  1. Thanks a bunch for all those links. I'd have never of found them all. It will make a great read in my preparation for getting a SC fitted.
  2. It was your earlier comments that helped keep my expectations very realistic before getting it done, I was worried I would put my foot down and wouldn't feel any difference It wasn't placebo though, I put my foot down and was like 'what the f**k', this is very noticeable! I think expectations going in make a difference, if people are telling you to expect a new car or a massive change, you'll be disappointed. Seems like yours was already making good power before the UpRev so the change wasn't as much if you'd already added mods and just had a map.
  3. I had it done after reading this thread so I think it kept my expectations much lower than to be expecting a brand new car. Looking at some of the earlier comments, some have said it made little difference and only added 15 bhp, others said it made a huge difference. I just wanted to notice the difference enough to enjoy the car that little bit more and didn't care about the numbers. If you expect a big change in performance for about £1200 then I agree, it's not worth it.
  4. 10% peak power yes, when you said 5%, you didn't mention that was earlier in rev range so I just assumed you meant total power. With the throttle improvement it feels like 10% right away anyway. That's where we will have to disagree but it is a purely a matter of opinion and I may still have rose tinted glasses on, unlike yourself who has passed that phase. I expected even less than 25 bhp and was promised no more. I was more than happy but perhaps like yourself, I'm still in the honeymoon period at the moment so I may change my mind after I've enjoyed the hell out the car, sold it and forgotten what it was like before the mods. I can see where you're coming from then. How much extra bhp did you make at peak power after the UpRev?
  5. My 85k 2004 Z couldn't have been putting out much more than 260 bhp at the flywheel before the mods and UpRev, so it made about 28 bhp more. That's over 10% more power but the UpRev isn't about bhp increase as much as how it effects the overall drivability, you said yourself you thought it was 'miles better'. I wouldn't say it's that much better but it is noticeably quicker. £1175 which included fitting a panel filter, HFCs and a spacer for over 10% more power (approx 28 bhp) and better drivability by increasing throttle response in lower gears. That isn't bad bang for your buck as far as performance mods go.
  6. Speeders get blamed for accidents and being dangerous but it's usually lack of concentration, drinking and tiredness that causes most of them, not the speed they are doing, that's usually coincidental. There should be some sort of camera for people who talk on their phones, cameras for idiots who brake for no reason like when approaching a empty island to check what they should already know when approaching, it's clear. Speeding fines for people who go too slow, 30-35 in a 40 for example on clear dry day. It's these drivers causing 90% of the congestion and the majority of accidents, not people doing 5-10 miles over the limit whilst concentrating on the road.
  7. Also, having a decent set of tyres of your Z should be your first priority. Who would spend £400 on a UpRev tune with a set of ditch finders on? Your logic is like your maths
  8. Well I already have a good set of tyres, 274 - 288.4, gained me 14.4 hp, not 8 but it's not about overall power gain, it's about more power throughout the rev range.
  9. I shall take some more pics tomorrow in the sunlight. I need to get the alignment done anyway with the new spacers so hopefully it is just that.
  10. When I adjusted my clutch pedal too low I found it hard to get into gear and sometimes it would take a few attempts, readjusting it up fixed that.
  11. Try changing the gearbox oil and adding molyslip, for me this made it go into gear when cold much easier although I could always get it in. I also have to put it into neutral from 1st rather than right into 2nd to avoid a notchy change when cold, it's all fine when warm though.
  12. After fitting my spacers today, I noticed there's quite a negative camber angle on both my rear wheels. It is even but I'm not sure if it right or not. It is on a bit of slope on the 2nd picture but I don't think it's making that much difference.
  13. Oops I did it again! Yes, I mean't Jez. Nothing wrong with looking forward to driving the Z and having a look back, I do it everytime It's my 2nd car so I could afford to have it off the road and fit it on my drive but I don't think I could manage it. I've looked at the DIYs and some seemed ok but some seemed beyond me. I looked at 1 DIY for the fuel pump and it looked solid, lots of fabricating and making things fit, is this the case or did I look at the wrong DIY?
  14. Wow. Really nice car and a great write up. I'm really impressed with what you've done. Seems like you're really enjoying driving it with the SC. I spoke to Jess about a Vortech install, he mentioned they had just done one (guessing that was yours?). I asked him the price and time it would it take, not cheap and will take over 3 weeks but I bet it's worth it. That dyno sheet is very impressive, makes the 290BHP it was making before look slow! I plan to do this myself next year, I already have the UpRev MAF and Bosh 550cc injectors, I know I need loads more but they come up at a good price. It will cost a small fortune to do but threads like will be inspiring when I'm freezing and hungry at night because I don't want to turn the heating on or eat to save that bit extra
  15. Just got mine too. Thanks very much. Was kind of expecting a free gift though
  16. I have no idea, I don't know if there is a difference.
  17. The trouble is, when you reduce the biting point it makes the thud worse. I never had it until i lowered the pedal then it started. I raised the pedal more until it stopped. The more you raise the pedal, the more force it has to push back out to original position. When you reduce you force by lowering the pedal, the thud can start, at least that's how it did for me.
  18. The UpRev gives more power and response throughout the rev range. The green line on the graph below is before the UpRev. With the spacer, panel filter and cats it made 274. After the UpRev was finhised it made just over 288 but has more power and response as soon as you foot down.
  19. It breaths fire and still manages to sound nice! Must be a rotary but doesn't sound like a bridge port.
  20. Sorry to hear that. Mine work fine and look great though.
  21. Get a pair of these LED lights off Ebay for £161 delivered from the US, no taxes or import fees so that's all I paid. Took only 5 days to arrive.
  22. I also went to Horesham Developments to have a Berk HFCs, spacer and Cosworth panel filter fitted. Jez managed to get it to almost 290BHP at the flywheel after the UpRev map, the rest of car is standard so I'm very pleased with the results The car is noticeably quicker and responds better. Nothing too drastic but definitely worth the money and exceeded my expectations. The high life Spacer: Cats: Ready to roll! Result! Printout. He had some very nice project/track cars there too.
