  1. Anyone want to make an offer close to the asking price before I put these on ebay?
  2. Evo magazine and top gear both reference vtec and turbo on their websites...I guess we'll just have to see. VTEC has been proven to work brilliantly with boost plenty of times in the aftermarket world, I think honda would be mad to ditch VTEC as it gives them a niche and appeals to the old honda die hards!
  3. apart from the Woosh of a nice bit of good old fashion boost The new Civic Type R will have boost and VTEC....certainly an interesting proposition. Hopefully it will still rev! I thought they ditched the VTEC because of the harsh emissions they have to abide by? Turbo and VTEC would be awesome though. They are keeping VTEC aswell as boosting. Using VTEC alone to achieve NA power figures other manufacturers use turbos to achieve probably screws them emissions wise....hence the move to boost.

  5. Looks like a lot of us have Honda DNA. My CRX was the only car so far I've kept for a significant amount of time (4.5 Years)
  6. First car was a Saxo VTR Then the Jap love affair began MK2 CRX VTEC Then got an integra DC2 Then an MR2 rev 3 turbo Next was an impreza Type R which I spent a fortune on having a full engine rebuild...kind of regret selling this Round cadwell Then a brief trip back to french town, Clio Trophy. Sold after 3 weeks, can't get on with anything not Japanese it seems Back to a Honda. Loved the handling but just wasn't fast enough to keep me entertained any more! Finally decided I needed something front engined and rear wheel drive. Looked at a couple of M3s but they were ropey. Then decided to keep it jap and went for the 350z which I'm loving at the moment!
  7. I too wait untill the oil pressure is just under 30 psi at idle speed as that's as low as it gets on my car, indicating it's fully up to temp.
  8. Up for sale are 2x rear fitment Barum Bravuris 2 tyres. They were fitted in December so have loads of tread left as per the pics. They are pretty decent tyres but I've upgraded to Michelin super sports. Looking for £100 the pair collected from Leeds which is less than half retail price. Can be delivered for £25. Thanks for looking!
  9. Im 6ft5, find the zed great for room, although seat is all the way back and fully reclined. I purposely bought a non GT as the cloth manual adjusting seats are apparently a bit lower.....plus I hate leather . Honestly you should be fine, I sat in a S2000 the other day and felt like a sardine.....350 has shed loads of room for a car of this type
  10. Ordered a set of 4 myself yesterday, can't wait to see what all the fuss is about!
  11. Get a car with decent tyres and brakes recently done......they are expensive maintenance items so pay a little more to get a car with them done recently. Avoid cars with suspension knockin noises or negotiate as required.....a nackerd compression arm ball joint (common) will cost you £250 for a new arm plus fitting if you can't do it yourself. MPG is pretty crap as you'd expect for a large engined, heavy-ish car. I'd say on the whole they are on the upper side for general maintenence costs so buy wisely. On the plus side they don't seem to suffer many mechanical issues so what extra you pay in replacables you might save on mechanical repairs vs a different car...
  12. Buy that milltek system currently for sale on here........then I can stop tempting myself to buy it
  13. Welcome, sounds like a good one.
  14. My old dear has one of those shape celicas, I borrow it now and again, really nice to drive, steering is very direct. My car history reads: MK2 Honda CRX vt Integra Type R DC2 Mk2 MR2 turbo Impreza Type R Renault clio trophy Civic EK9 type R Now 350

    metal clips

Tried splitting the calipers, the screw heads are officially nackerd. There was so much crap under the plates that I had to really prize them up to get it all out, I'm struggling to get them back flat enough, tried tapping them back into shaped and compressing them with grips buy I'm struggling. This issue has obviously been going on for a while, the old inside pads on each caliper were down to the metal so obviously they've not been retracting properly and I can see someones tried to get these off before. Alex do you have any second hand calipers in stock? If so can you PM me a price? I need the car back on the road urgently. Cheers

    metal clips

Well I'm fooked. The screws on the slider plates are completely nackered, looks like someone's had a go at this before. I prized the sliders up to get some crap out and it was a bit better, but still not good enough, pads still won't slide properly. I need to get the plates off, I've even taken the calipers off to get the best purchase I can on the screw heads but they are toffeed. Alex what are my options here? I really don't want to have to buy new calipers just because of these little crappy badly designed pieces of metal!

    metal clips

Never known so much hassle fitting brakes . My plan was to try get some from Nissan in the morning guess that's a no go then. Alex, thanks I'll give that a go, do you have any second hand ones kicking about if necessary? Cheers

    metal clips

Yeah the metal clips the pads sit on, they need to be able to slide on them but mine are deformed, took some serious effort to get the old pads out. Maybe if I can get them off I can clean the crap out from underneath them and straighten them up, the screws that hold them in have seen better days though. Will take another look tomorrow

    metal clips

Evening all Can anyone tell me what the metal clips are called that the pads sit on (Brembo calipers) and where I can get new ones? I've fitted new discs and pads today but these clips are deformed and the pads won't fit in properly. I tried forcing them in but it binds the brakes solid, they need to be replaced. Cheers
  20. Currently on 97k on the original
  21. Guys, had this reply from Andy turner makes sense I guess It would be more beneficial if each car could be booked in separately. If then there is any problems that arise on any particular car there is then the time to rectify this and discuss available options etc. The problem with block bookings makes this more difficult without causing a backlog of waiting. Regards Andy Turner
  22. I bought mine for a stubborn ball joint, whole assembly was turning and compressing the suspension arm didn't work. Impact gun had it straight off......plus I always wanted an excuse to buy one
  23. Hi BJ not after a huge group discount but was up for a Leeds owners meet, you gone off that idea? Sure if that's what people want to do. Can anyone geniunely interested send me a PM and I'll try sort it out? Maybe a drive out in the country after if it's a nice day?
