  1. I'm going to try get booked in for next week, I'll mention that there are other people interested. I can't really see there being a group buy discount though as it's already so cheap!
  2. As it's a second car you can put it on a classic policy. Classicline insurance will cover the 350 as a modern classic. They don't take into account no claims bonus so you're free to use your ncb on your daily with a mainstream company. £400-500 tops with Classicline, you should be able to cover both for 1k.
  3. Wouldn't let the mileage put you off on its own if the history and condition are good. It's 2014 and people still get scared of Japanese cars over 100k.....jeez! My zed is on 97k and runs like a dream. However if you think it's over priced then either try knock him down or look elsewhere
  4. Indeed....all this talk you see on forums of the Zed being an overweight cruiser nearly put me off buying one. Glad I didn't listen because I find it a really rewarding and involving drive...even on the crap tyres it came with. Can't wait to get some supersports on and see what it can really do!
  5. We didn't stop at that hotel/restaurant, far too swanky. Just nicked their car park for a photo shoot
  6. Evening all. Just got back from a day out driving in the zed around the North Yorkshire moors, thought I'd share a couple of pics. My friend was in his DC2 Type R, I've owned a couple of these over the years so know how capable they are (very!)....pleased to say the zed seemed the superior of the two today. I've only owned it a few weeks, really gelling with it now!
  7. I have the same problem, cuts in far too early and I run mismatched front and back tyres. First thing I do after turning the engine on is turn off the TC. I'll be sorting out tyres soon so will report back if it solves it.
  8. I generally do all my own work on my cars. I've found jap cars are usually bolted together pretty similarly, working on a 2006 is a breeze compared to some of the early 90s stuff I've had where everything you touch is seized solid .
  9. Anyone got any reviews of these on a 350? I see a few people in this thread have bought sets
  10. So I bought the Z in a part ex deal with my immaculate civic type R EK9 I bought it knowing it had a knocking noise from the front drivers side suspension. Had a poke a round and found loads of play in the big bush on the compression arm. Not sure if the ball joint was nackerd too (i reckon it was), I decided to cut my losses and buy a whole new OEM assembly. Purchased from Horsham Developments for £250 with a new cone Luckily these are pretty easy to fit. Subframe dropped and arm removed. Old vs new Fitted. MMMMM shiney So test drive and hurrah no more knocking! Also didn't realise how badly it was affecting the car but it's now much more stable under braking and Cornering too! Next up will be brakes, alignment, decent tyres and a few other bits. Really enjoying the car at the moment but there's definite room for improvement!
  11. Thought I'd start a Diary of my 350z as I've had it a couple of weeks now. It's my first Z, had a whole assortment of Japanese performance cars before this though! Not gonna be any crazy build but more just a log of bits and bats that I do. Couple of pics from my evening blast tonight:
  12. Had a reply from Alan turner, £40+vat for 4 wheel alignment for those that were interested. He's on holiday till 22nd though!
  13. Well tried to call them today, left a message but no reply. Have dropped them an email so will see what happens. how many people are genuinely interested in using them? Ta
  14. I'll let you leeds guys know when I've spoken to Andy turner and get some prices etc
  15. No not yet, I might pop down on Friday if I get chance. Apparently he looks after a lot of motorsport TVRs and is a stock car world champion.....sounds like a good shout to me. Funny he's 5 mins from my house, lived in this area all my life and never knew the place existed .
  16. Also looking at getting this done in leeds. These guys seem to have a pretty good rep on the Pistonheads forum, only down the road from me so think I'll give them a shot http://www.andyturnermotorengineering.co.uk/Andy_turner_leeds_4_wheel_laser_alignment_Car_tracking.html

  18. I've been doing plenty of research, looks like a great forum. Anything specific to look out for on a 2006 (300 model), aside from the ordinary? It does have 95k, but full service history and my research tells me mileage isn't really an issue if looked after? Cheers!
  19. Maybe I should just take the plunge then, I have a deal set up for Sunday, part x my Type R for a 2006 zed. Guess I'm just getting cold feet and needed a bit of reassurance that the 350 is the way to go
  20. To be honest I'm fed up with modifying cars....it's a never ending cycle . I just want something I can drive and enjoy that will hold up pretty well on road and track!
  21. Evening all. This is my first post on here, I'm looking at picking up a 350z on the weekend and looking for some advice. For the past few years I've always had a daily diesel and a fun car for weekends and a few track days. Now I'm considering selling both and getting a car that can cover all bases, commuting and b-road blasting with 3-4 track days a year. I came up with the 350z for this...my only concern is it may be too cruiser and less racer for me? What's it like on track, it's pretty heavy which concerns me a bit, but most of the reviews I've read have been glowing? Currently my toy car is a jap import civic ek9 type R with a few track mods, I've had imprezas, mr2 turbo and some other jap machinery in the past. Is the 350 the car I'm looking for? Big engine in the front and RWD sounds great to me, but as said 1500kg concerns me a little in the fun stakes. Opinions welcomed and sorry for the long post!
