  1. ..the Griff is pre-cat with strt through 5" exhaust to rear (1 srt through 'silencer') then Y into 2 x 3" - even after all these yrs, if you are accelerating under a bridge, you wince, thinking that something from Penske is overtaking flat out
  2. ..big improvement...I wonder if any specialist has looked at practicality of fitting 370 auto lock catch mechanism in 350? Have you had both 350 and 370? - It is said the 370 has much worse rear tyre noise and engine / exhaust has lost its magic - what are your observations, cos the roof mechanism alone is tempting (when values are lower..)
  3. ..huh, so you like it leaded?!
  4. geeez, feel sooooo much happier watching that vid over and over now got any ytube clips of yours from inside? Heard one or two phenomenal CAI sounds in drive bys - I dont want exhaust too loud - got a Griff for that - just looking for more detail and character on, hopefully an HR - thinking of minimising CATs to just pass MOT, then a tuned set up, ideally with single skin (not rolled) quad exit pipes with hi flow filter elements (Cosworth?) or dual part exposed cones / similar - carbon resonance boxes near plenum could help too
  5. anyone know the going rate to have this done: 1) DMF & std clutch 2) lightened DMF & std clutch 3) lightened SMF & std clutch 4) addit cost of traffic friendly mildly uprated clutch over std
  6. ..hmm just listened again...the 'fffa fffa' noise could well be wind, but the rattling (sounds like a pair of reading glasses in a plastic bin....err, which it could just be..)
  7. ...really want to believe you....must get a test drive - anyone know any forum members around Kettering area?
  8. trying to attach some interior shots I saved from web a while back - have them in a word doc, how do i copy them here (simply! - cant do photobox or whatever...an age thing)
  9. 40 mins, thats worth knowing, so you could see a professional get sufficient access to cover in leather if preferred? Yes, think you are right, its a cultural thing, not cost - just look what TVR achieved with their Sagaris & Tuscan interiors - even featured own design and machined knobs - fed up with mass produced, same old - Pagani must be TVR fans judging by their interiors...mind you, they know how to charge and carry the weight
  10. cheers guys for boosting my confidence..incidentally, do you not recognize the noises in the youtube link?
  11. ...just?! ...you are being very modest about your trim removal skills surely...that sounds like 1/2 a days work (stripping out panels), no?
  12. ...do you really think so? - ok the power and weight were a little tongue in cheek, but the rest would elevate the car some way and cost what, $150 in mass production?
  13. incidentally has it endured many hours of sunlight - just wondering if fading or delaminating / blistering would be an issue (even in UK dash temps can get over 50 deg c I imagine)
  14. did you take any build photos? - Which panels were removed and could you link to material provider please
  15. with a little effort the 350 cab can be transformed from heavily criticised to a really nice sportscar cab - Manufacturer should take note - put some detail into door cards and leather trim + dash in alcantara / suede / hide + upgrade remaining hard plastics on 2 or 3 style options (eg carbon look with satin finish) and replace silver plastic with satin alloy, maybe even some brass accents a la TVR While they are at it they could refresh their NVH skills and isolate tyre noise from cab and free up exhaust and induction, add 50hp & 75 ft lb and lose 3 cwt..voila ....jobs a goodun
  16. ...mmm, very 70s supercar - I imagine wrinkling and getting glue where you didnt want it was among many issues? Well clearly covering in leather by a professional must be practical - how much dissasembly was required and what is situation with airbag?
  17. Hi Dave, so the 370 comes as std with front auto latching catch rather than 350 manual handle?
  18. impressive! - anyone with dashboard itself covered?
  19. ..but the 350 requires manual latching to windscreen header rail - i am assuming the 370 doesnt?
  20. Being a leather fan and a hater of poor plastics, how far have members gone with quality leather upgrades?
  21. I see this co: mods4cars SmartTOP offers solution for 370Z Roadster - What are the differences in 350 / 370 hood mechanisms? - How practical would it be to upgrade 350 to, presumably auto front latching as per 370, to allow Smart remote operation?
  22. Zman, where are you based and what are your Z trading specialities
  23. unfortunately I have not even been in one in motion yet! - - I sincerely hope that I shall be pleasantly surprised, I am saving up & plan to use as civilized daily car with a mild exhaust and hi-flow air filters - I found the TS GTV quite a firm / slightly crude ride on poor backroads and great on A roads If you listen to the vid (linked) and similar, I would not be comfortable with that level of rattling and clonking as it is a continual distraction to purity of exhaust sound + I dont want to try and drown clonks out with loud exhaust
  24. Fancy a roadster, however all the vids I have watched appear to have similar endless rattling and clonks + some shimmy ..... is this commonplace, can most of prevalent noises be eliminated (other than not driving it down backroads!) - is it the hood mechanism, if so can rubber blocks be fitted in appropriate places to prevent it? Happy to stick to Rays and suggested tyres, even go up a profile if they will fit with std 05 onward UK suspension (did this with my GTV and the reduced thunking was welcome, with no apparent loss of cornering) Appreciate coupe is going to be structurally more rigd, however being a bit of a maverick, tempted by more unusual roadster Are later roadsters less prone to flex (extra stiffening)? - Does this make things better or worse? Here is example of what I mean (nice vid other than rattles and clonks): Its not the nice exhaust over-run popping!
