  1. I went, was a bloody nice day.. Had my z but was in spectator car park. Saw a few and one drifting. Awesome
  2. I saw one of these last night on the M20, had a big sticker on the side "HYBRID TEST VEHICLE". I quite like how they look, but from what I've just read, they aren't worth it...
  3. True, I guess there are people like that. But I still think that it would happen far less if you were picking it up from the owner. Also I guess a track situation is a bit different. There'd probably still be some amount of that I agree, though the number is small and probably wouldn't happen to the vast majority of people doing it.. Driving recklessly on the track is more likely as you feel safer, with no pedestrians, on coming traffic, lights, blind corners and obviously speed limits etc.
  4. Fast cars are meant to be spanked.. If I let someone have a go in my Z, I fully expect them to put their foot down, thats the idea of it right?
  5. I saw the first page of replies and didn't bother.. found it a bit sad to be honest and maybe not particularly welcoming for her.
  6. There has been some research in to it, people are far less likely to treat a car badly if they pick it up from the owner and drop it back to the owner.. its not quite the same as dropping it back to a faceless corporation, you feel like you are looking after someones baby.
  7. Yeah, I can imagine it would be difficult to find insurance for it, one of the issues I'd be looking in to Nice to hear of someone doing it
  8. Of course, thats why there would be process in place, the same as there is when hiring from a specialist hire company. It would be managed for you (on the insurance, money, etc side of things) but you'd have to follow the process of detailing issues before and after so you and they are both protected.
  9. Yeah.. Yeah, special insurance would be arranged separately from the owners normal policy for the hire period. You can hire an R8 for about £1000+ for a weekend.. I'm just thinking about it, wondering how much it would cost for this kind of insurance for the period + how much people would expect to hire their Z for a weekend. So, I'm hiring a 3.7 litre V6 Mustang in Vegas for 10 days, it's in August and I'm under 25 so both of those things put the cost up. I'm paying just over £400 including the young driver fees, all the available insurance so I don't have to pay out for dings and a full tank of fuel. I'm not sure they'd be a market for a 350, a 370 Nismo yes, but not a standard one really. I'm not really talking about Z's that is just an example for the case of this forum £400 for 10 days, insurance, fuel etc for <25.. that is amazing. I'd like to see that in the UK.. the small amount of research I've done for decent cars is crazy prices. I'm just thinking along the lines of there is nothing out there at the moment for the people who can't afford to hire an R8 or a Ferrari or something, but still want to get a nice sexy fast car for a weekend in the summer. And on the flip side, some people who own these cars might be able to justify it a bit more if they could make a bit of money out of it when they aren't using it.. Obviously some are financially secure with their second car Z and have no need to do it and wouldn't consider it, but others might..
  10. The hassle of owning and storing a fleet of high performance vehicles is probably far greater ... The only difference is turning it from a b2c to a c2c model. Just connecting people and giving them the tools process and support to do it.

  12. I was thinking more of "for a weekend, doing under X miles, any milage above X charged at Y per mile" or something. You'd agree for someone to hire it for a weekend, they get checked out, pre-pay deposit to cover cosmetic stuff (they ding it, they don't get their deposit back, etc), and insurance to cover anything more serious. They turn up, you show them how to operate everything etc, give them a bit of advice, detail any current cosmetic marks and milage and both sign it When they come back, you inspect it, record the milage, agree any new cosmetic marks etc, sign off on it and off they go.
  13. Thanks for your opinions (and talking about hiring my other half 😊). Pretty unanimous answer!
  14. If your Z is a second car, how would you feel about hiring it out to others, if it were fully above board, properly insured for that, you were able to meet the person who would be using it, and you got a bit of extra cash? I don't want to hire anyones Z, just asking for opinions Cheers
  15. I opened the door of my dads brand new Toyota RAV4 in to the bar around one of those "trolley spaces" in a B&Q car park.. not used to being in such a high up car and the bar was below the window level and didn't think to look down.. Made a nasty dent in the edge of the door, with some chipped paint. He was not best pleased but I gave him money to get it fixed.. @*!# happens and all you can do is say sorry and pay for the damage.
  16. I think Keyzer has some, you can adjust them and point them as far the other way as possible...its not perfect but I think it passed MOT (or maybe he just has a friendly MOTer)
  17. Unless it's a fine, they can't enforce it in any way, they can try take you to court but if they win they'll only be able to get what they lost in revenue or whatever which isn't usually worth them taking you to court for. They'll threaten it and then forget about you when you don't reply. If it is a fine, pay it
  18. You want to see the record player in the boot mate.. It's on my list
  19. Thanks guys. That was totally planned WINKJ!
  20. if its in the skip, its anyones but I think its totally fair to say that you want to cats/copper bits/whatever back. I think a company should make clear that they'll be keeping the thing they are replacing and making money from it, otherwise they are just playing on a customers lack of knowledge.
  21. Yeah, nor was I to be honest, looks ok though and its far enough down that my hand isn't half on it when I use the handbrake..
  22. Red leather to go with my red rear strut brace cover, red engine cover (well, currently work in progress), etc Black nismo shifter imported from us, was roughly same price inc shipping, was in stock too! I'm happy
