    Low seats

Had a look at it, not sure those seats look any lower than stock....and they're a bit fancy for me I Did some research, the floor plan looks like a real ball ache to do anything with Also it seems people have trouble getting wide seats in there, might be a no go for me

    Low seats

Hi all I had a 350z a few years ago, the reason i sold it was that at 6ft6 i didn't have enough head room with my helmet on on for track days, it was near enough impossible to drive. Now i was wondering if anyone has managed to mount a fixed back bucket seat lower than a standard cloth seat? I need atleast another 2 inches over a cloth seat i'd imagine. On my track Civic I have side mounts bolted straight through the car floor and bolted underneath the car with spreader plates....so i'm literally sat on the floor :D. Is this an option on the Z....it obviously depends on the shape of the floor pan inside the car (needs to be flat really) and if there is anything in the way underneath the car? I really fancy another Z but its useless to me if i cant track it. Cheers!
  4. Do the seats sit lower than stock? I sold my z because I didn't have enough head room!
  5. Still got these in My garage if anyone wants to make me an offer
  6. His premises are pretty small to be fair, wouldn't suit a meet. What space he did have was taken up by 2 E type jags, an impreza and some crazy drag American truck things!
  7. £5000.....politely tell him to get f**ked
  8. Just to update this, I finally got round to getting my alignment done at Andy Turners. Nice guy and a real Motorsport enthusiast. It's totally transformed my car, no more skittishness, feels really planted now and the front end turns in sharper. Only charged me £40 too, bargain. Got my recommendation anyway if you Yorkshire guys are still looking to get a geo setup done.
  9. Possibly I didn't give it enough of a chance but I just couldn't get on with it. I was expecting the 2.0 in that chassis to feel pretty Damn fast but it just didn't. I just thought the DC2 had it beaten in every area, felt like an event to drive that. I think that bar stool driving position just wound me up from the start and the gear stick throw was too long but I suppose felt ok in a french way. I just don't think it was for me, though their popularity can't be denied!
  10. I bought a Clio 182 Trophy, supposedly the best hot clio. I sold it after 2 weeks. The driving position was terrible, seats weren't very supportive, the engine had no torque and the top of the Rev range didn't have enough bite to make up for this. Gear change was crap and it sounded like a fart. I really dont understand the fuss, it gave me no feeling that I was in a proper performance car at all. I find the 350z really involving on a B road, great sound and handling balance and feel are great despite its weight. I have had plenty of "drivers" cars, DC2s, Impreza Type R and many more and I really put the 350 up there with them. Maybe the people who think they can't do track/B road work haven't had decent tyres, brakes,Geo? Sorting those out has really transformed my car!
  11. I'm still the only Z on the attendees list.......
  12. Surely the point of HFCs is that they pass an MOT, otherwise you'd just fit much cheaper decats?
  13. Short stints with regular pit stops to let the oil/brakes/tyres cool are the key! Get on it

  15. Anyone fancy this? I'm just about to book it, be good to see some more Zeds there! http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackday/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=833itemid&vmcchk=1&Itemid=1
  16. Did you get good gains with this Paddy78? Tempted for my rev up....does it need a spacer too?
  17. Could be tempted to part with mine as a car has come up for sale that I've wanted for ages. Higher mileage than you were looking for at 98k but drive it and you'd never know it. FSH and just fitted £1200 worth of tyres and brakes. Message me if interested:) http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/83714-my-2006-350z/#entry1297581
  18. My drivers side window is a bit funny too. If I bring it back up using the auto/ second switch click it gets to the top then drops straight back down a couple of inches. So when going up I have to keep the switch held at half pressure all the way up then release when the window gets to the top for it to stay closed.....strange.
  19. It would be a lot more practical without that bloody x brace, the boot would be a really good size without that. I'll be switching to a more practical car when I have kids........Impreza/evo .
  20. I'd considered braided lines but I've had fitment issues with them on previous cars and didn't really fancy the headache again. Maybe one for the future.
  21. Small update. Braking was pretty crap when I bought the car so took delivery on this little lot from cougar store. Glad I did because on inspection the pads were almost down to the metal and the discs pretty lipped! Ferrodo DS2500 front and rear pads Black Diamond front and rear discs Motul RBF600 fluid Before and after Flushing and bleeding So with the brakes sorted....time to address the tyres. It was running RE040s on the front and budget rears, traction control was constantly kicking in with no real need and didn't feel right at all. So I decided to see what all the fuss was about and order a set of Michelin pilot supersports after bedding in the brakes and tyres I took her out for a proper drive.....wow it's like a different car. So much grip from the tyres and braking is nice and powerful. Will see what they can really do at cadwell park shortly! Next up will be 4 wheel alignment then I'll be looking for a new exhaust system.
  22. I've got the stock replica japspeed back box fitted, no issues at all with fitment or otherwise. Only reason I'll change it is to get something a bit louder
