  1. Cheers. I was half expecting to c**k it up tbh and drop the can of paint all over the engine (especially as I was having a pint at the time ), ...but thankfully that never happened and I kept my grip on the paint can so job was a goodun'.
  2. Great read again and loved the videos/pictures. Regarding the Takata harnesses I'm glad you found out they where fake before you needed them as that could have cost you your life. Tbh I don't understand why people seem to love Takata so much, I mean they look ok but imo the new Schroth harnesses you've bought look so much better.
  3. Ta! I'm going to look into this - can anyone recommend someone near South Manchester? Might get more of a response if you post your own thread asking for recommendations near you. Lot's of people on here who have had their Rays or other alloys refurbed so bound to be someone near South Manchester that can do it.
  4. Cheers Ian. I did pull some of the pipes off slightly to allow me to paint right up to the plenum but yeah pretty much everything still attached. It wasn't a quick job to do but very satisfying now when I look at it all done.
  5. ^^ Saga would be funny. That's probably a good idea to advertise Vagisil on the 350's as our cars will undoubtedly get more attention from the ladies driving around then some Jag would. i'm going on the pictures from the car shows where ladies drape themselves over the zed in skimpy clothing. Most of them look like they could be carrying at least a yeast infection, if not more the cars are great, they just seem to attract attention from the wrong kind of girls at shows. You know the ones where you feel you need to rub the paint work down with an antibacterial wipe before re buffing the polish. And again. That's probably 95% true.
  6. If you are going to have your alloys refurbished then they can do the alloys any colour you want pretty much.
  7. Thanks Mitz. Funny how some of the smaller, easier mods can make such a difference. Was looking in the engine bay today and it just look's so much better now.
  8. 9. Nice job mrjones350 and welcome aboard btw.
  10. Best bet is to send Ian a PM as you're more likely to get a response. Just hover your cursor arrow over his name and the "send message" icon will pop up.
  11. Oooh Wales is definitely an expensive trip for you then octet.
  12. Cool. Looking forward to seeing what you went for.
  13. Great work and when I started reading this I was thinking, "he's gonna need more paint than that surely?!" ...but you discovered that.

  15. Basically if when you press the boot release button you find that the boot doesn't lift high enough and you have to press the button a second time then the boot assist popper springs could be worn. The easiest cheapest way to fix this is to remove the boot assist units & their rubber covers ~ then pop some pennies or washers inside the rubber covers & refit. Have a look at this thread; http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/35706-the-penny-trick/ Personally I wouldn't do it as a member on here does new springs & a fitting service for them which is cheap enough anyway.
  16. No flames, ..so I take it he was doing less than 88mph.
  17. I thought; "has he crashed the Zed behind the wall??!" ....then I twigged what was going on. Too much lager I reckon.
  18. I use Fuchs Pro S 5W30. From Opie Oils.
