  1. Yeah, that's the guy! Do you know him? Yes unfortunately lol.... He took me out in it when he had it when I was thinking about selling. Cracking car. Haha, yeah... i got the same sort of "test drive" when i first went to have a look at it! Nearly had a heart attack! Were a few nasty surprises that i found after buying it, doubt he was aware of the issues though... but fingers crossed I've put them all right now (as i can't afford any more!)
  2. Yeah, that's the guy! Do you know him?
  3. Saw a trolley with all of the guy's products... would say conservatively there were about 50 different tubs/bottles. Seemed to be all AutoGlym. He buffed, clayed, polished, waxed... everything basically! Even used sandpaper to get the deeper scratches out of the door. Nice job on the inside too, the seats are now lovely and soft, and has a nice new car smell to it as well. Hand cleaned the engine bay as well. Was about a 15 hour job overall
  4. Had attempted to clay bar my car a while back.... and ended up getting light scratches all over it because of me just being generally crap with stuff that requires a light hand and patience. It was driving me mad! So figured I'd get it detailed by some professionals! £230 for a full enhancement detail at G7 sounds in Newbury did the trick. Is a lot of money to spend... but am thrilled with the level of attention and results achieved! Just got the papers through for my new number plate too so now nobody would guess it is 11 years old!! Before : AFTER :
  5. Have my car booked in for an enhancement detail this friday/saturday! Will be £230 lighter at the end of it, but they estimate it will be around 18 hours to get it all up to a great standard! If £50 and a couple of hours gets that sort of reaction.... i have high hopes for my car's 2 day job!
  6. Looking at what you currently have.... Your world is gonna get turned upside down the second you really push your foot down on your new zed!! Have fun on the long drive home buddy!
  7. I thought getting a zed would be a straight forward investment of around 8k.... after an extra 3k+ in expenditure zeditis is still consuming my brain and every pound i see on my paycheck is then calculated in my brain as tokens for what i can then do to my car! Would never say buying a zed was a mistake, but retrospectively i wouldn't say that buying a zed is a smart idea for anyone working on a budget! You can plan certain costs in your head, but once you have the car there will always be extra costs that you will incur whether it is mechanical or just desire to make your zed perfect in your eyes! Never underestimate the power of zeditis! It is talked about very jokingly on the forums, but it is genuinely a serious condition!
  8. Was stopped for a second or two, but then my mate said you could get points for it... as long as there are no points involved then im happy! Wasnt even in a city or anything so doubt a council would be enforcing it, guess it is just suspiciously placed roadmaster cameras!
  9. Was joining a round about and noticed i was stationary for about 2 seconds inside a yellow criss cross box, there were 2 blue cameras to my left that looked like the private roadmaster cameras! I then kept moving at about 2mph abd got out of the box. Could these cameras have been ones that check if youre stopping in a box? They were quite low and blue with no sognage so just assumed they were roadmaster. If i were to get a fine.... would i get points as well? Am pranging out now as my insurance jumps by about 500 if i get points!
  10. Well this has been enlightening! Was suspecting a few people would have but didn't realize it really was as endemic as i originally thought! Will have a greater level of respect for coupe/celica/MR2 owners in the future knowing that one day they may well be fledgling zed owners some day soon!
  11. Was just wondering who else has had these in the past. Have met and spoke with 4 other zed owners so far, and 2 of them used to have hyundai coupes, and one had a celica. I myself started off driving in a hyundai coupe as well. I guess for zed owners the celica or coupe are sort of like a "gateway drug" in a sense, as they follow the same sort of look. Anyone else owned either of these cars before upgrading to a zed?
  12. Excellent! Thanks for all of your help! Goodbye 53 reg plate... hello 5 character ego booster plate!
  13. Hi, i want to get a private plate for my 350, but was wonderig how the process works.... ive read it is quite a lengthy process as would be expected with the dvla, involving certificates and documents. But is there a gap in the process as the new reg is being transferred and the old one removed from their systems where you cannot use the car on the road for a certain time period? As in theory your car could be linked to 2 different plates throughout the process Cant really not be able to use the car so this would be an issue even if it was just a week.
  14. sounds promising! Thanks for the advice from everyone. Now if only RT performance would reply to my email.... Am working the later shift so can't really phone them in the week! Sent them an email about this on Sunday and still no reply I WANT IT NOW!!
  15. nice one, thanks! Will give them a call on Monday! WWAARRGGHH!! The zeditis is taking it's hold, I can feel my brain chemistry changing!
  16. do you know if they're still selling them? As they only have 2 items listed on their site £320 would be fair.... assuming it would then only be about £200 for fitting/spraying.... does that sound reasonable, or am i living in a dream world?
  17. Was looking at my zed today from the side and it just looks a bit off given it has a front lip, skirts, but nothing on the rear. Think it all falls down to it having a stock rear, and I've always loved the look of the chargespeed rear bumper since i first started looking at zeds. Found this genuine one on amazon for £470 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Charge-Speed-0260-Bumper-Nissan/dp/B00DOPIGBS What sort of price would I be looking at from a body shop to fit and spray it? Know there may be extra issues with blending given that I have a le mans sunset zed. Does anyone know of any cheaper places to get one, even if it is just taken from a mould? Have read RT performance did one, but they dont seem to have it up anymore. I have quite good relations with a bodyshop in my area, so hopefully the labour if it does need a bit of work to it wouldn't be the biggest set back, but just wanted a guestimate, or quote from experience from others who have had similar work done to give me an overall price, or another source for the bumper, before i go getting ahead of myself and get too excited about this prospect! Saw a poster on here who got one from the amazon link when the seller was selling them for £250 and they were the real deal!! Just wish I had had this idea earlier before their price hike!
  18. Compression arms perhaps? If you're already getting knocking from it though then you'd be past the stage just just replacing the bushings and would need to replace the whole arm as it would mean the ball joint in it is gone
  19. Yeah, did ask him whether he could do them in the colour i wanted, but apparently he only does white ones! Got these ones from autobulbsdirect so don't think they're cheap like the ebay ones! Maybe when night comes I'll test them out again and they'll really shine then! I guess the colour red is never going to glow as much as something white or blue anyway!
  20. LET THERE BE RED LIGHT!!! thanks a lot! Was just in the wrong way round.... knew there was that rule with leds but since it hadnt worked with the old bulb just assumed it was something worse! Am sprt of underwhelmed by these 4 led festoon 269s though now.... was sort of hoping for something more bright!
  21. So gutted... having met another zed owner last sunday i decided LEDs were a pretty nice and cheap mod. Got some red festoons to fit in the dome lights. When the car was sold to me, the left dome light never worked... i assumed it was a blown bulb! Having gone to fit the new bulbs... still nothing from this left bulb! The right one looks so good, and i really want to get the other side working. Is this a common issue that anyone may know the cause of?
  22. Would have been on the A road that leads from the m3 to reading, not entirely sure where exactly on it, both the blue and the silver black ones were on this road, the blue on the other side as i was heading into reading at 10am, and the silver black on the other side as i was heading back to the m3 middayish
  23. Have seen a wealth of 350s driving about today! Seems the sun brings them out to play! A non modded azure in Reading, then at around 12:30 as i was heading back to Newbury a silver and black modded 350 came past me on the other side of the dual carriageway And then to sum it up, a silver 350 that flashed me as they were waiting to exit sainsburys in Newbury! Any of these on the forum?
