  1. No piece of plastic ever is when it goes on to something with 4 wheels!
  2. (not quoting anyone, it got a bit hall of mirrors'y) I didn't see your post about that one Will, will see what halfords has.. I want it and i want it now, don't like waiting for postage
  3. Hmm, ok, a few people have said about it being on the outside.. it just looks so insidey and you can't feel it on the outside :/ Maybe I'll try some random headlight restorer from halfrauds first.. need to go there tonight anyway. Cheers Because the headlights are plastic, the UV makes them go cloudy, it's the same as say a slide in the garden, the colour will fade, but it will feel the same. A gentle cutting compound will remove basically a tiny layer of the plastic, buffing the haze out. You want something very gentle so that you don't actually scratch the plastic. Some headlight restoring kits have lots of steps including sand paper of various grades. What you want is something like t-cut if you have it, t-cut is very harsh though, so I wouldn't really recommend that Ok mate, I'll see what they have to offer was just looking at a maguiars product, had 5 star reviews, everyone saying their car failed MOT and they'd been quoted £XXX to replace headlights and this cost £15 and now they look new, etc...

  5. Hey guys, My headlights are getting cloudy to the point that it might fail the next MOT (I think..). its inside the lights, condensation build up etc.. I've read about baking the lights to break the seal, and then cleaning the inside, refinishing the inside. Good plan or is that a really bad idea? I read something about UV coating or something (which I'd probably polish off)? Don't really want to buy new lights, they're bloody expensive!
  6. I've reached my quota of 350z related purchases this month
  7. posting to NI is fine, you'll have to cover the cost though
  8. ok definitely will use double sided tape!!
  9. £10?! DAYLIGHT ROBBERY! I expected it to be more than that.. maybe I'll try tape, if its not quite good enough, I'll get one cheers
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170587545637 Anyone know anything about these? Seems pretty cheap and look good..
  11. Ahhh I thought of the spring for the lid which I have, didn't realise there was a metal clip.. Oh well don't think I'll be able to source just the clip so double sided tape will do
  12. I have my OEM 18"s in the 350z for sale section with tyres..
  13. I think the light stays on, as I can't see any way it would know to be on/off depending on the ashtray being open, no switch or anything. I can sit mine right but when I open it, it moves out of position.. will doubled sided tape it later Need to superglue the flap back together as one side snapped during transit (replaced flocked one..)
  14. I also have one you can have cheap.. I must say, I've secured my number plates with double sided tape and have never had a problem.. After years it may come lose at the edge, as the bumper isn't flat, so there is more force pulling it away at the sides, but you can easily notice this and restick it, it'll never just fall off.
  15. I have the passenger airbag cover, but its got black flocking over it. Any use?
  16. Hey, The ashtray in my centre console moves and doesn't seem to clip in to anything, I can't see how it does clip, though I can sit it in the correct place where it looks right and opens correctly.. Before I get the double sided sticky tape out, is there a proper way this is secured in place? Thanks in advance
  17. Erm is a z supposed to be really responsive in 6th at 40mph? Mine drones and accelerates slowly?
  18. Amongst replacing the whole interior paneling, I've put the finishing touch on my rear strut brace cover - A new Z badge as mine died during prep.. On the interior paneling front, I've had the whole front dashboard and centre console, and the one that runs down the middle with the gear stick, hand brake etc (I'd also call this the centre console?) out over the last few days, replaced it all, I just need to fix the cup holder back in, fix the ashtray (bracket snapped :'() and reconnect the bonnet release mechanism and put the drivers footwell panels back on.. Rest of the interior panels are done except the ones the seatbelt bolts over and the speakers/divider thing.
  19. Looks awesome I like how the sun is cutting through the Z perfectly ;p Thanks very much Sarah
  20. Good choice and welcome You do realise you'll be modding in no time and end up default on your mortgage?
  21. Sounds like breaking a car is better than selling if you have the time and space lol
