  1. Whilst under the Z yesterday at the garage, I noticed some kind of solenoid / valve with an armature connected to what I could remember it being the rear ARB or droplink area. I thought this may have had something to do with VDC, but my Z has ESP. Googling throws up a possible yaw sensor? You can tell this newbie has a lot of Z to learn .
  2. Very long story cut very short, the Z is now home with me. I've already fitted the RDX aerial & boot divider from Ian. Also have a K&N panel filter with original airbox. I've uploaded a few photos here: http://www.mrv6.co.uk/350z/ They're not the best as they were taken on the phone, but more will follow. I now believe the colour code to be KY0, Chrome silver. I am looking at getting the alloys powder coated in a gun metal grey at some point. At the moment I just want to enjoy the car as the garage has had it for 10 days, whereas I've had it for 4 . It was towed back to them a week last Thursday as the clutch slave cylinder was playing up. They fitted a new Nissan part but the hose is on back order, so I sent them one from Horsham Developments to fit. Up on the ramp today I could see the new parts. They had a hard time bleeding it, which I knew they would so I sent them some guides from the net. After a quick wash with Autosmat Duet & dried with an Uber drying towel, it's now nice & clean. Over the coming weeks I plan to DA the car, clay it & de-tar it before deciding whether to settle for Wolfs Body Wrap or Soft99 Fusso Coat Light. I've already polished the rear boxes of the Ark system with Mothers polish. Windscreen has been clayed with Sonus green clay & polished with Duragloss Nu-glass 755. Also fitted a pair of new Trico flat blades that seem so superior to the wire framed blades.
  3. I was in stealth mode stood in a car park, don't ask, when an orange Z drove past on Wood Lane. Didn't get the reg, sorry..
  4. Long story I won't bore you all with . I had it for 4, the garage had my Z for 10 days . H-Dev sent the HEL slave hose direct to the garage to be fitted & I've now got the use of my Z back. Thanks to those I spoke to on the phone, sorry I don't remember your names, but you were all most helpful .
  5. Can I get a brushed one, with no paint on the 350Z engraving, but red gear numbers please?
  6. Seems every breakers yard with these cars in already has them sold. Does anyone have a genuine pair for sale? Unless there's an aftermarket equivalent that doesn't look ebay or chavvy, I could be waiting some time.
  7. Many thanks to Ian, who kindly sent me my divider today. I like the stealthy look so went for a black Z. Thanks once again, will be installed soon as the Z is back .
  8. The place I got the Z from have finally started work on it by replacing the s/c for a genuine Nissan one. They've bled it & got it driving, but the pedal dropped halfway back down as it did with me last week, so they're now replacing the master cylinder on Friday when it arrives. So far, I've driven the Z for 4 days, it's been sat n the garage for a further 6 days .
  9. Welcome to the club! I spend a bit of time in Leeds so always keep an eye out for fellow owners of whatever car I drive at the time .
  10. Cheers Lewis . I'd rather it happened now than say 6 weeks in, then I'd feel it would be don to me to sort, which I would've done. I have access to all manufacturers parts at cost price & a 10 bay workshop all with 2 post lifts, so would've done it regardless. They're also replacing both aux belts & fixing the knocking along the front. I know it was towed in during their working day un-announced, they were due to get it in the workshop this afternoon or tomorrow morning .
  11. I ordered myself one of these from a trader before realising it was a genuine Honda part which I could've sourced through work much cheaper. Anyhow, after a bit of Googling I'm finding sites that are selling them for the Z using 2 different part numbers; 39151-STK-A01 (which I've received) & 39151-S6A-E01. What's the difference between them? Is there a right & a wrong one?
  12. Update. The car drove onto the recovery truck this morning, obviously cooling down overnight helped, it was also driven off. It's at the place I bought it from & they've agreed to do the 3 repairs I asked them to do initially, the extra one being the slave cylinder. I even emailed them a couple of guides as you can't trust everyone . They're re-painting the front bumper as there's a small amount of damage at the bottom, they're also finding out what the source of the knocking is from the front suspension. I suspect the banana arms? They'll check it though. I want my Z back .
  13. Cheers guys. I suspect they won't upgrade the line, probably just replace the slave. Clark Motorsport do the kit for £99, but a; I don't feel I should pay, and b; I really can't afford to be carless at all, so it needs sorting quickly☺.
  14. Hi everyone, Tonight whilst stuck in traffic on this hot day I had trouble getting any gear. If I lift my foot off the clutch pedal it would stay about halfway down till I lifted back with my foot. I've left the car parked somewhere for a couple of hours and gone back to it and nothing has changed. I'm presuming, looking on the net as you do, its the clutch slave cylinder. As I've only had it 4 days I'm going to get it recovered to the place I bought it from and get them to fix it. Any ideas?:o
  15. Many thanks Asad, received & fitted all as per the instructions yesterday .
  16. I think I know what it is. Listening to it outside, then sitting in the car with the windows shut & listening very carefully in the boot, it's the fuel pump, I'm sure . If not, then where is this purge canister?
  17. mr v6

    Gearknob collars.

Thanks ZMANALEX, I'm really not looking to spend that kind of money one one . If someone can have a look at the latter link & confirm whether it would fit. Last thing I want is for it to look odd or untidy where the base of it meets the gaitor.
  18. Evening all, I noticed this morning once I'd got to work a hissing noise from what I think is under the car. It doesn't sound like a farty exhaust blowing. It's kind of (bear with me ) ssssssssss, ssssss.....ssssss, ssssssssssss sort of thing. There's no set pattern i.e on for 3 seconds, off for 5 then repeat. I was wondering if there's some kind of air or vacuum pump regulating something..
  19. I have a lot of speed humps where I live, some of which are quite high & I've not had any issues with the Ark system so far. I do tend to only go over them on one side of the car though, just in case.
  20. Hi Clark Motorsport, I collected my new Z today, whilst looking through the paperwork was an invoice for just over £700 for an organic clutch you fitted back in February this year. Surprised as I was it had been done at what I now know to be a forum sponsor, also glad it's a job I don't need to worry about for a while, if I PM you the invoice details are you able to tell me the brand of the clutch that was fitted. I can't seem to see it on the invoice. Regards Chris. PS: The clutch is quite an 'on / off' but more than manageable in operation .
  21. Go on then I'll take one if they're still up for grabs . All black Z for me please, no colours .
  22. After a bit of Googling, I see the thread pitch is M10x1.25. The internet seems full of gearknobs in this size, but I'm guessing they don't all come with the collar to go under the knob to ensure the gaitor sits tightly at the base of the knob. I'm not looking to spend a lot on a new gearknob to be honest, just a satin chrome one would do the job, maybe a round one, or something like this. Any thoughts?
  23. I found the durability claim of GTechniq G1 a bit generous, upto 2 years. Initially it's therapeutic to see the beads flying off the screen at low speed, but after 6 months you need to be driving considerably faster. A bit like a wax, it does wear off, but too quickly.
  24. Would I too be able to get a set of these for my new, not yet received Z? Chris.
  25. Thanks to both of you. The only reason I asked was various places sell them, but only a few say they're for the 06-09 cars. I also saw these on the Torqen website, but the fixings look different. I was kind of hoping they'd fit as I can order them direct from nissan through work.
