  1. I've been toying with the idea of putting a biggish sticker on my windscreen and I can't make my mind up whether I should do it or not so I'm hoping to gather some opinions... I'm not 20 any more so time for making my car shout "LOOK AT ME" is over but I'd still like to stand out from the crowd a little (already have full exhaust, rays in gunmetal and waiting for my 20/25mm wheel spacers to arrive). I was thinking about this Japtastic sticker on the windscreen, along passenger's A-pillar: http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT OR my other favourite is this GAME OVER sticker on top of my windscreen: http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT But I don't think I have the balls to actually get this one, it's a bit too cocky, especially since 350 isn't really that fast... What do you guys&gals think? Negative comments more than welcome. EDIT: Added a Poll
  2. I bought Autoglym HD based on reviews and recommendation on various sites, it seemed like the best value for money mid-range wax and I love it! I used Dodo Juice before and it washed off after less than a month, HD stays on for 2 months+. This is what it did to 10-year old paint on my EP3 : This test was what made me buy it: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=76435
  3. As promised http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/91265-japspeed-k2-y-pipe-silenced-decats-noise-video/
  4. I didn't come across any videos with Japspeed K2 + decats so somebody might find this thread useful plus I'm interested to see what you guys think. There is a slight backbox vibration noise on overrun at about 2k rpm which appeared after fitting decats but I'm in love anyway. Spec: 04' VQ35DE Top Speed silenced decats Japspeed Y-pipe Japspeed K2 exhaust Velocity stack (flyboy airbox mod) HKS panel filter Tunnel acceleration Startup + rev
  5. K2 is a lot quieter than K1 but still not what I'd call neighbour-friendly when you add decats to the mix. I might record something tomorrow on my way to Yorks Big Breakfast.
  6. I edited my post so you might have overlooked this
  7. Okay then, here's one for the ladies so that nobody feels left out! WhackyWill, I've fitted resonated decats, already had Japspeed Y-pipe and Japspeed K2. It's just right - silent at idle, still okay for longer drives and head-turning when you put your foot down above 3k rpm.
  8. I don't know what it is with cats and boxes!! I guess I'll have to let them stay there... :D
  9. Plenum spacer arrived today, very well packaged and in great condition, thanks Kyle!
  10. I'm having my brake lines and clutch line replaced with braided ones right now, knowing how it improved pedal feel in my previous car I'm sure I'll be happy when I pick the car up. I'm also having my pads changed from almost new EBC Red Stuff which were on when I bought the car to Ferodo DS2500 because Red Stuff are pretty much useless, even when warmed up they don't bite nowhere near as well as DS2500.
  11. Hi all, I had to make the toughest decision of my life recently - what colour to refurb my RAYS in. I had a few ideas in mind, mainly dark purple, bronze and gunmetal and decided to find a pic of a zed like mine in decent resolution (lazy and weather was crap) and photoshop a few options. I got a bit carried away and made over 20 different variants, some of them just out of curiosity because I'm past the "attention whore" stage so anything bright was out of question. I thought I might as well share it here, might help somebody make the decision. I eventually went with fairly conservative dark gunmetal, took me a while to decide on the particular paint but I'm over the moon with the final result. The paint is called Grey Black (code 7A1) and it's from Porsche GT3RS (pics at the bottom). 7A1 Grey Black (don't have a picture in the sun but they look very different depending on the light which I find really cool )
  12. I'll take the plenum spacer if it comes with all the bolts and washers.
  13. Yeah, I've done the same thing on my Civic so I know how to do it. I was planning to use a sealant this time, I think I'll go for this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Surface-Sealant-Glass-Inhibitor-Repellent/dp/B00A3S1RGU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Seems to get good reviews from people who used it on their headlights.
  14. Brilliant, thank you for the quick reply! I was worried it was on the inside but in that case I will get it sorted asap.
  15. My lights are hazed pretty badly and I'm not sure whether it's condensation that dried out inside the headlamps or something else, anyone had similar stains on/in their headlights?
  16. I've just switched from a 244bhp 04' EP3 to a pretty much stock 04' Zed, from my point of view: EP3 was noticeably faster (203 bhp/ton vs 178 bhp/ton), especially at lower speeds EP3 felt a bit more "chuckable" on B-roads, really easy to drive on the limit (which is partly why I got bored of it) EP3 was much more crashy on uneven roads, took all the fun away from driving fast on bumpy tarmac , Z feels much more steady on bumpy roads At 70 mph EP3 was doing about 3500 rpm, made me feel like I could use another gear plus more wind noise, etc. EP3's projector headlights were noticeably brighter with 5k HIDs fitted, pre-facelift zed lights are a bit disappointing in comparison Steering wheel on EP3 is a bit better looking to me and not as thin as in 350 although it lacks steering controls/cruise 350's driving position is lower and nicer and the whole car makes you feel a little bit special whereas EP3 felt like a regular hatch (it is much more practical though with large boot and sensible space in the back) EP3's boy racer image is as strong as ever now that you can get one for 2k and it's probably it's biggest drawback, 350 is in a completely different league in that respect, everybody seems to like it, no matter what age
  17. I flashed at you on Otley Rd and you waved back, I'm pretty sure we live in the same estate, let me know if you read this!
  18. Thank you everyone Knowing my modding bug I'm pretty sure I'll make use of that at some point!
  19. Thank you for the warm welcome everybody! Thanks, I noticed the plate straight away and thought it was an added bonus! I know I will miss VTEC too but Zed's engine definitely has its advantages!
  20. Hi all, I have heard a lot of good things about this forum and I'm looking forward to becoming more active on here. I bought my 350 last week, went all the way up to Edinburgh to view her (200 mile each way, best day in my missus' life haha!) because after viewing a couple of dogs and browsing ads for 3 weeks I just had this gut feeling that she was worth it and luckily I wasn't wrong! 32k miles on the clock in the exact spec that I was after (gunmetal, GT pack with black leather and rays) with a few subtle mods, apart from a couple of niggles that I will soon sort out she drives and looks like new! I'm coming from a modified Civic Type R EP3 which seemed a bit faster (244bhp and only 1200kg) but I think I got bored of FWD plus I never really liked the stereotypical boy racer image of an EP3 owner so I decided to go for something a bit more classy and exciting in the wet. And that gorgeous V6 burble... Of course I had to take a pic for facebook on the way back home so I might as well paste it in here too, here's happy me with MY Z!
