boys for anything Japanese, friends with one of the lads that works there and will bend over backwards to help
  15. cataclean all the way me, tried and tested over many cars and proven to work safely and effectively unlike the redex crap
  16. got to say I love the me meguires ultimate qd stuff, dead easy to use smells nice and by god it doesn't half make black look good
  17. Garage Whifbitz and it's about £1400 Not cheap but I'll play guinea-pig! Looks like a copy of the Amuse powerhouse Titanium. at 1400 quid I'd be expecting something far better than a copied design though! hope it's all you expect it to be mate and can't wait to hear a video of it Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  18. nissan 4x4 centre 350z spotted pulling in at powburn a697 then again near Coldstream I was in the std black
  19. I'll have the other one please posted if you can?
  20. Got to be honest i think its shine abilties are quite poor compared to other out there, however i do use it as a cheap lubricant for clay baring and seems to do well for that porpose
  21. I've got the same switch in mine and when I traced it, it led to an fm modulator Sat behind the stereo
  22. I'm here in Newcastle (newburn) with my 08 black hr, plate says 07 atm tho due to a ridiculous private plate by previous owner :/
  23. This is literally 2 secs round the corner from me and I also was disappointed, for 1k more I got my almost mint 08 hr, albeit 250mile away it was well worth it, I must say tho that the guys in there are usually really good, my mother has an x5 from them and when they had an issue with the gearbox they really excelled in customer service, my view is maybe it's the first one they've had and are unsure? :/
  24. Haha nice spot payco, yeah I think I'll try the later first haha, Got say a big thank you for the welcome guys, I've been a member of the rx8 club for couple years and that's a really great group so hopefully I can find the same friendly people on here.
