  1. cheers more the merrier - the only roadster vids i have seen have strange creaking and clonking noises, despite loud custom exhausts, which is a bit worrying if normal?
  2. ...shy bunch?! - lets see some tasteful HD backroad vids - without music! - Not got my car yet, but I shall do some when I do
  3. ..think the hazard light relay / reversing beeper is a tad annoying.....
  4. ....that it has same power to weight as a Porsche SUV...
  5. no, subtle to restrained Nismo S and on road
  6. ....doesnt look like they want to improve their reputation among their biggest potential market...I guess it makes sense.............to whom I am not sure...their competitors presumably?
  7. Having looked through Youtube and the forum vids...I am left wanting more..much more Whilst suffering the frustration of having to slowly save up (and a local offered demo by forum member that did not transpire)...I feel the need, ..the need for Z.. I would really like to see enthusiast shot HD video of the Z, particularly the roadster..preferably RHD Brit...not US Dealer adverts! Just being enjoyed driving down Brit backroads - with differing exhaust / inlet variations (not too loud!) Dont understand why there isnt more - not US, Stance or racing / drifting...just being enjoyed by intelligent enthsiastic owners, the way they were designed to be Can we add a summer collection of this genre to the forum vids section / youtube, in HD?
  8. ....or his GF should cut down on the pies.....
  9. ..incidentally, you F type fans - anyone else see that the weird razor edge on the back is so out of place on an otherwise curvy GT - as are the oversized exhaust..
  10. I agree -its stupid using the cars they do - 'our GT car for less than price of a Liana?'
  11. ..shame the guys who designed the front and rear of the F Type had a falling out and deliberately tried to design their end not to match the other... the back is unforgivably awful whilst the front continues to ape the Aston styling (too wide mind)..
  12. This is written hopefully with some objectivity and with the simple aim of helping both forum members and J17 ... J17 clearly are keen on handling Zs....and this forum, err, fairly keen on owning Zs ...so wouldnt it be cool if we could trust and support each other?! - If the company has any business acumen whatsoever they should call a board meeting to address any weaknesses in their product preparation or services and go out of their way to engage with this and similar forums - to drag themselves up by their boot straps and push forward with a top professional service in future. - Since it will now clearly take some convincing of forum members to trade with J17, it would make obvious (laser in a coal mine kinda obvious) sense to formulate a custom Forum package service for single marque clubs such as ours. Trading 200 350s must make them the largest retailer of used Zs, and we are probably the principal single marque club with biggest buying and part exing (providing 2 sales) potential... This is not rocket science!....I want a 350....I looked at some ads and found one or two i liked..both were J17 as it happens..soo, naturally I researched the Company before taking 2 yrs of my savings and handing it to them and taking a car on trust, untested by indi professional - what did I find...well lets just say it wasnt encouraging. - I suspect I am not the only member who has trodden this path and looked elsewhere - how ridiculous is this??!! - J17 wants to be the leading purveyor of used Z - we are probably the single largest group of buyers / enthusiasts! - J17, for your own good, get it sorted - demonstrably & quickly before your reputation becomes irretrievable in specialist car forums ! They need to come up with some sort of specialist exhaustive, item by item sales checklist that will satisfy an experienced forum member / enthusiast - then an after sales rectification procedure, with timetable for actions - and again, not rocket science, but offer a genuine financial incentive (not just the best open market cash price, but a true concession in gratitude for the 'shooting fish in a barrel' sales opportunity! - Reduced marketing costs, exponential customer interest resulting from endorsement feedback + sready supply of well maintained used cars) - A no cost, principal component peace of mind warranty should form part of the special arrangement. So, J17 are you going to put in a little effort? - Glowing endorsements on car enthusiast forums will grow your fame and fortune exponentially...its that simple! - Start with this club, particularly as it is here that your reputations appears to be in tatters and would clearly see a huge swing in your favour. Provide one particular longterm technical member of your sales team to handle Forum inquiries (as part of his/her general sales duties) and train them up in the Marque, have them join our Forum to gain experience and represent your company / Forum liaison - With the help of the Forum, this individual can draft a Z Marque check form + History (incl when purchased) and present to J17 Board Draft after sales support procedure, to be signed by J17 at point of sale & presented to customer with a copy of (1) Provide a demonstrably genuine preferential price to Forum customers Provide an itemised principal components peace of mind incl warranty (FOC) signed at point of sale. This should incl an option to return vehicle for full immediate refund if after sales agreement terms are not honoured, and / or principal component failure / S.O.G.A breach J17, may I suggest you choose a senior representative and offer their services within a dedicated thread to hammer out something similar to above - trust us, your reputation and fortunes can only improve - there is no mileage in bitching at one another when one is the supplier for profit and the other is a queue of appreciative customers & supplier of well cherished cars!! If there is anything I can do to help, pm me - If I see solid evidence that in future you will truly respect us as customers, then you can include me in one or two Z sales + other performance cars over the next few years, and I dare say quite a few other members, if the concessions are favourable Hoping we can all pull together for mutual benefit David S, Northants
  13. ..can anyone show me where to find them plse
  14. 'bdc' ? - is there a build thread for these? - Do you know where they are based in UK? - The Sikky conversion kit is quite a find, not cheap, but quality looking - not sure if there are any RHD issues LS3Z......should be enough power - over 600bhp with stroker kit....gulp..
  15. ...voila: http://www.sikky.com...t install.pdf http://www.sikky.com/images/pdf/1378486700350z%20mount%20kit%20install.pdf
  16. JetP - great reference - will study with interest not to mention bookmark Re LS conversion, I love this engine for so many reasons and have looked into drop-in conversions with this unit before, in different cars, however whilst ironically it would be good for the Cerbera....the Cerbera engine would perhaps be more suitable in the Z... Out of interest, anyone in UK do road going LS Z conversion for reasonable cost? - Anyone with roadcar videos of this? - How does engine weight compare?
  17. ...no denying the Z looks macho (see Deejays tag) - maybe someone should fit an AJP 4.2 flatplane? - Seriously - from memory its a 21" cube and quite prob weighs v little more, if at all - it will comfortably lift the Z to the magic 300/300/ton - is well in character and will sound right for the Z - A normal V8 would sound too 'heavy' but the AJP would sound suitably frenetic with its carbon airboxes & pulse frequency - Any modders fancy it? - The engine & box would be available from one of the TVR racing outfits, suitably fettled.....hmmm.....just add LSD and 4.08 and we would have our own little supercar...for peanuts, relatively speaking - cheaper than a 370 & quicker than most folk could possibly want
  18. Again, good reference - I had an 03 Sti PPP + drove a 333 bhp JDM - they are sensationally rapid up to around 70 thx to power to weight and v sot sprint gearing + wham bam boost curve slamming you back in the seat adding greatly to fairground ride thrill factor - 400bhp would be insane with my reaction times now - last time I drove a 310 sti I was gob smacked with fist three gears on a back lane... Any experience with the hatch model after he Hawk? - Told max safe tune was 330 on that engine, but would now suit me well I suspect
  19. Great reference material there, duly stored
  20. seriously though, wouldnt want forced induction, nitrous not practical, not easy to tune, which only leaves sprint gearing for first 4 or 5 gears or / and losing 1/2 ton of excess weight (maybe thats why in Z land, all the drifters weigh half what we Brits do.. )
  21. ...and why folk resort to nitrous, when the helium just doesnt do it..
  22. ..I guess thats why Nissan has the Skyline series, shame thats too far - the Z with 300 lb ft / ton would be a great sweetspot -dont think theres enough space for the helium balloons, not with that Z brace in the cargo bay, an all...
