  1. I'm going to hdev tomorrow for a spacer, filter, berks cats and UpRev, I think it's only costing £1200 fitted. I've got a good feel for the Z now so I'll let you know my thoughts on how things improve in terms of numbers and performance.
  2. I hate taking my cars to garages. They always want you to drop it off first thing in the morning like it's no big deal for you not have a car, then it's sits on the carpark for 3 hours before they even touch it. Then they can scratch or dent it and forget to mention that to you. Sometimes they don't ring you to pick the car up and say they got the answer phone or some other lame excuse. My pet peeve, is when I turn up somewhere for a small job and they make you wait 15-20 minutes like your time is worthless. I've had it happen so many times that I always ring before I'm meant to turn up to make sure there won't be any delays and most the time they add another 30 minutes to the time I'm supposed to get there If I then proceed to turn up on time and have to wait for more than 5 long minutes, I just leave after expressing my frustration It's not the ideal way to handle things but it's better than letting them bend you over a barrel (an activity lots of mechanics seem to enjoy ). It's better to do things yourself if possible, I'd rather buy new tools so I can do the job myself but if I can't, I make sure I know what needs to be done so they can't get one over on me. That said, the bodyshop guy I use is totally awesome. His prices, communication and work are great. He treats you like a valued customer which is surprising rare in my experience with garages/bodyshops/window tinting and tyre places.

Also, I'm not sure how handy you are, but I'd remove the front bumper and glue the crack from the inside using another piece of plastic as support. It would only take a couple of hours and be cheap fix for something that will put some buyers off. Also, a touch pen for that little scrape below the crack and any chips can do wonders and you can get the right colour code kit of Ebay for just a few quid. You probably won't need to do these to get a sale but it probably speed things up.

Great stuff, should fly out at that price. I would remove the title, 'Bad bits' and just put something like 'there are couple of age related marks and small scuffs to the alloys as to be expected with a 10 year old car but nothing to distract from the overall look'. Seeing 'bad bits' in an advert isn't very attractive to buyers skimming over ads, especially when the flaws are so minor and common on a 5 year+ used car.
  5. Ahhhhh! Ahhh! That makes sense. Sadly not the case with the 350 then. You need to balance it out, get crashing then
  6. I ended paying £699 all in on both cars. I could get slightly cheaper but with lesser companies or cover. It broke down to £400 for 350Z using 10 years NCB (they only count 5 though) and £299 for my 1.9 TDi Passat using 0 years NCB. That covers my mods and protected no claims (for whatever that's worth but was only an extra £1). That's with Admiral insurance (the first quote I got). I tried ALL the traders on here, and they all wanted to close to, or more than I'm paying for both cars and that was before I added my mods!. I'm 33, 16 years passed, all my 10 years NCB was on a sports cars, clean licence, no convictions, restrictions or anything like that and a good postcode. £266 on a 370z! That's a great price. I'll try Privilege myself. My policy doesn't start till the 2nd. Maybe I should add my Dad as a 2nd driver, because I'm still paying too much if you're paying that much Or is it cheaper to insure a 370z??
  7. Thanks a lot for the compliments! I won the spoiler for just £50 off Ebay, I didn't expect to win it as that was the starting bid, I was outbid early and left it but the other bidder dropped out last minute and I got it. I had to go to London to pick it up but it was a fun drive as I just had the Z It's a made by Ings. It came from the US originally. The grille is a Zunsport, got that new also from Ebay.
  8. To change the washers on the rear heat shield, don't they need to remove the exhaust? Still don't justify the price but it could account for some extra labour if this is the case.
  9. I'd more concerned as to why he was slamming on the brakes whether it was before he drove it or whilst he was driving it. Anything less than I had to stop to avoid an accident I'd be wanting them to pay for breaking the hose.

People on here told me to ensure the service history is good before I brought mine recently. I'd mention what service it has. I think the price is very good. I went to see a 05 reg with 120k on it. It was up for 5K and it was pretty rough inside and out. I ended up buying a much better one for a bit more but that one had still sold next time I checked the dealers site about a week later.
  11. Thanks guys. I'm really pleased with the look now. Just need my spacers from Tarmac and I'm all set. Having said that, I did order a couple more "essentials" today LED Rears A Stormforce 350z cover to keep the rain and muddy cat feet (and the occasional shite) off my car
  12. I had a play with the voice control tonight, it brings up Google on my android phone and I can say who to dial, ask a question or where is nearest petrol station, or any other POI I could think of, it brings up the map and I can use Google maps. It may not be on steering wheel but it can do a whole lot more and its easy enough to tap the touchscreen.
  13. I think he wants to use handfree steering control buttons too. As far as I know, there are no stereos that support the handsfree buttons but most will support the skip tracks, volume on your phone/stereo via the steering controls.
  14. Thanks! It uses sat nav apps on your phone like Tomtom or Navfree, there are loads compatible, they pair up, it called 'pioneer app mode'. The nav app appears on the touchsceen but runs from your phone. My set up has the factory nav on top of the stereo. It uses voice commands but you need to touch the screen the first. If you want to use the steering wheel control for voice, you need the Bluetooth adapter that the factory supplies, there's usually a 2nd hand one on ebay.
  15. Welcome to the forums! I too recently brought my Z and fitted the Pioneer x2600BT. I can highly recommend it.It has everything including a Parrot handfree kit, reverse camera input and pairs up with any smartphone (separate lead required depending on phone) and uses it's GPS signal to power the Sat Nav. You can't control the phone calls on the steering wheel i.e with the phone buttons but you have full control over to skips tracks and adjust volume. The phone buttons now actually switch sources for the stereo inputs. You can control your phone calls on the touchscreen, dial numbers, browse recently called list etc as well as a big answer or decline button that pops up when you get a call.
  16. Thanks mate! Looking at the photos before the DRLs were painted, they were pretty damn ugly
  17. Thanks a lot! I am really pleased but it's good to hear it from another Z owner as I tend have rose tinted glasses when it comes to my Z
  18. Cheers! I'm really happy with how it's turned out. The DRLs like you say, look much better, and the I think moving the number plate/removing the mount improves the line of nose of the car from the side. It also makes the grill more pronounced. A couple of subtle changes have made it look quite bit better
  19. Over this weekend I've sprayed the DRLs and removed the front number plate holder. I moved the number plate up and I think it makes quite difference when you can see the full grill. I also cut the underhang on the front spoiler as it only served to block the undertray bolts I also did a quick oil and filter change whilst I was at it Just need my spacers next and I think I'm done on the exterior unless I get some Nismo skirts and spats and sell my mud flaps at a later date. Haven't decided on that yet.
  20. Yeah, it feels like a different clutch just by moving 1 thread in or out on the bolt.
  21. Ok,I adjusted again. 3 threads showing now instead of 4 and I removed the rubber piece but left the sensor adjusted all the way out. It's perfect now, I can finally drive the Z without thinking about bringing the clutch up slowly and having the right revs to ensure smooth driving. I can just drive normally and it's smooth
