  1. Got my rear LEDs. I think they look loads better even in the daytime with the lights off. Comparing the 2, LED O/S, Original D/S.
  2. Off a 2004 with 84k miles. Passed it's last MOT emissions test fine in July at 82k. Only changed due to upgrade. £120 Delivered.
  3. £50 for both or £30 for one side delivered.
  4. This is what I do. Playing GTA 4 at the mo, Gay Tony DLC, it's awesome! Graphics are top notch on max settings.
  5. Thanks everyone. I asked Jez to check the oil level and refill it if necessary. Luckily they had overfilled it so there was no need to refill it or even top it up. If I notice the gearbox isn't as smooth I can always refill it myself and have the peace of mind that everything has been tightened up corrected.
  6. The manager has emailed me back and has agreed to cover the cost of cleaning up the oil and to fit the part for free. I'm not asking for anymore, I'm just happy to have to cost covered even if it is a small amount, more importantly, I have no reason to be disgruntled Thanks again everyone for the help.
  7. Whether on the phone or via email it would be my word against his. At least via email, I can easily point to proof that backs up my point rather than just going back forth on the phone with “he didn’t tighten it†and “he didâ€. In that case, I already lost when I set out. The mess has been cleaned up, the cost of the new part is negligible and the opportunity for them to change it when the gearbox was out has passed. I just wanted them to admit fault which they did for the gaitor and pay the cleaning bill out of principal. I disagree. Sending a complaint email to someone who runs a business and who I have met in person on several occasions, doesn’t make me a keyboard warrior. When you know you will be debating over something that was either done or not done there’s not much room for empathy and reason. It was either tightened or it wasn’t and of course he would say it was. I’d just have to email him links to prove my point anyway. That’s why I didn’t want to phone. I am disgruntled and I don’t want to things to escalate on a phone call, I’m accusing his staff of not their job right, as Ekona said, I have no proof of this. I don’t see where it could go in my favour. Sending him the email with photos gives him time to think about his response and keeps things civil rather than putting pressure on him. Plus I’ve emailed him before with an issue before I went in and he was very helpful so bear that in mind. The damage is done. One wound healed. The other will soon. I just want them to admit their mistake to prevent me leaving an honest review in a few places. I knew I couldn’t ‘win’ in this situation. I wanted them give the opportunity to make it up to me. Honesty would have been a good start if it is as unlikely as one would expect for the plug to untwist itself. I agree. When I first saw it, I said to Jez ‘they won’t admit it’. I’m not Mystic Meg, anyone could have told you his tech wouldn’t admit to him (the manager) he didn’t tightened it up whether I phoned up, went in or took him for dinner. Better to just offer up the facts in an email if you already know it will go there anyway. Lets just see what happens. I've emailed him again so we'll soon find out. Thanks everyone for their input including the constructive criticism (even as misplaced as it was) . It's been a big help establishing the most likely reason for my plug coming loose.
  8. I liked Watchdogs, haven't tried the DLC yet, will probably wait for it to come down in price. I've been playing Rome 2 lately, I brought it when it first came out but it was too buggy. 15 patches and 1 year later. It's now a pretty amazing game. Beautiful graphics and the AI can be quite challenging and make some clever moves (as well as many dumb ones).
  9. I don't see what's wrong with an email especially if you know you'll be disagreeing, it's better to have a record of what both parties say. I sent an email in the first place because I wanted to show the photos. I've no issue with speaking to the manager, I've already been back twice, once because I thought the new clutch was noisy and another time to have the clutch bled and an OEM hose fitted instead of SS one. Then I did call or went it in to see him. This time is a bit different because I knew I'd be basically saying his guy didn't tightened the bolt, he'd be saying he did. From that point, you can just go back and forth, or if you're communicating via email, it's easier to point at links and include info as to whether or not the plug can come loose after being tightened correctly. As for the manager seeing this thread, I'll be linking to it anyway. What do I want to happen? I want the £20 for cleaning up the mess that they should admit their tech is responsible for. Also supply the new gaitor (I'll get it fitted elsewhere after all this), they were under my car twice for a long time working on that area. Jez spotted it in 2 minutes. How are they sure it was already in this condition? (as he stated in the email response) and if so then surely they would have told me... just seems a little weird. I'm just going to link to this post to prove the what common sense would tell anyone, the plug can't unscrew itself and then it's up to them to decide what to do.
