  1. I will agree to disagree there, all decent ones are mostly advertised and sell for the same sort of money, anything else will be a lottery if you ask me from my brief experience during 3 years of ownership and 2 zeds, the price hasnt really changed much since i was looking for my first one. They can be found cheaper of course and if your in luck the owner may be desperate for some money and you get a bargain, but anything i looked at under £6000 was a dog of some description, poor bodywork/good mechanics or vice versa, i paid just over £5k for my first one but it needed a clutch. Just go in with your eyes open, if it needs pads it may well need discs if they are badly lipped, £500 all round, tyres £500... There another one i found closer to home 5 miles instead of 70 just serviced and had the clutch changed, its going for 5400, non GT 2005 100,000 miles, back to the original one he said pads will need doing in another 1000 miles, disc and pads ive seen for 299 and can get them done at a local for 50 -60 quid depending on how hungry the guy is, tyres are fresh just put on with those rims, car was serviced recently so the recommendations will be there, hopefully the inspection will bring up any thing else..... believe me my eyes have never been opened wider. this one has 5 owners, 3 from the same family whos selling it now, ill be the 6th http://www.autotrade...issan&logcode=p I called the guy he said they are trying to arrange finance for one guy, so if it comes back boxes ticked its gone, Its been there for a about 4 weeks, its the DE 2005 engine with 2006 reg apparently full service history new clutch etc. Guy sounded fed up ,
  2. depends black looks great when the weather is dry and stealth when its grey and miserable, but blue is kinda stand out ish. hard choice, for the roadster black is a good choice but depends on the condition and if its been taken care of
  3. Im going to see it tomorrow regardless of if the mechanic shows up and make an offer after the inspection is done, and hes the one quoting 5300, but i havent made him any offer. Like someone said I dont think its worth more than 5k at the very best. Bank transfer only, no cash on me, i made it clear to him too,
  4. I will have an inspection booked, will be checking it myself, and i remember you saying that, thats really bad
  5. These are few of the cars where the price varies considerably. a lot of traders are selling 2005's with 60-90k miles at 6500 to 8000. GT usually. Non GT still commands a 6k asking price. privately its all over. Theres a white one thats been slightly modified guy wants 6995.... Yesterday i saw a black one 2004 96k miles for 5k orange leather 7 owners......guy had it a month and didnt bother checking insurance prices so has sorned it,... 4k youre a mad man, I would have happily taken that off you for 5 and a bit........
  6. A rain fund a must with even a reliable Civic.
  7. lol get to know the guy selling, it will tell you a lot about how the cars been treated
  8. http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT It has 4 owners, 3 of which were same family (father/son combo). I spoke to the guy yesterday evening. He came across as a salesman and a bit pushy. It currently has private plates on. I was just wondering if you would pay 5k for a 2003 GT 83k miles. When there are others (2004) going for less The alloy wheels are new, but ive seen them for £500 quid so shouldnt really be a factor on price tbh lol. But from the MOT history it does have a leaking shock which hasnt been fixed and pads will need doing soon. I got hold of the plates he sent and the history looks ok 1 fail from new on lambda, no big deal, no constant failures etc He also couldnt tell me his best offer....this is the second listing as it didnt sell last time I will ask him regarding service history etc as there is no mention of that which probably means it hasnt got full history. Done an average of 7-8k miles a year from new. Thanks in advance ps suppose not gd to judge but this ones in Essex, i wouldnt buy a car from certain areas ie birmingham or east london
  9. months and months of research on what to avoid is definitely worth it, all the issues etc, what a headache, i learnt the hard way with my first car. No HPI, No research, bought on a whim. Was a CaT C lemon and lost 1400 has had to cut my losses, Guy who bought it off me crashed and claimed the full value of a hpi clear one. Over time I started picking up little tips here and there on buying. one thing you wont know till you buy is oil consumption. I hope you have shipped this car back along with that letter by now and started the claims process. IT may take as long as a previous poster, but you got to do it or face losing huge sums. This is why Id rather spend pennies on a car than huge fees...Fortunately it was half trade half finance, which you can stop. Still 5k outstanding ie your traded car if proven at the cost of time and court you should win the case as long as you dont drag your feet as you have here for 5 pages....and act promptly producing any evidence necessary
  10. Autotrader tried to call me so many times to renew my ad, I would have but when I looked at the stats then looked down at my phone, it didnt make sense for a site like that, time of the year maybe, . Maximum exposure I would say Ebay, because you get suggested or related items, its not concentrated traffic. "popular" without paying extra plus its easy to go from searching for a samsung s6 to looking at what the used car market is like in seconds,
  11. I seriously thought after the need for speed/fast and furious 1 era neons became illegal so people stopped using them on public roads, as for the wings well, ive seen huge wings on 5 series and m3 e92s lol. Depends on how many clothes you want to hang up , double rail wings are always a hit people can mod as they wish, im more in the look slightly better than stock/suttle range when it comes to styling exterior and interior, each to their own I guess,
