  1. Have no idea tbh then but hope they do work for you. If they don't then hopefully it will be something simple like install some new dashboard bulbs and away you go.
  2. Metal shavings in the oil from anything mechanical is not good news. Any noise from the diff whilst driving? did the mechanic investigate further or just change the oil then? I'd try a PM maybe to Zmanalex or one of the other garage traders on here to see what they think but I suspect without seeing the diff internally it will be hard to tell exactly what's going on.
  3. Welcome aboard and sounds like you've had some nice cars in the past. Love my 350z and I've had a fair few nice cars before as well. Enjoy the 350.
  4. Hard to say whether they'll light up really tbh. Unless they receive a signal from the cruise control somehow then I guess they won't do squat. Mine do light up but then I have cruise control on the steering wheel of my UK Zed as it is standard on the GT models, which mine is. Are you changing the steering wheel to one like the below with the cruise control on it already or fitting some type of aftermarket add on kit?
  5. Need's..... I got nothing. Money well spent I think Phlukey. After all you can't take it with you when you're gone and you only live once. Enjoy it & we definitely need videos of the beast running.
  6. No it's from outside if you read ostego's post n#3.I have a similar squeak that's just started recently presumably because of how wet the last few months have been and now it's drying up a bit. Definitely from outside and underneath the car. No big deal just a bit annoying more than anything. If I can get to the offending pivot point without the need for a ramp then I'll sort it myself otherwise it'll have to wait till my MOT in May. Edit: making peoples names up.
  7. Re: other tuner Chromatic ~ I drove 98 miles to get my car it's UpRev from a reputable garage who know their stuff. Definitely worth the drive imo even if it does cost a little more. If my clutch needs replacing in the future I think I may look at what's available then for my DE in terms of exhaust manifolds (headers) but as you say I doubt it will be a massive power gain & I'm sure the cost of doing it (if not when having a clutch or similar job done) will out way the hike in power tbh. Would be a shame to ruin the nice exhaust sound true, but you never know it may sound even nicer afterwards.
  8. The 99 and 900 (I think only some of them though) along with the Alfasud and most Citroens of a certain age had the handbrake applied on the front wheels. No idea why though. Curses, beaten to it. In a "Christ it's quick" thread that's surely ironic.
  9. Front brakes? Never heard of that Apparently some Citroen's (Xantia, 2CV, DS), Alfa's (Sud Sprint Veloce for one), Seats and old Subarus also have had the handbrake set up on the front wheels. Stupid idea imo.
  10. Good plans & some nice pictures. With regards to your front bumper it looks as if someone has put a silver coloured bumper on your gun metal coloured Zed. Probably as a result of damaging the original and getting a second hand front bumper that was from a scrapped silver Zed. No big deal really, as you say just needs respraying the correct colour.
  11. How exactly would I go about finding and identifying this part? Is it easily accessible from under the hood or under the car? And what sort of grease would be ok? WD40? Bump ~ as it would be good to know the answer to this for other members.
  12. Good decision I'd say. The 350's a great car imo, ...but so is the M3 of course. Good luck with finding a swap.
  13. That might be the only option. Not sure really though if it's even possible. Looking at the diagram below the seat rails appear to be lower on one side than the other meaning that although you may be able to modify one side to make it lower it looks as if the other side is as low as it's possible to make it. Probably due to the way the prop shaft runs down the centre of the car underneath or something. I wouldn't want to change my standard seats but if the height issue is really a problem then your only viable option may be new seats with lower seat rails. I'm sure though if you can solve this there will be a lot of interested 6ft+ 350Z owners as I found a lot of threads about this subject.
  14. Everybody only ever speeds on private roads of course. I find the Zed deceptively quick. When you actually floor it through the gears all the way to the shift light change point, it's only when you glance at the speedo that you realize f**k me it's going that fast already.
  15. Would be good to hear it as well. Any idea what the fitting cost is likely to be,assuming you are not doing it yourself. Haven't even taken delivery of my car, and I am looking into new exhausts. Cost me £95 odd to have mine fitted at a local independent garage but he also fitted HFC's at the same time which did increase the fitting time greatly as getting the old cats off was a pain. Have a look at the links below for some good videos from Chromatic on the Invidia exhaust he had fitted and also Tarmac Sportz customer video threads. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/80957-about-to-pull-the-trigger-on-exhaust-which-of-these-two/ Great video on page 5: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81936-berk-hfcs-arrived/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/60920-tarmac-sportz-customer-exhaust-videos-thread/ Hope that helps.
  16. Shouldn't be hard for the sparkys to put an LED behind the red reflector and have it turn on with the interior lights when you open the door. Puddle lights would also look cool. Someone did it before; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/32585-mirror-indicator-repeaters-and-puddle-lights/ Not sure I like the way he's done it though. I'd want it set in the bottom of the door again to come on with the interior lights when you open the door. Found a bit of a guide on fitting puddle lights in a 350Z for anyone interested (projector type but you could always just use LEDs); http://betterautomotivelighting.com/2013/02/12/installing-nissan-350z-puddle-light-led-logo-projectors/
  17. Supercharger over turbo on the Zed every time for me. Much safer/cooler on the engine and it will see a great power increase across the entire rev range. I can't think of anything else to do on your HR Chromatic for any sensible money to get more power. Next up on an N/a build engine you are talking cams/pistons etc and then you quickly start talking big bucks for relatively small gains imo.
  18. Definitely worth doing a good bit of research whilst your saving up some cash. Who knows you may even change your mind again by the time you've saved up and you can use the cash you've saved for something different.
  19. Been looking for you HAMLNJ but from what I can find (mainly on US Zed forums) the only thing you can do to lower the standard seat position is to change the seat entirely. You would need to get aftermarket seats with low seat rails but then obviously that will cost a bit plus lose you those nice heated leather seats & electrics. Low seat rails for aftermarket bucket seats here; http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/nagisa-auto-super-low-seat-rail-leftside-nissan-350z-0308-p-108398.html Don't know if anyone's modded the standard seat rails but would be cool for you if they have. Maybe try google further.
  20. You can get lower seat rails but I believe these are for aftermarket seats. Might be able to modify them though possibly?
  21. Glad you got it sorted ~ now if we can just figure something out for HAMLNJ? http://www.spellsofmagic.com/spells/life_spells/growing_spells/9458/page.html
  22. You are spot on though. For $500 it's best to only do the remap once so yes get all the mods done first.
  23. You won't regret it as it's a great system. Just one thing ~ when you get it fitted make sure that on the drivers side at the rear end the fitters put the pipe over the top of the anti roll bar, ...and NOT underneath. If they do it the latter way you will lose some ground clearance. Picture above is of mine the correct way. Bit hard to see but I hope you get the right idea.
