  1. Looks good, really like the front lip!... but not the badge like others have said. You want the badge to stand out really, and yours does the complete opposite. How difficult did you find wrapping the roof and how long did it take time wise? Have 7.5 square metres of the stuff that i ordered off ebay and am planning on doing the roof and A pillars this weekend but think ive underestimated how difficult it will be! Did you remove your a-pillars to do it, or just do it with them left on?
  2. My mind tells me DO IT.... but the amount of orange mentioned in your sig makes me think you know your stuff when it comes to the colour orange! I guess black is the only colour that goes well with orange really.... unless anyone else has any colour suggestions? Just have it in my mind now that i want to mess about with the colouring in my interior, but can see how there needs to be contrast in colouring... everything in my life can't be orange!
  3. Had some Le mans sunset (A17) paint delivered from paints4u 2 days ago, and the paint seems a tad darker in the bottle... but looks like it will be a pretty good match once it is thinner and dried on the car! Go for black though! if you have orange door handles they'll just blend in with the rest of your car!
  4. aah, ok, thanks for clearing that up! It has often bugged me why the interior seemed to not be orange when i thought that was how it should be... was suspicious it was a cut and shut for the first week or so because of that! Hmmm, now to make the decision of whether to go alezan... or PROPER orange! Am sort of tempted to go for bright orange in the middle strip of the back and seat and keep the outer bits black (not too sure how easy it is to turn black leather to orange though!)
  5. Exactly like that! Did some le mans sunset GTs come with those seats then? As there is no orange on the steering wheel, or anywhere else either. I always assumed that some guy must have just really hated the interior and completely re done it, but maybe it just came with those as stock and the guy i bought it off assumed the same! Wonder why they scratch off as orange.... would think it would be easier to just leave the leather black as it is! May look in to getting the seats stained orange then... as I've really got my mind set on colour coding now since seeing a picture of Keyser's zed! Have so much expenditure coming up on this car but i just keep adding things to my shopping list for it! Am starting to realize that you can never be "satisfied" with your zed's looks.... there's always more that can be done!!
  6. Hmmm, I assumed they have been re-stained, as from what i was aware all Le mans sunset GT packs came with the ALZEAN seats. And the guy i bought it off did mention that the previous owner had apparently changed the colour of the seats (but not sure what proof there was of this to him) I just assume that since there is orange trim in there, and I can see orange in the air holes that something has been done to them, as it wouldn't really make much sense otherwise
  7. Am just worried with a spray kit or using some kind of chemical to remove it that i may also strip the "alzean" colour (don't know if this is dyed onto the leather in the same way or whether it would be more stubborn) And you can call the seats Alzean.... and the car colour Le mans Sunset..... but in my books it all adds up to ORANGE!
  8. One of the previous owners of my Zed decided to dye the orange seats black.... i can see the seats' orange remnants in the trim and in the small air holes. I also must have somehow scratched the seat with keys in my back pocket, and now there is a thin line of orange showing... which gives me hope! Is there any solution or method i could do to remove this black dye they've put on the seats, to get their original orange colour back, but at the same time not stripping the leather of it's orange colour as well?
  9. Sorry to be off topic.... BUT THAT...... IS..... EPIC!!! There's not a lot of ways you can have a bright green car and keep it classy but you've pulled it off there somehow!! OP...Go for green!
  10. Got 5m x 1.52m 4d wrap for £35, so have a lot of margin of error for mess ups with a whole 5 metres just to do the few panels! as from my measurements all I should need is about 1.2m x 1m wrap for the roof then [1.3m x 0.4m] X2 for both Pillar A's Leaves me some scope to see how easy it is anyway, and maybe go a bit mental with wrapping on other panels, or even the interior!
  11. Oooh wow.... Now THAT is a proper job! I wasn't planning on removing the panelling.... but the parts i want to wrap are is the roof, like you, and then the pillars (the parts you remove to do the roof!) How do you get those off? As wrapping them off the car would make it a lot easier! Nice job by the way... you seem to know what you're doing! And I'm going for 3m 4d stuff, don't know what the 4d adds... but sounds better than 3d
  12. Saw this in the for sale section And think having a carbon fibre roof & pillars would looks awesome, like in the picture. Lowest quote from a professional vinyl fitter was £180... yet I can get 1.52M x 3M 4d Carbon fibre wrap for under £30 from ebay or 5m x 1.52m for £45, so am quite determined to do it myself and save up to £150! Have read up about wrapping a car and feel confident i can get the roof done fine as it is mainly flat But in terms of getting the windscreen pillars done.... i am concerned about getting a crease-free fit, since the wrap has to bend a fair amount in order for it to meet that shape (from the back of the roof to the bottom of the windscreen). Have had a sample delivered, and managed to get a thin strip flush around a part of a football with the help of a hairdryer! But does anyone have anyone have any recommendations in terms of how to get the vinyl to naturally follow the curve of the windscreen pillars? Am trying to work out whether to get 5 x 1.52m wrap (about 1 square metre for the roof), then use about 2 x strips of 2m x 1.52m wrap to place fully over the pillars, and cut a lot of excess off without any worry of the windscreen curve. Or to buy just 3m x 1.52m and use heat to mould the wrap to the curve as the windscreen pillars meet with the roof Am also quite paranoid about cutting the vinyl.... seem you need to use a stanley knife to cut it along the rubber trim that connects the panels on the car. Am concerned that too heavy of a hand will actually cut into the rubber seals, or even strip the paint (on closer joints) when I do so, are there any tips in this department?