  10. Thanks for the replies. Sorry, fill or drain plug though, it's the same result, an oily mess that could have gotten really expensive. I'd rather put things in an email as I can say everything with a clear head rather than over the phone where I'm more likely to get annoyed if he keep saying the tech tightened it to the correct torque. Besides if he chooses to not offer me a fair resolution, one bad customer experience can go a long way. I can easily just start with a Google business review linking to the pictures, that would have put me off using them and I'm sure it would others. I don't want to go that route but it's always option should they continue with the 'the drain plug was tightened to the correct torque according to Autodata' excuse.
  11. Thanks, I am! Didn't have too high hopes in terms on BHP gains with just the minimum bolt ons, (cosworth panel filter in a standard airbox, spacer and Berks HFCs on a standard exhaust system) but I'm really pleased with both the extra BHP and more importantly the way it drives. Like a knife that was a bit blunt getting sharpened.
  12. It wasn't all sunshine at H Devs yesterday. When got there, they could smell oil burning (I'd thought it was the new clutch as that's when it started). Once the car was in the air, Jez noticed that the drain plug was half way out, oil was all over the gearbox and the gaitor was ripped on the bottom of the selector! Luckily, there was plenty of oil left in the gearbox as we suspect it had been overfilled so no damage was done. Jez cleaned the mess up and checked the oil levels, he only charged me £20 which I insisted on and was hoping the company that fitted my clutch would cover. I emailed the photos below to the manager and informed of everything that had happened. This was his response: My response: So, can the plug come loose? Or how likely is it VS human error?
  13. Thanks Zeus, in your face Grundy I only knew of a girl but that was short for Jessica.
  14. Cheers! And I was calling him 'Jess' all day
  15. Just got back from Horesham Developments. First of all I'd like say what great team Jess has there, the service was top notch and everyone was very friendly. I had lowered my expectations after hearing of some cars only making about 255 bhp at the flywheel and then about 10-15 more after all the mods but I wasn't disappointed! They fitted on the cats, filter and spacer and she made 274 bhp right off the bat. Great start! By the time Jess was done with the Uprev, I was just shy of 290 bhp at the fly I haven't had chance to have a good drive yet but I can without a doubt feel the difference. As you can see from the graph, it's just more linear power so it's not a sudden boost or anything dramatic. The car is just noticeably a bit faster and quicker to respond. It's just a even bigger grin when you put your foot down. Was it worth the money? I'd say definitely.
  16. If they have a Y pipe instock, I'll buy it and get it fitted but I'm booked in tomorrow. It won't be my last visit though so I can always get the full exhaust next time.
  17. I looked at the thread and from I can gather peoples feeling seem to go from being ripped off to driving a new car. It must vary from car to car and what bolt-on mods you have done at the same time. I'm keeping my expectations realistic, it's not like I'm adding a turbo so I don't expect to be pushed back in seat sooner. I would expect you might only measure the difference over lap times as oppose to trying 'feel' the difference which is very subjective. My RX8 felt as fast as the 350z, maybe even faster as power isn't as linear but by no means was it anywhere near as fast when I look down at the speedo or when my mate's Tdi can no longer rape me at the lights
  18. I'm going tomorrow for a spacer, filter, Uprev and berks cats. Been looking forward to this for a while
  19. Hdevs told me that cats is most restrictive part of the system that's why they recommend you change that first. Having said that, this is just an appetiser, for real gains I plan to get supercharger fitted at some point next year. I've already got some parts as they come up cheap so I'm committed now
  20. I think I need to do this as it's just loud enough but not great. It's better when the phone is plugged in than via bluetooth but that's less convenient.
  21. I have the Pioneer x2600bt and it's awesome. Here is a bit from a PM I sent to another member who was asking about it and fitting: Looks good at night
  22. Yes, it's new so it shouldn't be hard to unbolt. Edit, it's the OEM exhaust but quite new.
  23. Is it really that much effort to just put a key in and turn it? They should just go back to normal keys, job done. It's not like it's power steering, ABS or even an automatic choke, it makes no difference to how the cars drives.