  12. Saw a similar Z on ebay, good price too im sure, White Z, unique, probably 1 for every 10 on sale, is that an 04?
  13. I changed mine in all 3 of my previous cars, all I can say is wow, what a difference it makes, best gearbox so far was in the civic, as good as the GTI MK 4, in every way, just great. they say 30,000 miles, but more frequently only helps to preserve moving parts,
  14. im not so sure on Autotrader having the biggest audience as mentioned above as I only managed 250 views after 14 days On Ebay I had a 100 views per day and over a 9 day period I racked up 890 views, I had best offer/buy it now. Plus I had tags in the title, Like Type ;-), I got a warning message after the second advert went up, so I changed the title, views reduced to 80 per day which was okay, On the third advert I reverted back to using tags, they said it ruined the search experience for people and diverts traffic the wrong way. Which is true, but 900 views, the extra 200-300 views made a difference, The guy was asking about the car for about 2-3 weeks and finally came and bought it. I was honest and told him everything I also had to list it 3 times and no one wanted to meet the price. I sold my Civic 2006 CAT D after 2 and a half months. Eventually he came and bought the car from Wales. He turned out to be genuine, His dad owned a 370z, big coincidence ofcourse lol. Wording the advert correctly helps, but not too strong as it puts off people even genuine buyers as I found out. Also a lot of people dont read the ad in full. You will get used to answering questions like how many owners again? service history did you mention that? its grey right?
  15. hey, dont knock max power, i read that as a teen, , the days when 150 bhp GTI tuned got you top ratings and top brass, literally
  16. It was a nice example but im going to wait a few weeks closer to when my insurance ends, then i can really look and have enough funds, he wanted to add crazy interest to some tiny finance, wasnt worth it, he said it was owned by an older guy and not thrashed by the younger fellow, tracked, dragged and spun for cheers/whistles on a saturday night ....., ill take his word for it, plus its the last model before the VED hike,, not sure if its enough to keep the car value high, who knows maybe, pre 06 are still very desirable........5000 - 6000 is about right for a nice 04, with sub 90k miles, nice examples go fast, Petrol will go up again im sure
  17. If it was an audi i would say 50/50, but being jap, id say if you treat it right it will take care of you!
  18. you got to be kidding, the least someone can do is get home! I assume most havent had a clutch replacement unless someone had bad luck and was forced to change, did you change the flywheel as well? well my bros alternator died on the way home on the motorway, the guy came to recover us, my old civic battery died a few hours after parking up, had to get it towed and keys reprogrammed, the space civics make that silly computer glitch noise when trying to start
  19. I saw one Z for sale with a similar gear knob. Looks like a giant ladys toy to me, never understood why, as if the car on its own doesnt get enough haters and attention, why not add more ;-)
  20. Hi Zed-ites What price should buyers be paying for a clean example with full history with roughly 70-100,000 miles on the clock, 04/05 2-3 owners i.e This one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182018491752?euid=656251a235fb4576a950f5e837b03eb0&cp=1&exe=12792&ext=32581&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext Ive seen so many prices and insurance reckons they are valued around 5-6k for most. But people are selling up to £7800 even £8500. Some as low as £5500 depending if its imported etc, What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!
  21. Hey, nice build, what lip is that by the way? Looks neat, Mines" found it on a previous page!
  22. Ill be looking at a pioneer android/wifi 7" touch screen, how do aftermarket units go with the Bose system? p3 priority 3 service? and belts? Fan and Alternator? what about timing chains, worth getting that checked straight after purchase? I always take my car for a check up and full service thats if the inspection checked out okay and I bought it. My colleague and brother have both used Click Mechanic for inspections. They do a 118 point check for under £100 pounds, But the results probably vary from mechanic to mechanic lol Will be sure to post an ad I find, thanks