  13. Sweet, I guess it's just the typical iPhone thing of having to buy specific premium priced hardware. SWITCH TO ANDROID! I love my macbook still, but after having the iphone 4, even with it jailbroken, i still felt so restricted! Grab a galaxy S4 and you'll never look back! Save so much money and have so much more types of apps/features available!
  14. did it this morning... the pannelling came off fine... then was ****ing sat in my car for an hour fiddling about with it, as i couldnt get it to reset! Only then when my laptop was at 15% and i was panicking did i realize you only hold the reset switch when it is going down, not when it is going up! Works fantastic now! Fingers crossed it wont **** up again
  15. :'( am scared enough of removing the panel in my zed! Just want to see if i can reset it and check the connections before i go into the deeper darker realms of removing the motor and cleaning it! Would this guide take me to the point where I'd need to be to get access to the reset switch? http://my350z.com/forum/audio-video-and-electronics-diy/407151-2008-door-panel-removal-front-speaker-install.html Or do you need to go a step further and take off all of the metal panelling as well?
  16. Can understand how a build up of carbon would result in dodgey mechanical operation... but this doesn't seem mechanical... don't know how the process of setting the window levels is stored in the motor... but seems like it would need to be memorised somehow
  17. Hey, Yet another problem with the Zed to report and seek advice. A week after i bought it... the motor forgot where to go when it "auto-upped", and would go fully up then halfway down, this would also mean the window wouldnt drop when opening the door. Had this fixed by Jez, who took off the pannelling, and reset it using the motor rest switch and was all good for the past 3 weeks... and then i went to auto-up it, and it had slipped back into the habbit of then returning to a halfway point. It still dropped when opening the door however, just to a lesser extent, so maybe 2mm instead of 5mm. 2 days after that, the window is now not dropping at all when opening the door and we're back to square one! What could be the cause of this motor just forgetting this stuff constantly? I know new genuine nissan motors from ZEDMANALEX were fitted on both sides last year, and there are no other signs of the motor packing in... so i really don't see that this should be a sign that the window motor is bust, but I'm at a loss as to why this is happening! May bit the bullet and take the pannelling off myself and give the motor reset procedure a go this weekend (since i'll need to learn how to do it if this keeps happening!) but is there anything i should look out for that may be the root of it forgetting this stuff (i.e. loose cabling? Or anything else that would cause this?)
  18. Have one of the mid-priced blue ones in mine. At the end of the day it either functions or it doesn't. All it does it communicate the info to the torque app which does all of the "thinking" so there's no real need to splash out on an uber expensive one. As long as it does the job of relaying the info via bluetooth then you're sorted, so don't be put off by ones in the £10-£15 price mark. Probably best to look on amazon and check some of the reviews on there for the specific models
  19. I'LL BUY IT!!!!! :O I recently found out i inherited £5,000,000 from a Nigerian uncle i never knew i had!! I'm currently making arrangements with the kind Nigerian lawyers to pay they the £50,000 in fees to release this £5 million directly into my account! Once I have the £5 million, I will certainly be getting in touch with this seller to snap up this other bargain! So nobody else better buy it in the mean time! Boy..... what a stroke of luck!!
  20. ooh, i thought they'd work for all phones! I guess IOS is more restrictive than android so there may be some issues there! Am sure there will be one out there for you! It is a handy piece of kit to have just for the peace of mind that you can get into your car's brain per-se and see what is going on with it! Even though it failed to prevail on this issue... there's always the good people of the forum to fall back on though when your OBD adaptor can't help
  21. Got to admit this forum has helped me out a lot since owning my zed and has saved me a lot of hassle and money so far! 5 stars! I'm a convert! Hopefully once i get more clued up about these cars i can be the one answering the questions rather than asking them!
  22. Wow... it worked! Lights went off instantly, wasnt expecting that the way my luck has been going recently! And the adaptor ive got is this one www.amazon.co.uk/Supper-Bluetooth-Compatible-Android-Support/dp/B009NPAORC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390127298&sr=8-1&keywords=bluetooth+obd2 Becaust ive got decats it is pretty important for clearing the fault codes that pop up now and then due to the o2 sensors!
  23. Excellent! Cheers people! Well that gives me hope! Am sick of having restless nights because of this car so ill rest easy hoping its that and get to halfords the second they open!
  24. Hmm, says dot3 on the cap, seems dot 3 and 4 are fine to mix even though the manual says not to, so will go to halfords and top it up with some dot 3 and pray that that fixes the problem! This car is already costing me 4 figures in repairs so far and have only had it just over a month! I cant afford any more big issues
  25. Yargh.... Halfords closes at 6 on a saturday! What type of fluid does the 350 use?
